Y/n POV
The sun peering through my curtains wakes me up unpleasantly. I feel the bed next to me to find my phone. Once I found it, I checked the time and saw that it was almost nine in the morning. I decided to throw my legs over the bed and take yet another shower. I did my usual routine, got out, got dressed, did my skin care routine, looked in the mirror to see the now purplish red marks on my neck, and lastly put a little bit of makeup on. I wasn't even going to bother trying to cover them up since I'll be home all day and I have no green concealer
Once I was satisfied, I grabbed my phone and made my way downstairs to the kitchen to make breakfast.
"Good morning" I was met by Ariana leaning on the counter with a cup of what seems to be hot tea. She didn't even bother to look up from her cup
"Good morning" I replied back with a smile
"How'd you sleep?" She asked stirring her tea as I walked around her to the coffee maker
"Good, and you?" I asked
"Good" she with replied with a smile
"Good, I'm glad the mattress didn't bother you too much" I said jokingly with my back turned towards her
"Shut up" she laughed
Once my coffee was done, I took a sip still facing the coffee maker
"How was the call with Dalton?" I asked looking to see how much coffee we have left
"You know how he is. He just apologized for being busy. Same shit he always says" she said
I just nodded even though she probably couldn't see it because our backs were facing each other
"He sounded like he was at a party or something though" she replied
I shook my head at his behavior as I walked to stand right next to her
"I don't know what's up with- oh my god" Ariana stopped mid sentence and gasped
"What?" I asked
"What happened to your neck?" She asked as she touched the marks that she made
"I don't know you tell me" I said hinting at her
"What do you mean?" She asked
I tilted my head and gave her a look
"I did that?" She asked
"Yea" I nodded
"No way" she said
"Yes way" I replied
"I'm really sorry. I don't know what took over my last night" she started apologizing
"I should be the one apologizing. I'm the one that let it happen" I said
"I'm the one that started it" she said
"I'm-" I started but she cut me off
"Just shut up and accept my apology" she said
"Oh, uh okay" I said
"Tell me you accept" she said
"I accept your apology" I said
"Good" she replied as she took a sip of her tea
I cleared my throat and set my coffee cup down
"Speaking of last night, I think we can both agree that it was a mistake and it didn't mean anything" she started
"Yea I agree" I replied
"We're both in relationships.. with brothers at that and it just shouldn't have happened" she added
"I agree. We were both just feeling vulnerable and the moment took over us" I said
"Yes exactly" she agreed
"We just needed comfort and we were there for each other and it went too far, which again, shouldn't have happened" I added
She nodded in agreement as she tilted her head and looked from my eyes to my lips. I couldn't help but do the same
"And it will never happen again" Ariana added as she continued to look at me
"Ever again" I said
"Oh my god" Ariana sighed as she aggressively set her mug down on the counter and began jumped on me and kiss me, this time with hunger
It didn't take long for me to kiss back with the same hungry feeling
"Oh my god this is so wrong" she said as I trailed down to her neck with my lips
"So wrong and we should stop" I said into her neck
"We should" she agreed
But we didn't. We continued to kiss as I picked her up and set her on the counter and stood between her legs. Ariana let our slight whimpers here and there which only made me realize just how wrong this really is
I pulled away in order to catch my breath, but Ariana wasn't having it. She guided me by the back of my head to her neck again
"Kiss below my ear" she practically demanded
"Here?" I asked
"Yes right there" she squirmed
We were soon interrupted by the doorbell ringing. I disconnected from Ariana's neck to look in that general direction
"Just leave it" she grabbed my face and pulled me in for a kiss
The doorbell rang again, and again, and again
"Y/n it's Dakota" the mystery person on the other side of the door spoke
"Shit" I said as I quickly pulled away
"Shit" Ariana copied
I quickly backed away as Ariana got off the counter
"Go clean the lipgloss off of your face and put a hoodie on to cover your neck" Ariana said as she wiped her swollen lips
I just nodded
"I'll answer the door and tell him you'll be down in a bit" she added as she fixed her hair
"Okay" I said just standing there
"Go" she urged me
I nodded and quickly ran up the stairs to wipe her lipgloss off and fix myself. I then quickly threw in a hoodie to cover the marks on my neck and adjusted the hood to do just that.
"Oh hey Dakota, y/n is just getting dressed upstairs. She should be down in a few" I heard Ariana tell him and Dakota thank her
Once I thought I looked decent enough, I made my way downstairs to see why he was here in the first place. As I was walking down the stairs, Ariana was walking up. She sent me a wink with a thumbs up
"Oh hey.. you!" I tried to seem enthusiastic
He smiled and embraced me in a hug
"Hey" he replied
"What are you doing here?" I asked
"I just wanted to apologize for what I said last night on the phone" he started
I nodded
"I was clearly upset and I didn't know what I was saying" he added
I nodded
"I really am sorry and I hope you can forgive me" he continued
"We both said some pretty fucked up stuff. I'm sorry too" I added
"You have no reason to be sorry. Just tell me you forgive me because I really am sorry" he said
"I forgive you" I smiled
He smiled back as he scanned me
"Why are you wearing a sweater in ninety degree weather?" He asked
"It was a bit cold in the house this morning" I lied quickly
"Oh that makes sense" he nodded
I nodded back
"How's living with Ariana?" He asked
"Fine, she's a great roommate" I replied
"That's good, at least she's not one to complain like Dalton" he laughed
"Tell me about it" I laughed back
We both looked at each other for a few seconds. The environment felt like we were about to kiss
"Y/n?" He asked
"Yea?" I asked back
"I actually didn't come here just to apologize" he said
"Oh?" I questioned
"I uh-" he started
I could tell he was nervous
"What's wrong?" I asked
"I'm just going to come out and say it okay?" He asked
"Okay" I nodded
"I think we'd be better off as friends" he finally blurted out
I just nodded. I had no dramatic reaction or anything
"So you agree?" He asked
"In a way, yes" I answered
"Really? I thought you were going to be mad" he said
"No, I agree with you. Since we started dating, it just isn't like how it was when we were friends" I explained
"Yes, I one hundred percent agree with you" he said
"I think we were better as friends. We saw each other all the time and now we rarely see each other" I added
He nodded in agreement
"This won't affect the friendship?" He asked
"It doesn't have to" I said
He nodded
"Then let's not let it" he said
"Okay" I smiled
He stood up from the couch and so did I
"It feels good to get that off of my chest and to know you don't hate me" he said rubbing his heart
"I could never hate you" I replied
"Thank you" he replied with a smile
"I'll see you around" he added as he began walking to the door
"See you" I leaned up for a hug
I wanted him to know that this won't change anything. This is obviously for the better.
He hugged me back and made his way back to his car. Once I shut the door, Ariana came down the stairs
"Did you two kiss and make up?" She asked sounding hopeful
"Something like that" I said
She looked at me confused
"We actually broke up" I said
Her faced dropped
"It was a mutual decision so no feelings were hurt. It was quick and simple" I explained
"Oh really? Well that's good.. at least I think?" she questioned with a smile
I nodded
"He didn't notice?" She asked as she pointed to her neck signifying the marks on mine
"I don't think so" I replied
"Even better" she smiled
I nodded
Are we just going to ignore what happened before he rang the doorbell
"Well I'm going to go take a shower" she spoke up
I guess we are
"Okay" I smiled
I watched as she walked back up the stairs and she must've felt me looking because she turned her head and smiled at me
A/N
I've read your comments and I took the hint to have them break up
