It had been two days since the house show, and two days since I had time to think about what Alayah had said. Honestly, she was right I hadn't been out or doing anything since my last relationship with Myles. That took so much out of me that once I had ended it and had Kai I buried myself in work and being a Mom. That I didn't make time to do anything fun or go on dates even.
I sat outside with my feet in the pool listening to music. "Hey." Layah said sitting beside me. "Hey." I said turning down the speaker. "What are you wearing on the friendly date tonight?" She asked splashing the water. "I don't know, I was supposed to find something yesterday, but I gave up." I said. She sighs shaking her head. "You always wait last minute, you have about four hours until the date, so let's go find you something. " said Layah standing, pulling me up with her. I put on my slides and we went back inside.
"What do you have in mind?" She asked as we walked up the stairs. "I don't know ." I said going into my room and plopping down on the bed. "Lord this going to be harder than I thought." She said going over to the clothes rack by the bathroom door. "You look through your suitcase for something." I got up and got the suitcases and threw them on the bed opening them.
We started taking out different outfits, but we didn't like any of them. "I'm about to call and cancel." I said getting my phone from the nightstand. "Oh no, I'll be damn if you cancel on that man." Alayah said taking my phone out my hands. "I don't know if it's obvious but I have nothing to wear and my hair ain't done." I said reaching for my phone. "Umm, your hair ain't the problem. Now where your duffel bag at?" She asked putting my phone in her bra like I wouldn't go in there to get it.
"Over in the closet." I replied she nods and got it, putting it on the bed. "Okay, what about this?" She held up a black long sleeve dress. "Naw, it's hot out." I said shaking my head. Alayah continued to look through the clothes to find something that I would like. Eventually, we both agreed on a sleeveless cream dress and black heels.
"We still have some time to spare you wanna go get some food or something?" I asked. "Yeah, I really want some beignets." She said walking down the stairs. We put on our shoes and went out to the car. "Where Mama and Kai?" Layah asked as we got in. "They went somewhere with Toya, " I said starting the car. "Toya still stay down here?" "No, she just down here for a family reunion," I said pulling out of the driveway.

Finally, after deciding where to eat we made our way back home. "Where are y'all going?" Layah asked from the other side of the door as I got out of the shower drying off. "We're going to Bourbon Heat." I said putting on the robe over my underwear door.
"Sit so I can do your hair." Alayah said standing up from the chair so I can sit down. "How long are you gonna be gone?" She asked while taking my hair down. "I don't know yet probably not that long. " I said as she began to curl my hair. "You telling me that you're going out with a fine ass man and you not gonna stay out that long with him? A lotta girls would kill to be in your shoes, including me." She said. "You can take my place if you wanna go so bad shawty. It's just friendly drinks." I said rolling my eyes as she copied me.
"At least loosen up and have fun while you there." said Alayah annoyed. She's acted like I'm going to be uninteresting. Once she finished curling my hair she did my edges and wrapped it until I finished my makeup and putting on my clothes. Once I was done with my make up I stood up from the Vanity and walked over to where the are clothes laying on my bed and started to get ready.

It had been a couple of days since I last had talked to Y/N and tonight I finally get the chance to sit down and talk to her. After I was done brushing my hair I walked into my room to put my shoes on. Once I was done I walked back into the bathroom to put on some cologne.
After putting some on I made sure I looked good before walking out, getting my phone, and heading downstairs to the kitchen. Walking in the kitchen my phone started to ring. It was probably Y/N calling to cancel or something.
I picked up without looking at the contact. "Hello?" "A little birdie told me you have a date tonight." Sebastian, I should have known. "That little birdie was Chris and yeah I do." I said with a smirk on my face. "Well?" He question. "Well what?" I asked getting a water from the refrigerator.
"How does she look? Does she have a boyfriend? Is she cute? If so does she have any friends or a sister?" Sebastian bombarded me with all these questions. "Why is that the first thing you and Chris asked," I said laughing. "But, yeah she cute, I don't know if she has a boyfriend, yes she has a sister, and I'll make sure to ask her for her sister's number." I said before drinking some of the water.
"So are y'all like a serious thing?" He asked laughing. "No, we're just high school friends catching up that's it." I said. "Ahh, a friendly date. You know those will eventually turn into dating right?" question Sebastian. I rolled my eyes and sigh, "Man she's only down here for a couple of days, that's it after tonight we probably won't see each other again." I replied.
"You haven't dated in a long time I think it's time you should, plus you won't have to keep bothering me all the time." He said while laughing. "You called me, not the other way around," I said joining him. "I gotta go I have to be at the bar in ten minutes." "Have fun, oh, and send me a picture of her." "Bye Sebastian," I said hanging up before he could say anything else.
I walked into the foyer getting my keys and walking out to the car and started towards Bourbon Heat.

