Alex's POV
We're done eating dinner kanina pa and nandito na kami sa car heading home. Calli is sleeping sa backseat as always.
"Nagselos ka kanina?" I asked Amara. I'm just teasing her. Kasi halatang halata masyado ang asawa ko kanina sa harap nu'ng saleslady.
"Huh? Saan? Kailan?" She asked na animo'y walang ideya sa tinatanong ko.
"Baby cribs section? Does that ring a bell?" Natatawa kong tanong and her eyebrows met.
"Sa saleslady? Hindi 'no." Sagot niya then she crossed her arms.
"Talaga? Eh kitang kita ko 'yung mata mo kanina eh." I said kaya tumingin siya sa akin.
"Excuse me. Why would I get jealous over that girl?" Tanong niya while looking straight at the road.
"Amara, kilala kita mula ulo hanggang paa. You hate it kapag may nagpapapansin sa akin. Am I right?" Tumingin ako sa kaniya ng saglit at bumaling na ulit ako sa kalsada. I remember kasi noong nagkita kami sa restaurant ng dati kong client and friend na si Liane, selos na selos si Amara kahit hindi pa kami ulit nu'n. She even introduced herself as my wife that time at hinila ako palabas ng restaurant. Hahaha.
"Okay fine! Masisisi mo ba ako? Eh may patingin tingin sayo tapos may kagat labi pa. Nakita na niyang namimili ng gamit ng baby kasama 'yung asawa tas nagpapapansin. Sa tingin mo hindi ako maiinis?"
I chuckled because of what she said. See? That's why I wrapped my arm around her kanina sa harap nung babae para hindi na magselos itong selosa kong asawa.
"Eh kahit ano namang gawin niya, anong laban niya sa asawa ko? Alam mo naman na ayaw ko sa mga gano'ng girls." I said. Napansin ko sa peripheral ko na ngumiti siya ng pasimple but she wore a frown again para hindi ko mahalata na ngumiti siya.
"Ito lang naman ang ideal wife ko eh. Maganda, matalino, moody, minsan masungit at mataray." Napakunot ang noo niya at tumingin sa akin ng masama.
"My ideal wife is actually pregnant now. She loves to give me backhugs and a morning kiss. Mabait and masarap kasama. Oh! Did I also mention that she also has a 16 year old daughter named Calli? In short, my ideal wife is Amara Claire Montevista. Kilala mo ba?" Banat ko kaya lumingon siya sa window sa tabi niya and I can hear her soft chuckles. Then she cleared her throat at humarap sa akin with a serious face na nagpipigil ng ngiti.
"Parang kilala ko. Ay teka, I'm Amara Claire Montevista din eh." Nakisakay na siya sa biruan namin.
"Nice to meet you Ms. Amara." Natawa siya. This is a fun conversation. Nawala na 'yung pagkabadtrip niya sa akin. Hahaha. Diba? Easy as that.
"Well ako, my ideal husband is a little bit taller than me. Handsome, also smart, caring, mapang-asar, bw*sit minsan." Binawian niya ako doon ah.
"Meron pa. My ideal husband also loves to surprise me with anything that he can think of. Masarap magluto and may anak din siyang Calli ang name. What a coincidence! His name is Alexander Montevista."
"My name is Alexander Montevista. I think I'm your ideal husband." I said and bigla kaming nagtawanan. Me and my wife can get a bit crazy sometimes.
After a few minutes, nandito na kami sa condo and dinala ko na 'yung mga pinamili namin.
"Goodnight mommy! Goodnight dad!" Calli kissed me and Amara sa cheeks. Pagod na pagod sa pagshoshopping today kaya matutulog agad. Hahaha.
"Goodnight sweetheart." Sabi ni Amara.
"Goodnight. Sweet dreams." I said.
Pumunta na kami sa room para makapagbihis na at makapagpahinga from this tiring day.
"I enjoyed today. Thank you." Amara said. She hugged me from behind and I can feel her baby bump. Hahaha.
"Pero dad, gusto kong makausap si Sam." Dugtong niya kaya humarap ako sa kaniya.
"Bakit? You shouldn't be bothering yourself to talk to someone who would cause you more stress." Tugon ko sa kaniya.
