Ariana's POV
Y/n has pretty much been sleeping the whole day and I have been in the same upright position pretty much the whole day. Every time I would try to get up, she would groan and beg me to stay, so I did. I just didn't have the heart to tell her no. It's around nine pm now and neither of us have eaten anything yet. My stomach was growling, practically begging for food. Despite how late it is, I decided that I couldn't take it anymore
"Y/n, you have to get off of me" I gently shook her
"No, why?" She asked
"We haven't eaten and I'm hungry. I know you have to be too" I said
"I am" she sat up as she rubbed her eyes
"Do you want anything specific?" I asked
"No" she replied
"I'm going to make some soup" I stated before getting off of the bed
Once I got off, I felt a soreness in my lower back so I tried my best to stretch it out without her seeing
"Does your back hurt?" She asked me
"No, I just needed to stretch" I lied
Luckily she can't tell when I'm lying, so she just nodded
"I'm coming" y/n said as she began to sit at the edge of the side of the bed
"You don't need to come, I can bring it to you" I said in return as I leaned down to touch her forehead
"I'll just come down and lay on the couch. I don't want you to go too far" the younger girl slightly whined as she placed her feet on the ground
"Are you going to make it down the stairs?" I asked
"Yea, I'll be alright" y/n nodded as she picked up a blanket that sat on a chair in the corner of her room and wrapping it around herself
We soon made our way to the bottom step and she immediately headed for the couch as I made my way to the kitchen
"I'll be right back" I said turning around and looking at the slightly pale woman
Y/n didn't reply, instead she gave me a subtle nod that could've been easily missed if I wasn't looking at her. Before I made it fully into the kitchen, I saw y/n grab the remote and curl up into a ball on the couch with the blanket wrapped around her to replace my presence
"Just yell if you need anything, I'm right across the hall" I told her
Again, no response
"Please no carrots" y/n called after a few seconds of silence
"I know" I told her
I began to make some soup.. from a box of course, but I did pick out any of the carrots that were seen. I know y/n feels awful right now and would rather just not eat, but it's important to stay hydrated and fed while recovering from a cold. Especially if its hitting you as hard as it's hitting y/n.
It didn't take long for the soup to heat up on the stove and for me to dish it into a bowl for y/n and I. I put all of the carrots I took out from her bowl and put them into mine because I could use all of the eye strength I can get
"Here you go" I announced as I was walking back into the living room
Y/n sat up with a groan and scooted closer to me when I took a seat next to her
"Thank you" she smiled
"You're welcome" I told her
We ate in silence as we watched a little tv. I hope that the soup helped any soreness in her throat she might be feeling and I hope she's able to keep it down
"Ariana" she whined
"Hm?" I hummed
"There's a carrot" she frowned
I couldn't help but to laugh
"I'm sorry, here" I said digging my spoon into her bowl and taking it out
"You know I don't like carrots" she whined once more
"I'm sorry, but it was so small, you wouldn't even taste it" I told her
"Yes I would've" she said
"Well its out now" I told her
She couldn't protest anymore because it was in fact out of her bowl and now in mine. We ate for a few more minutes in silence and when we were done, I took our bowls to the kitchen and gave them a quick rinse before putting them into the dishwasher.
"Are you coming back?" Y/n called out
"I'm coming right now" I said as I made my way into the living room
As soon as I sat next to her, she wasted no time in clinging onto my side
"Is this okay?" She asked
"Of course" I replied as I wrapped my arms around her
As selfish as it sounds, I like that y/n needs me the way that she does right now. I'm starting to like clingy and needy y/n, and seeing this side of her that is usually tucked away. She's always making sure I'm okay and comfortable, but now that she needs me for a change, it feels good just to be able to help.
"Can you just stay like this?" I asked during a commercial break
"What do you mean?" Y/n asked
"All cuddly and clingy" I admitted
That caused y/n to giggle slightly before she spoke
"Little do you know, I'm always like this. I just don't show it" y/n admitted as her face tinted red
"Please show it more often. You know how clingy I am and I don't hold back.. neither should you" I told her
"You will most definitely get annoyed with me" she laughed
"No I won't. I like this side of you. Don't act all tough around me because deep down, you're just big softie" I told her
"I don't act tough around you" she fought
"Yes you do, and while I appreciate you not wanting to annoy me, I love taking care of you for a change" I admitted
"We'll see" the taller girl spoke
I sighed before I spoke
"You've seen me at my seemingly worse states.. well as worse as they can be in this very moment. I think it'll be okay for you to be more vulnerable with me" I told her
"You better be careful what you wish for. Un-sick and needy y/n won't be anywhere as entertaining or drowsy. I just don't want you to get annoyed and tired of me" she admitted
"I'm sure. It's okay to hug and hold each other every once in a while. Especially when it's just one of those days" Ariana said
"Okay, remember that" y/n agreed as she moved closer to me
"I will remember that" I laughed lightly
"Who knew you were so caring" she joked which caused me to scoff
"What is that supposed to mean?" I asked
"You're just never like this. Like you're in full on mom mode right now" she explained
"Mom mode?" I asked with a laugh
"Yea" she replied with a nod
"I'd like to think of it as wife mode" I stated
That caused me to slightly freeze in my spot. I don't know why those words just slipped out
"I mean- I didn't mean- I wasn't implying" I stumbled over my words
"I know what you meant" y/n giggled slightly
My cheeks tinted a light shade of pink as I began to grow nervous
"I think I'm going to have to agree with you. Either way, you would be an excellent wife" she stated
My cheeks probably turned even more pink if that was even possible
"You think so?" I asked
"Oh yea! Whoever marries you, let alone dates you is one lucky bloke" she replied
"Bloke?" I asked with a laugh
"I don't know where that came from" she laughed with me
"Can you say it in a British accent like I imagined?" I asked
"Whoever marries, let alone dates you is one lucky bloke" y/n repeated in a British accent
"Very well done Miss Russo" I said in a British accent as well
"Well thank you Miss Grande" she continued
"Seems like you're feeling a bit better" I said in my normal voice
"No, I still need you to hold me" she said as she held onto my tighter
"I'm not going anywhere" I said tracing circles on her back
"Good" she replied
