Stella's pov: it's been a couple days since that scary engine call that we went on I know it's part of the job but it was still a little scary for me to see my fiancé almost get killed. Yesterday I took Kelly to the spot I almost lost him almost a year ago and and I talked to him how I want this to be now the spot I marry him which he agrees to and we went in set up the location and set a date, Right now it's the morning of shift and we are waking up on the floor together
S= i'm thinking we don't have to go to work anymore do anything really
K= yeah
S= yeah
S= we picked a wedding date and a place we're all set
K= we got all we need
S= yeah we do
We enjoy a few more minutes of being in the quiet before we head off to work right when we get to work truck, squad and ambulance get called to help a worker that is hanging really high in the air so squad and Gallogo and do their thing By rescuing the worker , Toward the end of shift I am walking towards the bunker room when Gallo comes toward me
BG= yo Lieutenant
S= hi
BG= thank you for letting me moonlight on the crane call with squad that was a blast
S=I just wanted to get that poor guy down whatever it took
BG= yeah absolutely I'm gonna try out for squad I just want to get that out there because there's this whole thing of Casey while back where he heard you know through the Grapevine that I was dancing around the subject and I wanted to make sure you heard it from me first
S= well thank you for the heads up
BG= yeah
S= yeah
K= hey what's up
S= so you have been training with Gallo
K= yeah I told you about that
S= I thought that was a one time thing like you were helping him get caught up so he could join a class midstream
K= yeah and then we kept it up here and there
S= I thought you were teaching at the Academy
K= I am but I also do sessions of Gallo when I have the time I'm not hiding anything from you Stella
S= Kelly truck is not the farm team for squad I can't have you poaching my clue especially when I just got everybody working together as a team
K= Poaching is a strong word the fact is Gallo and I started having this conversation way back when Casey was running 81 and then it got serious when Pelham was his lieutenant
S= okay well I am in charge of truck now and I'm telling you to back off
At that point I was pissed off so I just left him, like why is it when I get my team together after finally becoming Lieutenant when all the sudden one of them wants to go somewhere else. Right now we're at Molly's after shift and I hand Kelly his beer.
K= thank you
H= hey
S= hey
H= is everything Okay over there
S= he uh he has been trying to lure gallo over to squad... yeah so I had to tell him to back off
H= good for you cause those squad Lieutenants
S= you know he knows how important my team is to me making sure it all gels, The everyone fun fills a certain role Gallo's my linchpin you know and if he thought he was going to get away with it because I'm madly in love with him he now knows otherwise
H= yeah
I walk away from Herman and Gallo sits by Kelly
BG= hey Lieutenant
K= Gallo
BG= so the crane rescue was awesome
K= sure was
BG= I mean the second you know the second I went over the edge I knew it's its time, train with you, Classes I'm taking him ready for squad it's time most sure I've ever been about anything in my entire life
K= that's good but remember it's a hi bar you gotta clear you know there's no shame in getting as much experience on truck as you can before taking a leaf
BG= you don't have to worry about me you said it yourself on that call I passed your test with flying colors I wanna be on squad will you help me get there
K= we'll see
BG= thank you Lieutenant
I hope Kelly can understand why I was mad at him. I finished my shift at Mollys then me and Kelly head home and go straight to bed
Kelly's pov: it's been a couple days since the FAA thought I took the missing piece to the engine but I got it back and make sure a highschooler didn't get in trouble for it so that he can go off to college in the next few months. Also a couple days ago Stella took me to the place where she almost lost me in that boat accident that happened almost a year ago. And she tells me that this is where she wants to get married and it is a perfect place so we go and pick a date and everything is great until the other day on Jeff when she learns that gala all the sudden wanted to join squad she didn't like that and told me to back off, but honestly I have no clue if we can even add another squad member so the next day on shift I go to the chief office and wait on him so can answer my question
K= Morning chief sorry I didn't mean to ambush you
CB= what can I do for you
K= I just had a quick question that I think I already know the answer to but there's no way we can expand squads roster and add another firefighter bite I mean even an harness is squeezing an extra nickel out of the budget these days
CB= well it's funny that you should bring that up because there's been more than a few conversations down at HQ about exactly that
K= really
CB= yeah if you really think you need an extra body I'm more than happy to throw my support behind the idea I bet we could push that though
K= let me think about it then I'll get back to you thank you chief
I go and start thinking about if I wanted to have galow on my team while also pissing off Stella, about 30 minutes later I go toward my squad table when I see that Stella is in the truck doing some thing so I decided to go join her
