Ayanna's POV
I hold my baby close, feeling the way her breathing pattern changes into a slower one. I decide not to unlatch her just yet, taking a moment to just contemplate her. The way her mouth is wrapped around my aureola, suckling softly and sleepily. Lately she's been going deeper into her headspace when she nurses and I love that I'm able to help her let go. I wonder how it'll be when I get to produce breastmilk. Will she feel as tiny? Maybe tinier? I'm not sure about that but I do know she'll be on my breasts more or at least I hope that she likes the milk I'd provide enough to want it with a certain frequency. Leaving that aside I love moments like this, it gets me so fucking weak in the best way...
'Shh shh' I gently shush her as she squirms a bit on her sleep when I unlatch her, popping paci on her mouth and clipping it to her shirt. 'There, there' I softly say, holding her close
I turn the TV on at a low volume, watching the news to see just how low the temperature will be. After twenty minutes or so I feel her stirring awake. The paci falls off her mouth but seeing it doesn't bother her, I let it hang from her shirt.
'Mami' She groans, rubbing the sleep off her eyes adorably
'Hi baby girl, was that a good nap?' I wonder softly
'It was, mami.' She answers, hugging herself up to me and looking up at me with her cheeks slightly pink
'What is it, princesa?' I wonder, giggling at her cuteness
'Your shirt mami...' She trails off
'Oh' I chuckle, kissing the side of her head and hugging her close. 'Mi bella princesa was just so comfy on my arms that I didn't wanted to bother her.' I caress her face, she smiles wide
'I love to be on your arms mami, always.' She kisses my cheek, I can't help my smile
'And I love to have you on my arms baby girl.' I say, starting to rub her tummy. 'Wanna see the snow, honey?' I wonder, she perks up
'I do mami!' She exclaims, standing up and suddenly my arms feel a lil empty. 'Lets go mami! Lets go!' She frantically points at the door, attempting to pull me out of the sofa
'Hold on, you little bouncy jelly bean.' I chuckle while quickly pulling my shirt down, stand up and gather her close. 'We need to get ready, it's cold outside princesa.'
She's too adorable when she's excited my gosh, it melts my heart away.
'Alright mami'
We get to my room where I change her into a thermal long sleeve shirt, two pair of socks and thermal sweatpants. I get in the same shirt, a pair of socks and thermal leggins. After it we walk to stand close to the sliding door that lead us to the backyard deck where I put on her boots, coat, scarf, gloves and beanie, then I follow. When it's all done I pick up the bag containing the snowan's dress up while she skips towards the sliding door...
'I don't want you falling so lets walk carefully baby, it could be sliperry on the deck.' I state
'Got it, mami.' She nods, holding my hand
I entwine my fingers with hers before opening the door. We walk over the deck with some caution because even if it was covered with snow I want to make sure my baby doesn't fall over. Once we're on the grass area she picks up a bit of snow.
'Snow mami!' She excitedly exclaims
'That's right, bunny.' I smile fondly. 'There's quite some snow.'
'Can we build a snowman mami, like Frozen?' She jumps around excitedly, I can't help but giggle at all of her goddamn cuteness, the movie reference only adding up to it
'Of course, love! We've been wanting to, right?' I smile so big that my cheeks hurt while her face lights up
'Lets go, mami!' She jumps around some more, then tilts her head to the side. 'But how do we make one, mami?'
My heart breaks just a little. How come she hasn't ever made a snowman? I know that where she used to live when she was younger it didn't snow that much but.. let me not dwell on that. My baby. Making the best snowman in this damned world with her. That's what's important right now.
'Lets make a snowball first, boo.' I answer, she picks up some snow and balls it up
'Like this, mommy?' She wonders right when I get one snowball done
'Just like that sweetie, great job.' I kiss her cheek, she smiles big. 'Now lets put em together and roll it on the floor so it gets reaaaally big, that'll be the base.'
'Got it, mami!'
I merge the snowballs together, then we roll it through the floor. When the snowball gets big enough, we put it under the leaveless magnolia tree where we have decided the snowman was going to be built. Following that we make the second snowball, obviously slightly smaller.
'Alright honey, lets take it up.' I say, we place it over the base. 'There we go, it's almost done!'
'Yay mami!' She exclaims, balling up some more snow
We make the final snowball, place it on top and just like that, our snowman is done. Well, not yet...
'Alright, who wants to dress up the snowman!' I exclaim playfully, holding up the bag
'Me mami! Me!'
'Alright honey, how about we make them a face and a shirt first?' I wonder, holding up the zip lock containing the coals while she frantically nods
'Which one first, mommy?'
'Put the eyes first, honey.' I answer, handing her two pieces of coal which she goes and places on the corresponding space. 'Great job, babygirl!' I kiss her cheek, she giggles. 'Lets make him a big smile now!'
We build the smile together, then she puts the buttons to the shirt right after.
'Smiley mami!'
'That's right princesa, we made them a great smile!' I poke her sides lightly, she giggles some more and I pull her close. 'Now put the nose, baby.' I hand her the carrot, she does as said. 'Great job honey, lets dress em up now.'
We put the scarf together, raising my baby- who lets out a fit of giggles- up a bit so she can put on the hat.
'We made it mami!' She celebrates
'That's right princesa, they're looking great right?!' I say as excitedly, pulling her close from behind
'They do, mami!' She smiles up at me so big and suddenly I feel like crying out of happiness
No damn tears Ayanna, be strong for your baby.
'And you know what's the best thing, my love?' I wonder, kissing her cheek multiple times to which she giggles again and it's music to my ears
'No, mami.' She answers, her starry eyes looking into mine
'That we made it together.' I smile, giving her a eskimo kiss and when we go apart, I see tears wallowing on her eyes. 'What's wrong, little love?' I wonder, the tears rolling down her cute cheeks
'I...' She trails off, I hold her face gently, lovingly. 'I'm just so happy, mami.' She smiles bigger than her face could fit
Right there I hug her tightly, feeling the way she immediately hugs herself into me and I tenderly rub her back...
'I'm so glad sweetie, so glad.' I snuggle her close, leaving three kisses on the side of her head before looking back at her pretty eyes. 'Nothing makes mami happier than making her princesa happy.'
'Mami! I love you!' She jumps into me, I am quick to catch her
'I love you too baby girl.' I pull apart to look at her gorgeous face, just because I want her to see how happy she makes me as well. 'I love you to infinity.'
She simply smiles so so big again, hugging herself into me. I gently pick her up- which wasn't too hard considering I've been working out a bit more so I can pick her up better- and carry her back inside. Once there, I put my baby on her feet so we can take off our winter gear. We get to my room where we take off the thermal clothes and I cuddle her close once we're in our undies cuz why not, I always love me some skin to skin contact and I know very well that she also does, so much that she snuggles into me while I pat her booty comfortingly. Just like that..
The best snow day of my life ends.
