Ryder's POV
I feel around for Flame but only come across cold sheets, my eyes snap open and I look around the room for her. I strain my ears to see if Flame was in the shower, nothing. I see a note on the bedside table with my name on it, I pick it up cautiously not knowing what it might say.
Ryder
Didn't want to wake you so I decided to head over to the pack house for some fun, feel free to join me
Your mate
I breathe a sigh of relief glad that the note didn't contain bad news, I walk into the bathroom and see some fresh clothes for me. I take a quick shower and head downstairs to the kitchen, I grab a granola bar and head out across the street to where Flame said she would be. Flame, you still at the pack house? I ask her. Yeah, I am. She replies and I get a rush of happiness that wasn't mine. Our mate's happy. Econ sighs, I smile to myself and step into the pack house.
Follow the laughter and you'll find me. She hints, I laugh and greet my future in-laws who were helping out here. I get another wave happiness from Flame and hear children's laughter, I follow the sound up 3 flights of stairs and into a game room for kids. "OK, OK. I'll play." I hear Flame's voice but can't see her, all the kids giggle and move apart from each other revealing a blind folded Flame, I lean against the door frame with my arms crossed just watching her. "Someone spin me." Flame says and a little girl with pig tails spins her around, Flame stops spinning around and sticks her hands out and walks around trying to catch the kids.
The kids giggle a she nearly walks into the wall. "Hmm, I wonder where they are." Flame says curiously, she walks past me and slips. I catch her with one arm around her stomach and the other holding her shoulder, she removes the blindfold and grins sheepishly. "Again, again" The kids shout, Flame laughs and stands up straight. "OK, but Ryder's the one that is blindfolded." Flame says, my eyes widen in surprise. Everything goes black and I feel myself be spinned around. "Pretend that you can't smell their scents." Flame whispers, I hum in response and stop spinning. I put my hands in front of me and start feeling around, I hear a giggle to my right and I spin to my right and walk that way. "Wall!" Flame shouts, I freeze and stretch my hands in front and sure enough there's a wall there.
I hear a giggle and I turn around and come in contact with skin, sparks shoot up my arms informing me that I have caught my mate. I hear a child wailing and Flame pulls away from my touch, I remove the blindfold to see Flame heading out the door. I follow after her into a nursery. "Mrs.Coolman go back to sleep, I'll look after him." Flame says and the lady walks out leaving us with a crying child. How do you stop a child from crying? I ask my wolf. How am I supposed to know? He huffs. Flame cradles the infant in her arms and sits in the rocking chair, she hums a lullaby but the child continues to cry. Flame starts to sing a lullaby to the child.

The wailing stops and he starts to close his eyes, he sucks his thumb and a smile graces Flame's features. She returns the child to his crib and kisses his forehead, she turns to me and a look of confusion appears on her face. "What?" She asks, tilting her head in a cute way. My smile widens. "Nothing, just thinking." I say and lead her out of the room.
Flame's POV
Ryder leads me out of the child's room, I know what he was thinking about. He was thinking about having pups with us. Aiyana sighs happily, I smile and walk downstairs towards the kitchen only to run into Nicole. "Flame, I need your help!" She says, I nod. "Ryder why don't you hang out with Hunter while I talk to Nicole?" I suggest, he nods and Nicole and I walk upstairs to my room that I have for when I can't be stuffed walking across the street.
"So what's up?" I plop down onto my bed only to have Nicole run into the bathroom, I follow her and hold her hair back for her as she vomits in my toilet. She stands up and washes her mouth out to get rid of the bile taste, Nicole starts crying and I sit her on my bed. I rub her back in a soothing manner, I kneel down next to her. "What's wrong?" I ask softly, she sniffs and looks at me. "I-I think I'm p-p-pregnant. Could you get me some t-tests?" She explains, I nod and run out of my room. I walk over to Mrs. Alice's room, I knock on her bedroom door. "Alpha." She bows in respect. "You don't have to call me that and do you have any pregnancy tests? They're for my friend." I explain, she nods and returns with 3 tests. I thank her and run back to my room, I give her the tests and she goes into my bathroom to check.
