"I think it would be super important for us to try and get as many houses off the market as possible. I know it's not the easiest, but we can do it guys!" Aaron encouraged
The conference room erupted in hums and nods
"We need some good publicity since one of our guys is currently on TMZ for a scandal right now" Aaron added, clearly talking about Dalton
Kelly and I side eyed each other as we tired to hold our laughs in. There isn't t a lot of us here in office, but for the few of us that were, I just know Dalton would be embarrassed if he was here
"That's all. Thank you everyone" Aaron finished as he dismissed us
Soon everyone began filing out of the conference room
"Y/n can you hang back a minute?" Aaron asked me
I nodded
"Good luck" Kelly squeezed my shoulder in a comforting manner
"What's up?' I asked once everyone else was out
"How is Ariana doing?" He asked me
"She's fine. Just focusing on herself, friends, family, and music I guess" I smile at him
"That's good. I hope she's not letting Dalton's actions get to her. I always thought he was such a good kid" he added
"Yea no, she's all good. Dalton is just going through his rebel phase or something" I laughed lightly
"Yea well his rebel phase got him and our company on TMZ" Aaron laughed back
"It'll blow over soon" I assured him
"I sure hope so" he replied
I nodded
"Have a good day sir" I smiled one last time before walking out of the conference room and back to my office
"Hello" Ariana said from the black leather couch as I stepped into office
"Jesus!" I jumped
"Sorry, did I scare you?" She giggled
"Yes" I held my chest as I closed my door
"Poor baby" she walked over to me and kissed me
Luckily the blinds were down and closed
"What are you doing here?" I asked
"Just wanted to see you" she smiled as she sat back down on the couch
"Did you drive?" I asked
"Of course not, I want to go home with you so I took an Uber" she replied
I nodded
"Come sit next to me" she patted the spot next to her
"I gave to work" I gestured to my desk
"Now" she said
I did as told and immediately sat down next to her
"Where were you?" She asked as she put her legs over mine
"In a meeting" I replied as I placed my hand on her thighs
"What was it about?" She asked
"Just about getting more houses off of the market" I said
She nodded
"How are you doing today?" I asked
"I'm good, I just missed you" she smiled gently
"I missed you too" I told her
"When can you come home?" She asked me
I looked at the watch on my wrist for the time
"In about an hour or so" I said
"Okay" she replied
"But I sent out all of my emails and called everyone today" I said
"So we could leave now?" She asked
"Yea, I just wanted to get all of my hours" I said
"Then we can stay, I don't mind waiting with you" she told me as she caressed my cheek
"You're sure?" I asked
"Yea, only if you give me a kiss though" she smiled
I couldn't help but to smile back as I leaned forward to kiss her. The kiss was gentle, like we haven't seen or kissed each other in ages
"When we get home though, I want to ask you something" she said once we pulled away
I swallowed hard
"It's nothing bad, honey" she assured me
"Oh okay" I nodded
"I promise" she said as she ran her finger across my bottom lip
I nodded and she kissed me

"Thank you, that was really good" Ariana told me as we finished eating
"Of course, baby" I said as the nickname rolled off my tongue with ease
I took note of her smile when I said it
"Now let's do the dishes so we can watch something" she added
"I'll wash them. just go relax" I smiled at her
"No, you already cooked for me after working all day. In fact, let me do the dishes. You go relax" she told me
"No way" I shook my head
"Please?" She asked
I shook my head again
"So stubborn" she replied
I couldn't help but to laugh
"I'm going to help with them" she told me
I knew I wasn't going to win on this so I just let her
"Fine, you can dry" I told her
"That's not even a real job" she replied
"Yes it is" I told her
She pouted
"You'll still be helping" I pointed out
"Fine" she gave in
I smiled as I handed her a dry towel
"Oh so what did you want to ask me?" I asked as I handed her a cup to dry
"Oh uh" she hesitated
I gave her a comforting look to tell her its okay
"Well I have an event coming up" she started
"Ooo what event?" I asked
"A movie premier for a movie that I played a small role in" she told me
"What movie?" I asked
"Don't Look Up. It comes out next month" she replied
I nodded
"And I can have a few guests... would you want to come with me? I understand if not I know crowds can be gross and scary and-" she began to ramble
I looked at her with knitted eyebrows. I can tell this means something to her and she actually wants me there
"If not I can ask Victoria, my mom, Courtney, or someone. I just thought maybe-" she cut herself off as she scratched the back on her neck shyly
"Sure, I'll go with you" I smiled
"Really?" She asked
"Yea, I'll be there" I told her
"Are you sure? Because you know there's going to be cameras and news reporters and interviews and just a lot of people so really, it's fine if you don't want to go, I understand" she told me
"Yea no it's fine. The media doesn't bother me" I reassured her
"Yea?" She asked just to confirm
"Yea" I confirmed
She smiled and let out a breath she was seemingly holding
"Thank you" she set the towel down and wrapped her arms around my neck
"Don't thank me, I would love to be there for you" I told her sincerely
She leaned up to kiss me gently
"When is it?' I asked
"Next Friday" she replied
"Okay" I said
"You're the best" she kissed me one last time
"I know" I said jokingly
She pulled away and picked the towel up to slap me with it. I couldn't help but to smile
"We're done" I told her
"What?" She asked with worry laced in her voice
"With the dishes" I told her
"Oh" she said sounding relieved
"What did you think I meant?" I asked
"I thought you..." she didn't finish
"God Ariana, what kind of shitty people have you been with?" I asked
"All kinds" she replied with a gentle laugh
I shook my head and that thought
"Now lets go watch something" I said holding my hand out for her take
She did as I led us into the living room
