"Are the Hyungs on their way?" Jungkook looked at himself in the mirror whilst straightening out the creases in his designer suit.
Taehyung stood beside him, doing the same, "Yup, all except Yoongi Hyung and Hobi Hyung."
He twisted his body to face the younger, "You ready, love?"
"Yeah, let's do this thing."
Taehyung chuckled, walking closer to him and side hugging him as he kissed his cheek, "I missed you. I haven't seen you all day."
Jungkook smiled, "I know, you left really early today. Couldn't even see your pretty face beside me when I woke up."
"Aww that's too bad, isn't it?"
"Mhm, it is."
Taehyung grinned, his rosy cheeks making him look adorable. Jungkook couldn't resist but slowly kiss him then and there.
"As much as I want to continue this, the people are gonna start flooding in now. And we gotta greet them. So, shall we?" He asked after pulling away from Taehyung and holding out his hand for the older to hold.
Taehyung smiled, "Yes, we shall."
Over six months had passed since Jungkook and Taehyung had gotten their dream jobs. It was December now, the couple's favourite month, for various reasons. But the main one was their two year anniversary. Jungkook had some big plans for that.
As of now, they were at Jungkook's song releasing ceremony. Two of his songs, Euphoria and Still With You had already been released. The fans loved it so much, the demand for Jungkook producing songs shot up significantly. He had already produced, composed and written 4 other songs for the company to use.
Earlier today, his third song My Time had been released which was already breaking all records. This party was to celebrate his and the artists who sung the song's success. Two similar parties for Euphoria and Still With You had already taken place in the past.
Taehyung and Jungkook's financial life had also become much, much healthier. Both of them had quit their part-time jobs now and solely focused on their main careers. Taehyung's income, though not as high as Jungkook's, was steady. The latter, on the other hand, got payed for each of his songs. He had already made a whopping twenty three million won (20,000 dollars). Though that didn't nearly match the figure to what Jungkook had before he broke off his relationship with Mr. Jeon, it was more than enough for the both of them.
"Damn, I can't believe y'all made it so soon." Jimin whistled, sitting on one of the seven chairs placed around a round table.
Taehyung chuckled and Jungkook proudly smiled, silently acknowledging the compliment.
"I know right. I was shit scared when y'all told me you were broke. Especially when you started talking about giving up the house. I'm so glad you aren't on the streets."
"I believe we're doing much better than that Joonie Hyung." Jungkook smiled again, sitting beside Taehyung.
Namjoon nodded his head in agreement, "You're right."
"Hobi and Yoongi Hyung still aren't here? The ceremony is about to start-" Taehyung began speaking, but got interrupted when a slightly higher pitched and annoyed voice erupted.
It was Yoongi, "Why the fuck did you leave us at home Jimin?!"
Jimin looked at Yoongi with surprised eyes. But anyone who knew him well enough could figure out that he was pretending, "Y'all were taking so long! I didn't wanna miss the party." He pouted.
"Hoseok was taking long, not me. Why'd you leave me behind?"
"I told y'all to be ready and in the living room by 6:30. None of you were ready, so I left." He huffed.
Yoongi rolled his eyes, "Whatever, I don't have time for this. I'm here for Kook."
"I feel flattered." Jungkook grinned.
"I can't wait to listen to the song." Hoseok cheerfully clapped. Seok Jin hummed in agreement.
Not more than five minutes later, the host walked onto the stage and began speaking. "Good evening to all of you present here, and welcome to the grand party celebrating our company's brand new song: My Time! Sung by xxx (idols' name) and produced, composed and written by none other than our favourite producer, Jeon Jungkook!"
As soon as he finished with the opening speech, a loud thunder of applauses started booming in the hall. People probably liked the song so much that there were some who were actually 'woohoo'-ing too! Jungkook looked around the room, all faces looking at him, and him only. He used to hate this kind of attention in those business parties. But the feeling he got from this was something so different. He felt proud, not scared, and elated, for people had recognised and appreciated his hard work. He grinned his signature bunny smile, still scanning the room when his eyes landed onto the people clapping the loudest for him - his best friends, sitting right next to him. The smiles and looks of pride on their faces potent enough to bring tears into the boy's eyes. But he shook them off, and stood up to speak to the people.