She comes out after a minute. "How long do you have to wait?" I ask her, she holds up five fingers. I put on a countdown on my phone, five minutes later the timer goes off and Nicole turns to me. "C-can you ch-check?" I nod and walk in, I look at the tests and throw them away. I walk outside to her and she looks up at me. "Positive." I say after taking in a deep breath, Nicole bursts into tears. I sit down next to her and rub her back again. "What if Hunter doesn't want kids yet? What if the child doesn't like me? What if I'm not a good mother? Oh what do I do Flame?" Nicole voices her insecurities to me. "Hey, you'll be an amazing mother and Hunter will want the child. Even if I have something to do with it." I coo in her ear softly, she nods and her eyes start to close. "Get some rest." I whisper and tuck her in.
I tip toe out of the room and sprint downstairs to the game room that had all sorts of video games. I find the guys in a very concentrated game of Call of Duty, I clear my throat getting their attention. "Oh hey baby. What did Nicole want to talk about?" Ryder stands up and walks up to me, I turn to face Hunter. "Hunter you better as hell accept it." I growl out confusing him. "Accept what?" He asks with narrowed eyes. "You'll see." I say in a sing song voice, I grab Ryder's hand and practically drag him out of the pack house and to our home. Ryder chuckles and I give him a childish grin, we walk up to my room and I shut my door. "OK, so don't tell Hunter cause Nicole wants to but she's pregnant." I say in one breath, Ryder has the look of disbelief on his face. I laugh and sit on his lap. "What? When?" He whispers. "Last night they mated at the ball in one of the private rooms, I asked her if she and Hunter used protection she freaks and went to talk to Hunter." I laugh out, he chuckles and I lay my head on his chest.
"Flame?" Ryder asks, "hmm" I reply too busy playing with his shirt button. Oh how I would love to rip that shirt and... No stop bad Flame. You want too. Aiyana taunts me, I mentally huff at her. "Do you ever want kids?" His question makes me freeze and I look up at him, he has an emotionless expression but I see the flicker of hope in his eyes. I smile and nod, he grins and leans down to kiss me with passion, want and need. I kiss him back with equal passion, his tongue swipes my bottom lip but I purse my lips to tease him, his hands trail down my body leaving a trail of fire and sparks, his hands pinch my thighs making me moan. Ryder uses this to his advantage and plunges his tongue into my mouth. I moan and I feel him smirk against my mouth, his mouth moves down my jaw to my neck leaving open mouthed kisses, he nibbles on my mark and I moan loudly. You can assume what happened next.
The next morning.
I sigh happily and open my eyes, I look to my right and see that Ryder's gone. I rub my eyes tiredly and hear the sizzling of bacon cooking informing me that Ryder was downstairs and in the kitchen. I wrap the sheets tightly around my naked body and walk into the bathroom, I stop to admire my mark that Ryder lay claim to. The mark is to show other wolves that, that particular wolf is taken. The mark had a wolf standing on a rock howling at the moon with Ryder's full name transcripted underneath. I step into the shower and lather on my shampoo and conditioner, I feel the hot water soothe the sore muscles from last nights physical activity.
I put on baggy leggings and a singlet that shows my mark, satisfied I walk downstairs to see Ryder hunched up over the stove. I walk up behind him and hug his waist, he tenses up and then relaxes at my touch. He slowly turns around and I peck his lips, I pull away and he pouts. I laugh and grab a water bottle from the fridge, I take a swig and make a face. I look down at the label and it says soda water. "Yuck" I groan and put the bottle back, Ryder laughs and hands me a glass of water. I sit down on a bar stool as Jason and Ashley walk in, I throw back my head and sniff the air. "You mated!!" I shout in unison with Jason, Ryder laughs at our outburst.
Hey Aiyana, how are you feeling? I say trying to make conversation with her. Good Aiyana yips. I eat the breakfast that Ryder made and head upstairs, I sit down at my desk and see a white envelope with my name on it. I open the letter and it says:
Dear Flay
It has been awhile since I last heard or saw from you, I have found my mate after a 4 year search. My mate was an omega in the pack lunar eclipse, I personally hate that pack for abusing my mate since she was 6. She ran away from her pack and stumbled across my territory and to think I nearly killed her for trespassing! It is Hannah's (my mate) 18th birthday on the 9th which is in about a week, there is a party held to celebrate her birthday and I will be introducing her to the pack.
You have to attend as you are my best friend, don't forget to bring your mate. The party is formal so you will need to wear a gown, sorry bout it ;-)

I laugh and shake my head, I put the letter down and head out to look for Ryder.
