Hadeon's story:
(One week ago, Bulgaria)
Olivia was setting dishes in the dishwasher, music playing from the radio. She did a small twirl on her way to the sink, carrying a dirty plate.
The sound of the front door opening made her glance up.
"Sweetheart, I'm home"
Olivia smiled at the sound of her husband's voice through the house. She placed the plate on the counter and made her way to where the voice was coming from. She smiled at the man in front of her, the dog racing excitedly around his feet, "Took you long enough" she muttered as he slid off his jacket. He walked over to her and embraced her in a hug.
"They're almost done with it," he whispered in her ear.
Olivia looked up to meet his eyes.
"Really?" She asked.
"The cure to vampirism," he said with a smile on his face. Olivia took hold of his tattooed hand and looked at him, a hopeful look on her face.
"Hadeon we've been married for almost two years, you can't joke around with this stuff," She said warningly.
Hade just grinned at her.
"They've been working on it for months now. They're so close Liv I can feel it."
"Hadeon I don't-"
"Liv, listen to me, as a vampire, I won't be able to grow, I'll be twenty years old for the rest of eternity. We can't have kids, vampires can't procreate." He grabbed both her hands and kissed them lightly, "If I was human, we would be together, until the day that we die"
Olivia was looking into his dark brown eyes, he seemed so sure about this, and of course, Olivia wanted to be with him, to have a family with him, especially after she had lost her previous one.
"But all the things they make you do. Do you think it's a good idea?" She asked after a few moments of silence.
Hadeon grinned, he spun her around and dipped her. Her arms were around his neck for support while his hands were around her waist, keeping her from falling. He gently leaned down and kissed her sweetly.
"I know It's a good idea" he lifted her back up and looked her dead in the eye so that she would know he was telling the truth, "I just want to be with you Liv, if this is what I have to do, then I'd do it a thousand times over"
Olivia smiled, Hadeon always had a way to make her feel loved. That was part of the reason why she had fallen in love with him.
She stood on her tiptoes in order to place another kiss on his lips and then sighed.
"I just wish it didn't have to be like this," She admitted. Hade sighed.
"It's the only way Liv"
Olivia nodded in understanding.
"Just make sure you don't do anything stupid," She said.
"Always my love," he said with a smile as he walked back to the door. "I should go check on the package, I'll see you soon Olivia"
He exited the house and closed the door behind him.
Hadeon parked his car outside of what looked to be some kind of facility.
He had been a vampire for the past five hundred years, now he had met the love of his life, and he couldn't even grow old with her.
He had been working with this Hydra facility for the past hundred years, ever since one of their leading scientists told him about a cure to vampirism. Hydra had been trying to create it but they had been failing. Finally, they found something that may work, Hadeon couldn't wait.
Walking into the building, the smell of smoke immediately reached him. He recoiled, he should be used to this by now but somehow-
"Ah, Hadeon I was just looking for you." A tall man with graying hair and a cane was walking toward him, arms open in welcome.
"Yeah, just want to check on Olivia," Said Hade, a little weary of the man, he wasn't a fan of this particular person.
"You wanted the vampire cure, correct?" He asked, as he finally reached where Hade was standing.
"Yeah, Alex said you guys were almost done with it"
"We are" Hadeon was relieved to hear that, he was less relieved when the man's face broke out into a small grin.
"However, there is something we need you to do first," He said.
Hadeon should have guessed.
"Shouldn't be too hard this time..." Said the man. Hadeon knew that meant it was going to be very complicated.
"What do you need me to do?" he asked hesitantly. The man's grin widened and motioned for Hadeon to walk with him.
"We are almost done with the fire mutant"
They passed a room, Hadeon could see a literal child in there, on fire. Nobody else in the room seemed to want to help her.
"Just watch," the man said. Hadeon hesitantly watched as the fire slowly started dying down on its own.
How the hell-?
The girl who had been on fire fell to her knees, shaking uncontrollably, the fire was now almost fully gone.
"Did she just-"
"Yeah, she did," the man said proudly.
He led Hadeon away from that room and further down the hallway.
"We've been getting close, I'd say a few more months and we'll have our water one as well"
Hade knew what he was talking about. Apparently, the man had some kind of brother who was a mutant with these cool powers or something. The man was jealous of his brother which was why he opened this specific facility. Here they tested on the human body, children's bodies to be exact. They would put the children in life-threatening situations over and over again just to see if they would be able to get some kind of mutation that would help them stay alive. So far at least three hundred kids had died from these tests but there were a few that survived. Hadeon had never really been a fan of what this facility did, but he just needed that cure so he could be with Olivia. Olivia had no idea what they did here, the only thing she knew was that Hadeon did certain things for them, and in return, he would get the cure.
"However we can't move forward with the Avengers trying to stop us." the man said with a sigh.
The Avengers had been killing off Hydra bases, this facility had been worried that they would eventually get to them so they sent a whole army of soldiers to New York to hunt the Avengers down. But the Avengers had then disappeared off the face of the earth.
"So you still haven't found them?" Hadeon guessed.
"Generally... no. But that's why we need you"
Hade wasn't exactly sure where he was supposed to come into all of this. From the news, the Avengers seemed like very good people. Hadeon wasn't sure if he wanted to be the one to help bring them down.
Whatever he had to do to be with Olivia...
Or that's what he always told himself anyway.
"There's a man, Richard Thompson. He has a friend who's close with Director Fury, the director of SHIELD, if you can get to him and find out what he knows, then you'll hopefully be able to find the Avengers."
Hadeon thought about his words, he didn't like it, but it wasn't like he had much choice, he had been doing Hydra's bidding for the last hundred years. It's not like he could just quit.
"How am I supposed to find this Richard guy?" He asked the man.
"Rumor is he lives somewhere in the nearby town, finding him shouldn't be too hard."
The man started walking away but there was still something Hadeon wanted to know.
"Mr. Kennedy" the man turned around to face Hade again
"Please, just call me Mason," He said and Hadeon nodded.
"Once the Avengers are dead, you won't have to hurt the children anymore right?"
The man grinned, "Of course not." He then walked away, leaving Hadeon with a very bad gut feeling.