He picked up the mic from the table and began, "Thank you, thank you so much everybody! I never thought I would receive so much love on just my third song as a professional producer so I feel a little overwhelmed right now. But, in the best way possible. Thank you all so much for your support and believing in me. And thank you to the idols who sung this song so beautifully and did justice to my creation. Lastly, I would also want to thank my boyfriend and best friends sitting here beside me. Without them, I wouldn't have the confidence to believe in myself or my music. Thank you, and enjoy the night!"
Jungkook sat down again as another volley of claps resurfaced. He looked at his Hyungs and Taehyung fake crying and acting like the dorks that they were. He shook his head and chuckled.
Another great thing about this job was that people accepted you for who you are. Jungkook was so glad he didn't have to sign a stupid contract stating that Taehyung and his relationship had to be a secret. Though, he knew he'd have to do that as an idol. Another reason why he didn't want to choose that path.
As he sat there with the biggest smile on his face, listening to the host talking about his song, he suddenly felt Taehyung's hand creep into his lap and then tightly grabbing a hold of his own. Taehyung squeezed his hand before leaning into his ear and whispering, "I'm so proud of you Jungkook."
When Jungkook turned to look at Taehyung, he could see the older's eyes twinkling. It looked as if he was holding the entire galaxy in his eyes. But Jungkook knew it was actually because of the tears that had made way out of their ducts.
He silently cooed and started caressing Taehyung's hand with his thumb, "Don't cry, baby."
"How can I not? All of this seems so surreal."
Jungkook smiled, leaning in so he could leave a gentle kiss on Taehyung's temple, "It won't have been possible without you, you're aware of that."
Taehyung sniffled and smiled, slapping Jungkook's thigh lightly to tell him to stop making him all jittery. Jungkook chuckled and obliged, quickly picking up on what the host had been saying, he spoke, "They're gonna play the song now, listen!!"
Then, the beautiful song started playing and everybody in the room silently listened to it's melodies. Not a single person spoke, not one made any sound, all ears only tuned into listening to the music.
Once it was over, people started clapping all over again. Some even got a little emotional after reading the lyrics.
That's when Seok Jin spoke, "Damn, that song was everything. When did you grow up Kook?" He fake cried again, making Jungkook snicker.
"That's literally what the song is about." He replied, making all of his best friends laugh.
Taehyung commented, "Trust me, the song sounds a million times better in his voice."
"Of course it does. His voice is a fucking blessing." Yoongi agreed.
Taehyung nodded his head.
"Okay guys, enough about me. I'm gonna die of embarrassment if any of y'all say anything good about me again. Let's just go get food."
"Aww, look at our Kookie being all grown up and understanding. Such a big man he's become!" Hoseok spoke in a high pitched voice, teasing Jungkook and making everybody laugh.
The youngest rolled his eyes, "Yeah, real funny. C'mon let's go. I'm really hungry."
|15 MINUTES LATER|
"Kook."
"Hm?"
"Is it just me or is Chim acting kinda weird?" Taehyung asked as the two stood near the buffet, taking a second helping of their food.
Jungkook turned to look at Jimin who was seated on their designated table with a frown, "I mean, he's being uncharacteristically quiet."
"Exactly! Like normally he's all over Yoongi Hyung and Hobi Hyung. Something's definitely up."
"Go talk to him. You're his best friend."
"So are you."
"You're his best best friend Tae. You know what I'm saying."
"Okay fine. I'll go speak to him."
|20 MINUTES LATER|
"Chim, can I speak to you?"
"Huh? Yeah, tell me."
"Not here. Somewhere, more private?"
Jimin frowned, "Sure, what's up?" He said, getting up and following Taehyung to a secluded area.
"Chim, all okay?"
"Yeah, why?"
"No, don't lie to me. Everything is not okay. I know."
"What makes you say that, Tae?"
"Your face."
Jimin stared at him with a poker face, "Really? What the fuck?"
"It's just, you're so quiet today. What's wrong?"
"Ugh okay. Promise me you won't tell anyone?"
"Of course. Pinky promise, the usual."
Jimin smiled when Taehyung lifted his pinky finger up. Jimin repeated the action and interlocked them, laughing when he saw how small his finger was in comparison to Taehyung's. Taehyung burst out into laughter too. Really, no matter how many times these two did this, they would always laugh like idiots.