I had some time to spare as I pulled into one of the empty parking spots at Bourbons. I was three minutes early 'cause Momma and Layah insisted on me showing up before he did. I turned the car off and took off my seat belt. I looked in the rearview mirror and fixed my lip gloss and some flying hairs before getting out.
I pulled my dress down some and started walking towards the doors as my phone started to ring. It was Anthony what if he didn't show and he is canceling. I quickly picked up, "Hey, I just saw you get out of your truck." He said. "So what you're stalking me now. That's not healthy Dewane." I said laughing. "No, I'm walking behind you stop so I can catch up to you." He said laughing. "Okay." I said before hanging up. I stopped and turned around.
There he is looking fine as hell. He's wearing a grey sweater even though it's hot as hell out here, tan Levi jeans, and all-stars. "If he smells as good as he looks we might be skipping these drinks." I thought as he finally made his way over to me.
"Hey, you look beautiful." He said. I caught the smell of his cologne as he pulled me for a hug. "Thank you," I thanked. "You look handsome." I complimented. "When do I not." He said smirking letting go of me. "Ugh, let's go before I change my mind." I said. We both laughed as we walked inside the bar.
There was a band playing on stage as we walked over to one of the outdoor tables in the back. "I'll get us drinks. What do you want? He asked while pulling out my chair. "Thank you," I thanked sitting down. "Umm, a Bloody Mary please." I said taking money out of my purse. "I got it." He said laughing before walking off.
I smiled picking up my phone replying to Alayah's message. I put it on silent and locked it as Mackie came back over with our drinks. "Here you go." He said giving me the drink. "Thank you. I thanked him as he sit down. "We have a couple of shots coming as well." He said smirking. I shook my head before taking a sip of the drink.

We finished eating as Y/N told me about how she embarrassed herself at one of Alayah's movie premieres. Honestly, I wasn't listening to nothing she was saying. I couldn't stop staring at her. Everything was sitting just right, she is looking good, and I'm not gonna lie I was looking at her ass when we were we walked in here. "I haven't been to one since." She said laughing showing her dimples.
"It couldn't have been that bad." I said laughing with her. "No, it was terrible." She said shaking her head. We continued to talk until a waitress came over, "Can I refill y'all's drinks?" She asked. "Yes please." said Y/N with a smile. Her phone started to ring as the waitress walked off. That's the third time tonight. I looked at the name that popped up...Djay.
She had a picture of them standing together on a football field. Damn that must be her boyfriend. "Your boyfriend's calling." I said pointing at her phone. She gave me a weird look before picking up the phone. "Hey little bro." She said smirking at me.
I smiled and shook my head laying my face in my hands.

I smirked at Anthony as Djay told me the dates for his game and the drafts. "Okay send it to me." I said taking a sip of the drink that the waitress just brought. "Aye, Mama and Layah fat forehead ass told me you on a date with Anthony Mackie invite him to the party afterward." He said.
"No, he probably wouldn't even want to come." I said. "Give him the phone." said Djay. "No, you not about to bother him." I said shaking my head. "It's cool." Anthony said holding out his hand for the phone.
"Hold on," I said rolling my eyes taking the phone away from my ear and giving it to Mackie.
"What's up man?" Mackie greeted with a smile showing his happy gap. This man everything past fine. "Yeah man I loved to come. You know who you going to?" He asked. He's gonna be very disappointed when he finds out it ain't the Saints. Djay has his heart set on go to the Cowboys or the Seahawks.
"Aww naw man, New Orleans is where it's at," He said laughing. "But, I'll come and I'll make sure. Aight." said Anthony giving me back my phone. "Hello?" "I'll see you at the game, big head." Djay said before hanging up. I shook my head and locked my phone.
"I didn't know Djay was your brother." He said drinking some of his alcohol. "Yeah, sometimes I wish he wasn't." I said as we both laugh.

We left Bourbon Heat at nine-thirty and went to Fat Tuesday's. It's now past one in the morning and we're still taking shots. "Another round?" asked Anthony before throwing another shot back. "No, I should be heading home I leave tomorrow." I said. "Oh okay, let me walk you out to your car then." I nod and we both started to walk out the bar door.
We didn't drink much we just mostly laughed and talk while we were here, but I just know I'm going to have a hangover in the morning. I unlocked my car as we got closer to it. "Thank you for tonight I had fun." I thanked him as I open the car door. "Me too, maybe we can get together again whenever you back in town." He said. "Yea, most definitely." I smiled as I got in rolling the window down.
"Let me know when you make it home. See you later," Mackie said before closing the door. "See you later Cap." I said as he walked in front of the car so I can pull out. We waved at each other then I started home.
It didn't take long for me to get there. Once I got there I got out and locked the doors of my car. I unlocked the house door and walked up to my room making sure to be quiet. I unlocked my phone and sent Mackie a message.
Once I made it to my room I put my hair up and got me some clothes. I walked into the bathroom to take off my makeup and shower. After I was done I dried off and put my clothes on. It was past 3 am when I got in bed. I had fun tonight, the most I've had in a long time. I'm glad Alayah didn't let me cancel. I'll have to make it up to her later.
