I wait patiently on my couch for Dalton to come pick me up for work. I scroll through social media to see what's been going on lately.

I nodded as I read the caption. What's the point of even putting something like that on social media if it's just dinner?
I'm taken out of my thoughts when I hear Dalton honk. I quickly stand up from my couch and head out my door. Making sure everything is locked up before actually going to Daltons car. Once I'm sure everything is secure, I walk to Dalton and open the door
"Sorry I'm like two minutes late, I couldn't find my belt" he said
"You're good. It's only two minutes" I shrugged
He gave me a gentle smile
"Did Arron email you anything about the house?" He asked me
I shook my head no before I responded
"Not since the last showing. I'm sure someone's gonna buy it soon" I said
"Yea. I'm just a little worried" he said
"Why?" I asked
"It's taking too long to sell" he shrugged
"It's also a sixteen million dollar house. I don't know about you, but I would want to make sure the house actually what I want before I spend that kind of money" I said
He nodded
"Yea, you're right" he said
"I know" I said cockily
"Shut up" he laughed as he pulled into the parking spot
"It'll be fine" I said getting out of the car
He nodded as we walked into the building
"Hi y/n" kelly waved at me
"Hey" I smiled
"Dalton" she nodded her head at him and smiled
He gave a gentle smile back before we walked to the elevator
"Am I missing something?" Dalton asked as soon as the elevator doors closed
I looked at him confused
"No? Why?" I questioned
"She sounded a little flirty" he rose an eyebrow
I just had to laugh at his delusional ass
"She just said hey" I scoffed
"Yea, in a flirty tone. "Heyy y/n" and she did that one sexy wave" he said
"What sexy wave?" I asked
"When girls only move their fingers to seem more flirty" I said
"What are you on?" I laughed
"Nothing... but you would tell me if you were seeing someone right?" He asked
"Duh" I said in an obvious tone
He nodded
"Would you tell me?" I asked
"Yea" he said
"Good" I replied

As I was finalizing a house that I had to sell, there was a knock at my door
"Come in" I said
"Hey, I just wanted to tell you that someone is really interested in that house by the hills" Aaron came in and said
"Really? Who?" I asked
"I can't say just yet, at least not until they confirm" he said
I nodded telling him I understood
"But just know it's looking good for you and Dalton" he said
"Well, thank you" I smiled
"Yea" he smiled back
As he opened my office door to leave, Dalton was on the other side. His hand in a fist, getting ready to knock
"Oh, I was just telling y/n that the house is looking good" Aaron said
"That's great" Dalton smiled
Aaron nodded before he spoke
"I'll leave you two to it" Aaron said before he left
Once he was gone, Dalton turned to me
"I just wanted to tell you that I can't make it to lunch today" he said
"Okay" I gave a gentle smile
"That's it? Just okay?" He asked
"Yea. What do you want me to say?" I laughed
"Maybe ask why" he said
"Okay. Why can't you make it to lunch today?" I asked
"Thats what I'm talking about. I'm meeting a friend" he said
I nodded
"Have fun" I smiled
"You're the best" he hugged me by wrapping his arms around my shoulders because I was sitting
"I know" I said with a cheeky grin
He flipped me off before walking out of the office and closing the door behind him. I checked the time and notched that it was in fact time for lunch. I set my notebook inside of my desk and stood up. As I opened my office door to walk out, I'm met with Kelly
"Oh hey" i said now face to face with her
I saw a light blush creep up on her cheeks
"Sorry, I didn't want to interrupt. I was just about to knock" she said
"You're all good. What's up?" I asked
"I Uh- would you like to get lunch? With me, obviously" she said
I laughed at how nervous she was sounding
"What? Why are you laughing?" She asked
"Why are you so nervous?" I laughed some more
She shrugged
"Well, I would love to get lunch with you" I smiled
"Cool. Dalton can come too" she smiled
I think she only invited him because we're always with each other
"He has plans already" I replied
She nodded
"Shall we?" I asked
"We shall" she giggled. A cute giggle at that

"We actually went to the same high school" she said as she at some of her salad
Shock immediately took over me
"Did we really?" I asked
She nodded
"How come I didn't know?" I asked
"We were in completely different groups" she said
"How so?" I asked
"I was a cheerleader. So I was popular" she said
I scoffed playfully
"I think I was pretty popular" I said
"Yea, you were, but you were in the other popular group" she said
"There was more than one?" I asked
"There's always more than one" she laughed
"Damn, well I wish I would've known we went to the same school" I said
"Me too, we could've been best friends by now" she said honestly
"Yea for real" I said
I thought for a moment
"Wait, I think I've seen you at the pep rally's" I said
"Yea, I kinda had to be there" she said
"I remember now. In fact, we did talk" I said
"We did?" She asked
I nodded as I took a sip of my sprite
"Yea, we had chemistry class together and you asked to borrow my pen" I said
She thought for a moment
"I remember" she smiled
"You never gave it back" I said
She tilted her head
"My pen. I never saw it again" I replied
"Oh, my bad" she laughed
I shrugged
"It probably had bite marks all over it" I joked
"Ew" she laughed
Kelly and I continued to talk throughout lunch, it wasn't until we checked the time that we realized how fast it was going
"Should we get going?" I asked showing her the time
"Oh shit, yea" she said
I watched as she took money out of her purse and started counting it
"It's okay, I got it" I smiled
She pouted
"I invited you to lunch, let me at least pay for myself" she said
I shook my head no
"What kind of a person would I be if I let you do that?" I asked
"A good one" she laughed
"I'm paying" I said
She eventually gave in. I quickly paid the bill and walked out, back to her car. The drive back to the building wasn't long. We just went to a café that was up the street. As we walked into the building, we ran into Dalton
"Oh, hey" he said taking notice of us walking in and laughing
"Hey" I smiled
"Did you two have lunch together?" He asked
"We did" Kelly smiled
Just then, Kelly and I noticed something on Daltons cheek. A lip stick stamp.
Whoever kissed his cheek has nice lips, I won't lie
"That's cool.. why are you two looking at me like that?" He asked
"Who were you with?" I asked
"Just a friend" he shrugged
"Mmhm" I said
"Why?" He asked
"Because your "friend" left a lipstick stamp on your cheek" Kelly pointed out
Just then, Daltons face flushed bright red
"How nasty of you" I smirked
"It was just a goodbye kiss" he tried to wipe it away, but it wasn't working
"I thought you said you would tell me if you were seeing someone?" I asked feeling genuinely hurt
"I'm not seeing anyone. We're just friends and it was a friendly goodbye kiss" he said
I just nodded before turning to Kelly
"I'll see you later, thanks for letting me come with you to lunch" I smiled at her
Dalton was standing there awkwardly
"Thank you for paying" she kissed me on my cheek
"See, notice how I didn't leave a print of my lips on her cheek" Kelly teased
That's caused me to laugh and Dalton to turn red again. With that, I walked back to my office with Dalton closely behind
"I swear I'm not seeing anyone" he said getting in the elevator with me
"Mhm" I hummed stepping out of the elevator once we made it to our floor
"Don't be mad at me" he said as we walked to my office
"Okay" I said
"You're mad" he said
"I'm not" I said
"You are, and I'll make it up to you" he said
I just nodded
"I have to get to work" I said
"Don't be mad" he said
"I'm not" I said closing my door in his face