S= mouch you look different it's a new haircut
K= what this whole coaching Gallo thing I didn't think you would be so upset about it because it's not like you found him and mold with him from raw clay but he's an important part of your team and I get that
S= thank you
K= When I started out I was wearing a truck under Carl Grissom
S= grizz sure
K= and long before he was a fire commissioner he was my mentor
S= yeah I know Kelly
K= but I'd always had my eye on squad and once I thought I was ready I tried out for squad three, A few weeks go by and I never got a response then one day I'm at the commissary and I bump into Captain Wallace Boden he says " Kelly sevride I thought you wanted to join us on squad 3" it turns out weeks prior I had been excepted but I never got the notification because grizz intercepted it and threw it in the trash,....... Yeah he wanted to keep me to himself if he didn't give a damn what I wanted from my career that was the beginning of the rift between us we get along OK now but things won't ever go back to the way it was
I leave her with that maybe she will see where I'm coming about with Gallo
General pov: after Kelly left us alone after their little talk she goes to find Gallo on the apparatus floor doing some drills
S= Gallo
BG= Hey Lieutenant
S= hi
BG= what's up
S= I don't think I told you how impressive you were on that crane rescue
BG= oh uh thanks
S= I want you to know whatever feelings I have about losing you from truck I would never wanna stand in your way of your clear advancements so just don't worry about me you gotta follow your heart
BG= yeah okay
Still alive scala to do what he was doing now it's time for shift to be over and Khalid decides to go ask for some advice from Lieutenant Pelham on what he should do with this predicament
JP= what the hell is this now
BG= hey Lieutenant
JP= what's the matter you miss me
BG=ah A little bit maybe how's life over here at trucks 72
JP= it's pretty great actually I mean you know these guys needed a little work but we're getting there
BG= cool cool cool
JP= I do miss your cooking though
BG= oh I get it
JP= so what brings you here
BG= if you have a minute I could use your advice on something
JP= yeah ( starts to tell him)
BG= I've been working really hard to get to this point but now it's within my reach I just wanna make sure it's the right move
JP= I don't know Gallo this doesn't seem like much of a predicament to me. Severide is a legend he thinks you're ready abs Kidd's giving you her blessing I get your reticence Chuck 81's been a good place for you and I know Kidd's A great leader the kind that does whatever it takes to build your crew up even if that's just sending them up a tree for a cat
BG= wait you sent me up the tree
JP= well yes but it was Kidd's idea I was ready to cut bail and let the cat sorted out but you'd been beating yourself up lately and she thought you could use a win and she was right look maybe sevride isn't quite as nurturing or turned into the needs of his crew but ( bells go off) hey you got this don't overthink it the only person who knows what's right for you is you I'll see you around
Jason leaves gallo with that later on that night Gallo goes to find Stella at Mollys
S= gallo hey what'll you have hazy IPA
BG= no actually I was just hoping to talk to you
S= um i'm a little busy right now
BG= i'll make it quick
S= Kay All right come on ( walk away from the bar) what's up
BG = I just want to let you know I've been doing a lot of thinking and I've decided i'm going stick it out on truck for a while
S= wait no gallo if severide can find a spot for you on squad you're a fool not to take the opportunity
BG= maybe but you told me to follow my heart and my heart is telling me I won't feel good about abandoned you soon after you took over as Lieutenant of 81.
S= I specifically told you not to worry about me I will be fine
BG= I know I know squad can wait the fact is that you've always had my back you always looked out for me way too soon to break up this great team.
S= i'm gonna get you that beer on me
BG= oh
A few hours later after shift at Molly's still it goes home and starts wedding checks for the wedding that's coming up
K= dessert station 12 bucks a person extra large dance floor for $700 what the hell is an extra large dance floor
S= that is ..
K= damn these package fees are really adding up maybe we could do without the premium liquor upgrade
S= Oh the way our crew drinks the venue will lose money on that one trust me hate you only get married for the last time once.... I thought we did a nice job handling you know our first professional disagreement no major drama
K= of course you did you got your way it happens a lot.
Kelly then just walks away Leaving stella confuse the rest of the night they don't talk anything to each other
Authors note: what did you think of the actual episode, I loved the start of the episode because they were happy and in love in the living room but once she learned that Gallo wanted to go out for squad everything was kind of a fight. Of course they got a add drama right before the wedding but come on the drama could've been avoided if they talked it out before hand. I'm more on stalla side she should've known a little more in advance than now. Also I hate it Kelly's comment about her always getting her way yes she may do get her well the time but that's because she is right half the time. I hope you like this chapter
