2nd Person POV
"Oh, come on. I read all the Shield files that Natasha leaked. You can't come after me for bringing that up." You rolled your eyes as you spoke with Steve. The two of you walked off the quinjet, keeping your voices low since Tony was still aboard. Everyone else had left, most of them to check on Clint while he got medical attention from Cho.
"Are you crazy? You can't just talk about that in front of Tony." Steve scolded you in a hushed tone. You saw absolutely no issues with what you had said. You yourself had embraced what happened to your parents. And look where it got you. A kill count in the hundreds, possibly thousands.
"Just so we're up to date. You know who wasn't included on that information, right? You know, mighty fine hair, looks kinda like Jesus, pulled you from a river. The guy Zola implied di-" You stopped as Steve clasped a hand over your mouth, walking you to the elevator with an anxious expression.
"Can we talk about this later? And we don't know that it was him for sure." He grumbled. The elevator opened in the distance and Maria stepped out, walking towards you both. You were going to disprove that theory later. It certainly wasn't an accident, even if the only records on it were of the car crash.
Maybe you could ask Tony if his dad's eyesight was poor and that caused him to crash. Eh, but maybe not the best idea.
"Word on Strucker?" Steve released you, stopping to talk to Maria while you narrowed your eyes at him for his actions.
"NATO's got him." She responded.
"The speedy guy and the creepy bitch?" You scratched at your eye, suddenly pondering if you had hay fever. God, you weren't going to be happy with that if so. Because the writer isn't having fun with it...
"Wanda and Pietro Maximoff. Twins." She held out a tablet with a paused video. Steve took on side and you held the other so you could both watch. It was the same two people, rioting over something, you didn't really know what.
"Orphaned at 10 when a shell collapsed their apartment building." Maria explained and you let go of the device, allowing Steve to hold it.
"I'd say the girl was cute, but I'd have my good friend Cosmo Wolf after my ass." You snorted as the other two looked at you with furrowed brows. You glanced between them and shrugged your shoulders.
"Forgot your average little minds can't understand the concept of a 4th wall or how to break it." You lightly patted them both on their arms. "Just referencing something. Continue, my lovely Maria."
"Don't ever call me that, again." Maria said sternly.
"You remember that time you drenched me in Holy water? I didn't start bitching about that." You argued. How was she gonna complain about a small little joke of a nickname.
"Actually you did. For about..." She tapped her arms as she thought, "...10 minutes? 20?"
"Okay, you know what. Sure. Where's Hunter?" You asked curiously, no longer wanting to hear about yourself in the past.
"Upstairs... somewhere." She trailed off. If she lost your dog, you were going to push her from the window of this tower.
"What are their abilities, anyway?" You slipped past her and put a hand on the elevator door so it wouldn't close.
"He's got increased metabolism and improved thermal homeostasis. Her thing is neuroelectric interfacing, telekinesis, mental manipulation." She explained. Steve stopped his stride to follow you to instead turn and look at Maria in confusion. You tapped his arm to catch his attention.
"He's fast and she's... relatively similar to me, now that I think about it." You hummed as you came to a realisation. Everything Maria just listed about her, you could do. To some degree at least.
"Well, we'll be seeing them again." Steve nodded, passing the tablet back to Maria and stepping into the elevator. You got in and stood on his left, peering out at Maria. Was she just not getting in?
"I agree. File says they volunteered for Strucker's experiments. It's nuts." She said, clutching the tablet against her side. You reached out and tapped the button for the main floor, stretching slightly as you did. You had a few aches from sitting on the jet.
"Right. What kind of monster would let a German scientist experiment on them to protect their country." Steve remarked as the doors began to shut.
"You. You did that, right?" You tilted your head up at him as the doors shut. Was that what he was getting at? "Boys, we got a comedian in here. And for once it's not me."