"I'm fine. You don't have to worry about me. I just want to talk to her. You know na mas lalo akong mabbother kung hindi ko siya makakausap." Hinila niya ako paupo sa bed and doon kami nag-usap.
I held her hand at tinignan ko siya sa mata.
"If that's what you want then we'll do it. Pero please be careful. Ayokong magkasakitan kayo or anything like that." I said and she smiled.
"Of course. Basta makipagusap lang siya ng maayos." Sabi niya.
"Let's go to sleep. It's been a long day." I said.
Inayos na namin yung bed and laid on it.
"Goodnight." We both said as we turned off the lampshade.

Amara's POV
Naiinis na ako. Kanina pa ako pagising gising. And ang likot ko na, I don't know how I should sleep.
I can't find a comfortable position to sleep in. Umupo na muna ako and I turned on the lampshade. Kanina ko pa gustong matulog.
It's 1 in the morning palang. Ayoko naman na mapuyat. Hmmm, I decided to go to the kitchen. Nagdahan dahan lang ako para hindi magising si Alex. Kaya kahit kinukusot kusot ko pa ang mata ko ay bumaba na ako sa kusina.
I opened the refrigerator and looked inside. Ang daming food pero hindi ko alam kung anong gusto kong kainin.
On second thought, I'll eat chocolate chip cookies nalang. With milk syempre. Hahaha. Just like the old times noong buntis ako kay Calli, I can't survive a day without eating cookies and dipping it in milk.
Kinuha ko 'yung isang pack ng cookies and the bottle of milk tsaka ako umupo sa dining table.
I scrolled through my phone habang kumakain ng cookies. Sinalin ko na rin sa glass 'yung milk so that I can dip the cookies!! Super sarap.
I was busy eating then I heard someone going down the stairs. After a few seconds, pumasok si Calli sa dining and nagulat pa when she saw me.
"Mmy!" Nakahawak siya sa dibdib niya at natawa kaming dalawa.
"Sorry! Hahaha. Why are you still up?" Tanong ko. She pulled a chair in front of me at umupo doon.
"Nagising lang po. Ang lamig kasi sa room." Tumayo muna siya and pumunta sa fridge then came back with a tupperware of brownies.
"Ikaw po? Diba bawal magpuyat?" Hahaha. Mas kabisado pa niya 'yung rules for me.
"It's hard to sleep eh. Nagigising ako." Sagot ko. This scene is just like before. I remembered kasi noong hindi ko pa alam na anak ko si Calli, we would always talk in the middle of the night sa kitchen. Though nasa condo kami ngayon but the ambience feels the same.
"Sweetheart, what if maging busy si mommy kay Aleara when she's here na? Is that okay with you?" Tanong ko pero syempre that won't happen. I won't be too busy for Calli. Babalansehin ko ang time ko sa kanila and of course, I have Alex with me para tulungan ako.
"Okay lang po. Tutulong din naman po ako sa pag-aalaga kay Aleara eh." She answered. Awww.
"And maiintindihan ko naman po if ever that happens kasi kailangan ng guidance and care ni baby Aleara. Kaya don't worry about me po! I got myself!" Nagthumbs up pa siya and nagwink. Hahaha. Ang cute.
"Halika nga dito." I signaled for her to sit beside me kaya lumipat siya. Then I hugged her from the side.
"I will never be too busy for you okay? Tinanong lang kita. Hahaha." I said kaya natawa siya.
"Hmmm, okay lang sayo kasi hindi ka mag-isa because nandyan si Drake 'no??" Napatingin naman siya sa akin in disbelief.
"Mmy! Hindi 'no. Si Drake? Never." She said habang umiiling.
"Okay na. Ang defensive mo ah." Sabi ko and I laughed.
"Sino bang crush mo? Tell me. I won't tell it to your dad." Pambibiro ko. Nakatingin lang siya sa akin habang nagpipigil ng tawa. She didn't answer my question.
"Ito naman. Crush lang. Hindi ko naman sinabing love eh. Bakit? May love ka na?"
"Wala mommyyyyy."