"Okay, listen then. I woke up at around like 2-ish? And I went into the living room to get water for myself. I didn't see Hobi Hyung there, like I usually would, you know? Like on the couch. I really didn't think much, I just thought he went to the washroom or something. But then, I heard uh, I heard moans, man. Two men moaning, and I swear it sounded like those two. I just ran into my room after that."
"Holy shit!" Taehyung exclaimed with wide eyes and a hand over his mouth. "Do you even know for how long I've been shipping them?!!" He exclaimed again, hugging Jimin and swaying him.
Jimin chuckled, "Do you know for how long I have been shipping them?! I'm fucking mad at them for not telling me already, like what the fuck."
Taehyung chuckled, breaking the hug, "Give them time sweetie. They're probably figuring out stuff themselves."
"Yeah. Well, I'm gonna be seventh wheeling y'all from now on, so that's great!" He sarcastically exclaimed with a smile.
"Shut up, I'll find someone for you, I promise."
"You've been saying that since eight years." Jimin rolled his eyes.
"I for real will now. Watch me find you the man of your dreams."
Jimin laughed, "Okay, my wingman."
|12:15 a.m.|
"Wait, you didn't tell me what happened with Jimin Hyung." Jungkook whispered, playing with Taehyung's hair who comfortably rested his head against the younger's chest.
"Oh yeah, shit. Sorry. Yoongi Hyung and Hobi Hyung were there, so I didn't speak about it."
Jungkook frowned, "It's got something to do with them?"
"Oh yeah, it has. Basically, most probably Yoongi Hyung and Hobi Hyung fucked, and Chim heard them."
"Oh my God, seriously?!"
"That's what he told me."
"Damn, that's nice. I've always rooted for them. Why was Jimin Hyung off though?"
Taehyung snorted, "He was pissed that they didn't tell him about them yet."
Jungkook snorted too, "Classic Park Jimin."
"I know right."
Jungkook continued to play with Taehyung's hair, the soft and gentle touches almost making the older sleep. He felt so warm on Jungkook's chest, and they didn't even have a blanket covering them. The warmth erupted from within, it was the warmth of comfort and love.
After a few moments of silence, Jungkook spoke, "Baby, you want me to let you in on a secret?"
"You keep secrets from me, Kook?"
Jungkook chuckled, "Just listen. Even though today was all about My Time, for some reason Euphoria's been playing in my head non-stop."
"That's your secret? I expected something more interesting Jeon."
Jungkook chuckled again. The little movements of his chest beneath Taehyung's head making the older smile. "No, that's not the secret. I just wanted to tell you that I-" He suddenly paused, a small smile lifting his lips.
"I what?" Taehyung asked, looking up to see his face.
Jungkook looked at Taehyung too, "I wrote that song with you in mind."
"Y-you what?!" Taehyung exclaimed, his cheeks and ears instantly turning into a shade of scarlet. He knew the lyrics of the song, almost by heart now, and his heart started pounding in his chest when he realised those beautiful, meaningful and loving lyrics were written for him.
"I did, really. C'mon, I mean 'You are the cause of my Euphoria', 'When I'm with you, I'm in Utopia'. Who else will I write that for?"
"I-I don't know. I thought you just wrote it for anybody. I mean- I didn't know you wrote it from your perspective."
"I didn't intend to. But once I started writing I knew I needed to keep someone in mind to write the perfect lyrics."
Taehyung smiled, his eyes teary once again. He lifted his body up so his face was right in front of Jungkook's. He slowly kissed him and then whispered against his lips, "Why don't you sing it for me then, sweetheart?"
Jungkook chuckled, his ears turning an adorable shade of pink too. He nodded his head before pecking Taehyung's lips. The older scooted down again, to his previous position. He smiled and closed his eyes in satisfaction when he heard Jungkook singing the first line, "You are the sunlight that rose again in my life."
He had heard Jungkook sing this song multiple times. But now, it felt so different and so much more beautiful, because he knew the lyrics were directed towards him. And how beautiful the lyrics were. But Jungkook's voice was even more beautiful. Taehyung could listen to him forever, the sincerity in his voice crystal clear.
Like this, the older really couldn't help but let a sole tear escape the confines of his eye and roll down his cheek. And he thought again, for the millionth time, 'How did I get lucky enough to end up with someone like Jeon Jungkook?'