"Are you sure he's gonna be okay." Natasha watched as Clint's wound was slowly patched up by the machine he was under. "Pretending to need this guy really brings the team together."
"There's no possibility of deterioration. The nano-molecular functionality is instantaneous. His cells don't know they're bonding with simulacra." Cho reached out to tap on the device's touchpad. Bruce watched in amazement.
"She's creating tissue." He said to Natasha with a goofy smile. It made the woman smirk a slight bit.
"If you brought him to my lab, the Regeneration Cradle could do this in 20 minutes." Cho shrugged, knowing this was nothing compared to the cradle.
"You know, I don't think he's gonna make it. Time to start taking job applications." You joked as you strolled into the lab, looking over Clint with a slight bit of guilt.
"No, no, no, I'm gonna live forever." Clint waved a hand at you, trying to disprove your theory.
"Not if you keep taking hits for me, Roy Harper." You grabbed a nearby chair and pulled it beneath yourself, sitting next to the man while Natasha stood on the opposite side.
"Isn't he a songwriter?" Bruce questioned.
"No, not that Roy Harper. Red Arrow. You know? Played by Colton Haynes?" You opened your arms as you looked between everyone. Nobody knew what you were talking about.
"Not ringing a bell." Natasha shrugged.
"The guy who played Jackson in Teen Wolf." You still got shrugs and declines from everyone, so you leant back in the chair and rolled your eyes.
"Didn't you say you didn't like Teen Wolf?" Clint turned his head to you. Oh, so he remembered your explanation from 3 years ago, but he didn't know who Colton, was. This son of a bitch. You were gonna have to teach someone around here how to burst down that damn wall of the 4th.
"I said that once." You crossed your arms. You stood by that word. Even if the writer himself disagrees with that opinion.
"Just a little bit longer. Soon your own girlfriend won't be able to tell the difference between the original tissue, Mr. Barton." Cho returned to the conversation at hand.
"I don't have a girlfriend." Clint replied with a small groan.
"Yeah? Join the club." You rolled your eyes. A voice began shouting in the distance, slowly approaching the lab as it was accompanied by barking.
"(Y/N), this is exactly why I was against you letting your dog stay in my tower." Tony speed walked into the lab, Hunter following just behind him with a curious look in his eyes. You slid off the seat and knelt down, Hunter turning to you and immediately walking over.
"Last I checked, this wasn't your tower anymore. It's ours." You said, smirking as Hunter climbed up onto your legs and started sniffing and licking at your face.
"He missed you while you were gone." Cho remarked. She lightly patted his head as she walked past and to the table, grabbing something off of it and fiddling with it. You lightly pushed him back so he wasn't right in your face.
"Sit." You ordered, scratching his neck as he followed your command. "He always does. Because I'm just so lovable."
"I'll take your word for it." Natasha joked, walking around to you and kneeling down. As soon as she was down to one knee, Hunter turned and moved from his spot, moving to nuzzle her. You just stared with narrowed eyes.
"Hey, you asshole. Just because she's here doesn't mean my commands no longer matter." You huffed as Natasha pulled him up and into her lap, cuddling him with a smug look being pointed your way.
"I don't think that's the best nickname for a dog." Bruce said in his usual slow tone.
"If it wasn't true, I wouldn't say it. This is the dumbass dog who tries to fight his reflection." You stroked his back before standing up with a groan.
"Is he coming to the party on Saturday?" Tony pointed a finger down at Hunter as you were about to walk past him. You glanced back, pondering your options.
"He'll probably chill in one of the other rooms and sleep, to be honest." You shrugged.
"Speaking of which. Helen, I expect to see you at the party, too." Tony looked over your shoulder at the woman. She glanced to him, pausing and debating it for a second before turning back to her work.
"Unlike you, I don't have a lot of time for parties." She said. Tony raised his hands, silently accepting her response as you glided past him and started to leave.
"Will Thor be there?" You heard her ask. Jane would not wanna hear that one.