"Crush nalang. Promise, sa atin lang. I just want to know." Pang-uuto ko. Malay niyo. Hahaha.
"Hmpp. Okay po, crush lang mmy ah. Paghanga lang." She said. OMG!!! Malalaman ko na kung sinong crush ng anak ko. Hahaha.
"Si kuya Adi." Bulong niya.
"Eh anak, kay ate Elie mo na 'yun eh. Hahaha."
"Kaya nga crush mommy eh." She said then took a bite from the brownie.
"Pero in fairness ah, gwapo naman si kuya Adi mo. Great choice. Haha." I said kaya natawa siya.
I squeezed her in my arms and yumakap naman siya pabalik.
"Huwag ka munang magboboyfriend ah. Kami muna ng dad mo ang date mo. Okay?" Tanong ko.
"Yes po. I won't." Tinaas pa niya ang kanang kamay niya to show that she's sincere.
"Good. Baby ka pa namin eh. You're still our baby girl."
"Yieeee. Sweet naman po. I love you mommy!" She said. Ang sarap talagang marinig 'yun from her. What I'm feeling right now is beyond compare.
"I love you too. Promise ah! No boyfriends muna." Tumawa siya at tumango. I kissed the top of her head and hugged her real tight bago ko pakawalan dahil iinom daw ng tubig. Hahaha.
You can't blame me. Ngayon lang namin siya nakasama and of course we want to make the most of our time together because malaki na si Calli. But sana, huwag muna siyang maggrow up too fast. I hope kahit malaki na siya, she still has that loving and quirky attitude. And sana malambing pa rin.
But I know Calli, she'll still be the little girl that we see now no matter how old she gets.
Medyo inantok ako doon sa milk kaya nililigpit ko na 'yung pinagkainan ko. Si Calli naman ay nakatulala lang sa kitchen counter. Parang hinihintay ako na matulog. Hahaha.
Binalik ko na sa fridge 'yung kinuha ko kanina.
"Let's go upstairs. I'm sleepy na." Yaya ko sa kaniya. Sumunod naman siya at sabay na kaming umakyat sa rooms.
"Matulog na ah." I kissed her forehead and hinintay ko muna siyang makapasok sa room niya before going back sa kwarto namin.
Tulog na tulog pa rin si Alex. Hahaha. Hindi napansin na umalis ako.
I laid beside him and tried to sleep. Bumaling ako sa left side and closed my eyes.
5 minutes have passed and I'm still awake. Ang sakit ng likod ko eh. Arghhhh. I laid on my back and stared at the ceiling. Baby, I want to sleep. Let mommy sleep naman.
After a few minutes, humarap naman ako kay Alex and I know my eyebrows are furrowed right now dahil naaasar na talaga ako. Lumingon ako sa orasan and it's been 20 minutes.
"Gising ka pa?" Naalimpungatan siya and caught me staring at him.
"Yes. Hindi ako makatulog eh. I'm not comfortable." I told him.
"Not comfortable? Sa higaan?"
"I don't know basta hindi ako komportable. Inaantok na ako eh but I can't sleep." I told him.
"Kanina ka pa ba gising?" He asked.
"Yes! 1 am gising na ako. And look at the time! It's almost 2:30 am." I said habang tinuturo 'yung digital clock sa bed side table. Yes, I'm awake for more than an hour.
"Okay. Uhmmm. How do you want to lay down?" Tanong niya. Nagpout ako and I crossed my arms.
"I want to lay on your stomach." Mahinang sagot ko.
"Okay. Sige." He said kaya tumayo ako and I literally laid on his stomach.
"Hindi ka ba mangangawit?" He asked. I'm laying sideways kasi at nakaharap ako sa kaniya so I'm facing my left side. Gets niyo ba? Then I placed a pillow in between my legs and also to support my stomach.
"Hay salamat! Comfort at last." Sabi ko kaya natawa siya. I really want to sleep.
"You should've woke me up kanina para natulungan kita kaagad." Sabi niya which made me smile. My super sweet husband.
He is rubbing my left hand with his thumb while his other hand is caressing my hair and I felt myself getting drowsy.
"Do you want me to play a song?" Tanong niya. Tumango lang ako so he reached for his phone and played a song.
