The gang make their way to the flower beds led by Eric
Eric: the area surrounding Pokémon hills have plants from all over the world! So theirs always something in bloom year round
Steven: they look beautiful
Latias: and by the way eves eating, they taste even greater
Diego: gotta admit, these do like pretty
Eric: and look up ahead! Our very own hedge maze
Steven: hedge maze? Cool!
Steven zooms in ahead with latias and shableye catching up. They all zoom around the hedge maze with Steven and latias racing all around the place with the others behind
Manny: ugh, that kid
Diego: but isn't he 18 in a kids body?
Eric looks to the forest and thinks he sees something
Manny: what's the matter with you?
Eric: for a second I thought I saw something. Guess not. Well I still have some works to do. See ya later!
Manny: see ya later sir!
They all go on ahead as Eric goes back to the refuge

In the hedge maze, Steven and latias were racing all over the place when they made it to a creek and Steven landed like a plane crash
Latias: Steven!
Steven rose up from the water all wet with lily pads on his head spitting out water like a fountain
Steven: I gotta work on the breaks on this body
Latias: (giggles) no kidding! You look like your wearing a novelty hat in the swamp section!
She starts laughing with him as he finds it funny when he takes the lily pad off his head. That's when he noticed the Pokémon next to the water
Steven: uh... hello!
The genecect sees him and... transforms or something
Steven: huh?
Steven hovers over to the genecect with latias too
Latias: what kind of Pokémon is he?
Steven: I don't know. I think a steel bug type? Or maybe a-
That when he lifted off the ground and started flying off
Steven: hey! Wait up!
Steven flies alongside him with latias catching up. The next thing they knew, they were flying all across the pond
Steven: it's okay! I'm not gonna hurt you blue!
Latias: blue?
Steven: yeah! See? Right there!
Steven was referring to the blue spot on his posterior
Latias: oh! Blue! I get it
The group make it to the pond when they saw them
Sid: woah! What's that?
Steven: I don't know! But he looks like fun!
They all soar around the pond making waves as they flew over the water
Diego: that does look kind of fun
The genecect who was apparently named blue, shifted to land form and landed by the water with Steven and latias stopping but Steven just landed to the dirt face first spitting out dirt
Steven: like i said, gotta work on the landings
The group walk up to them as blue looks to the water
Sid: so why are you in this strange place all alone?
Blue: I want to go home
Steven: so are you lost or something?
Blue: lost?
Steven: ya know, when you don't know where you are
Latias: well, it's like you can't find anybody and ya can't find your way home
Blue tilts his head
Manny: does he still not get it?
Blue looks back to the flowers
Blue: I want to go home....
Steven: don't worry! Well help ya get home
Blue: you will?
Latias: I guess
Sid: we better get back to the others soon
Manny: yeah i guess
At that moment blue looked up as they all see two more of the clan
their was the red matriarch, and a purple genecect with a yellow spot
Steven: well, these must be your parents right?
The red matriarch sees Steven put his hand on blues shoulder and blasts him away
Steven: hey! What's the big idea?
Red blasts him again multiple times as Steven tries to activate any powers he's got
Steven: come on powers! Work! Thunderbolt!
As he said that, lightning sprouted out of his body and blocked another blast from the red matriarch as the others ran off. The red matriarch and yellow blast Steven again and send him backwards
Latias: Steven! Are you okay?
Steven: I think so
Blue gets in the way of them
Blue: don't hurt them! They are my friends!
Red: nonsense! They are our ENEMY! Destroy them!
Blue: no!
Red: KILL THEM!!! NOW!!!
Steven watch his eyes glow red controlling blue into attacking by firing the laser on his back
Steven: blue stop!
Red: KILL HIM!!!
At that moment he fired his laser unwillingly and at that moment, mewtwo in her x form swooped in as swiftly as sonic and blocked the attack. It caused a massive explosion making everyone fall to the ground below
Red: let's go!
The genecect leave the area with red forcing blue and yellow to follow

The gang open their eyes to see where they ended up and see their underground being floated down by mewtwo who changes back to her normal form
Steven: mewtwo!
He flies up and hugs his old friend
Mewtwo: the elders informed me you've changed, but I didn't expect this
Steven: I know right?! Still working out the kinks though
Mewtwo: are you and your friends okay?
Steven: I think so
Mewtwo: that was pretty dangerous
Sid: who were those armored bugs?
Mewtwo looks away from a moment since she didn't want to trouble her friends more. She breaths in and turns back to the group
Mewtwo: they are called genecect. Pokémon who have been extinct for 300 million years
Manny: that long?
Sid: before even the dinosaurs!
Leonard: but why are they here now?
Mewtwo: the genecect were restored from the fossils of their ancestors and were attached with deadly weapons by humans like victor. For them, everything that exists now is totally new. A completely alien world
Elizabeth: I get it. When they opened their eyes, everything around them completely changed since 300 million years ago
Mewtwo: so in truth, genecect don't belong here
As she says so she has a flashback of her birth being a lab experiment herself made by scientist hands
Mewtwo: as I once thought
Steven: just like us
Mewtwo: so I know exactly how they feel
She remembers being tested by victor when he bought her to fight Steven to the death right after he was genetically mutated
Mewtwo: they see everything around them as a threat
Sid: but blue didn't act like that
Diego: until yellow and red showed up
Steven: he never meant to. He was being forced to by red. Contrived against his will
Latias: that makes more sense
Mewtwo: it was nice seeing you all again, but I have to go now
Mewtwo levitates and soars out of the hole
Steven: wait!
He flies up to see mewtwo fly to the city out of sight
Steven: mewtwo...
Jessie: you saw that right?
James: with my own eyes
Jessie: if we still had our job this could be a jackpot
Manny growls at them
Jessie: but, I kinda sorta feel bad for her at the same time
Manny: that's what I thought
That's when they all returned to Pokémon hills with Steven hoping to see mewtwo again
