It was almost dinner time when Neil came back from police station.
After the dinner they retired to their respective rooms.
Avni was yet again looking for clothes to wear. And Neil as usual was busy ghoor-ing his wifey...
Avni felt conscious.
Avni: (to herself) Neil mujhe aise kyu dekh raha hai phir se... Pata nahi kya ho gya hai isko... Baat karungi... Par nahi... Aise kyu dekhta rehta hai yeh...
Her cheeks were turning red due to his continuous gaze.
There was a knock at the door.
She was about to go when Neil ran to the door opening it.
Avni frowns at his weird behavior.
Neil opened the door.
Neil: bebe aap... (Smiles)
It was bebe.
Avni: bebe aap is time...
She was holding a small bag.
Bebe: haan puttar woh main tujhe kuch dene aayi thi...
Avni nods.
Bebe: yeh le puttar.
She took out a velvet box from the bag and handed it to avni.
Avni looked confused.
Bebe: khol isko (signalling with eyes)
Avni opened. It was a beautiful jewellery set with a necklace, earrings, payal, kamarbandh and kangan.
Avni was stunned seeing it.
It was absolutely of her taste simple yet beautiful.
Neil looked at her expressions. He smiled widely.
Bebe: kaisa laga puttar?
Avni: Bebe... Bohut accha hai matlab bohut hi zyada khoobsurat hai...
Neil: (out of nowhere whispers) tumse zyada nahi...
Avni: huh?
Bebe smacked his arm.
Bebe: kuch nahi yeh to pagal hai tillu.... Kuch bhi bolta rehta hai.. Tu bata kya keh rahi thi...
Avni: par Bebe iski kya zarurat thi? Matlab... Mere paas itni sari jewellery hai...
Bebe: ab.... Pata hai mujhe puttar par... Ab.... (Looking at Neil) maine itne pyaar se banaaye hai rakhle... Aur waise bhi maine kab tujhe koi gift diya...
Avni smiles a bit.
Bebe: to main chahti hoon ki tum yeh kal puja mein pehno... Theek hai?
Avni: (nods) okay Bebe...
Bebe: chalo ab main chalti hoon..
She left.
Avni sat on the couch admiring the jewellery set.
Avni: yeh kitna sundar hai... (Caressing the necklace) Bebe ko mere taste ka kitne acche se pata hai
Neil: tumhe pasand aaya?
Avni: obviously bohut zyada... (Smiling)
Neil smiled.
Avni went to the Cupboard to keep it another knock is heard.
Neil again ran to the door.
It was shweta this time.
Avni: mummy ji aap?
Avni saw there was a bag in her hand too.
Shweta: (toothy smile) yess... Main tujhe kuch dene aayi hoon..
She took a box out of the bag and handed it to avni.
Avni looked at it.
Shweta: Arrey opens na..
Avni nods and opened she found a beautiful pink saree in it.
Shweta: hows? (Excited)
Avni: bohut acchi hai.. Mujhe acchi lagi..
Shweta: accha chal phir tu tomorrow wears it okay.? (Smiles)
Avni: okay... (Smiles)
Shweta: ho gya... Bas itna sa to kaam tha tillu...
Neil widened his eyes. Shweta bit her tongue.
Avni: itna sa kaam tha matlab mummy ji?
Shweta: woh... I sleeps good nights...
She ran away.
Neil stood there looking here and there..
Avni: Neil mummy ji ne yeh kyu kaha itna sa kaam tha?
Neil: mujhe kya pata?
Avni: Neil dekho tum na aaj subah se ho bohut ajeeb bartaav kar rahe ho... Bolo na aisa kyu kaha mummy ji ne? (Warning)
Neil: woh... (Murmuring) yeh mom bhi na... Sara kiya karaya kharab kar diya...
He was searching for words when avni interrupted him.
Avni: I'm waiting Neil... (Crossing her arms over chest)
Neil: (scratching the back of his neck) wait hi to nahi karna tha... Matlab tumne dawai li hai... Haina? (Avni nods) to mom ne kaha tha mujhe ki unhe tumse kuch kaam hai to maine mana kiya tha ki tum dawai le ke so gyi... Woh na aaye... Par tum nahi soyi... To woh aa gyi... Isiliye unka kaam ho gya aur mera bhi aur waise bhi woh
Avni: (amused) Neil!! ... Itna confusion kis baat ka hai? Khud confuse ho mujhe bhi kar rahe ho...
Neil: kuch nahi mujhe neend aa rahi hai... Bye.. Good night.
Avni was about to say but Neil quickly laid in the bed covering his face with duvet.
Avni: yeh Neil bhi... Ab aaya tha to mujhse baat nahi kar sakta tha... (Annoyed) mujhe bhi nahi karni baat.
Avni layed on the bed and dozed off.
Next morning, puja preparations were in full swing.
Guests were only the Mehtas and their family friends like abhi-avi, DD and shivam.
Shweta was running behind the decorators to decorate fast. Bebe chatted with dayawanti on random things.
Neil was speaking to anurag and other boys. But his focus was somewhere else... 😉
Neil was time and again looking at the stairs waiting for his love.
Anurag saw this and thought to tease him.
Anurag: neil... Waha kya dekh rahe ho? Hum yaha hai to hum sab se baat karo na..
Neil: haan ... woh....
He gave a small smile.
Neil: (in mind) yeh avni ko itna time kyu lag raha hai... Pata nahi... Par kab aayegi woh... (Sighs)
Avantika was standing with shweta and prerna when her phone rang. She went to a side looking here and there and answered the call.
Avantika: haan.. Bolo...
.....
Kya?...
.....
Accha main aati hoon...
She hung up and went somewhere.
She reached in front of a room and went inside. She was shocked to see the sight in front of her.
She looked here and there and then shuts the door.
Avantika: kya hai yeh sab?
Person: yeh main hoon... Yeh meri sari hai... Aur yeh mujhe se iski liptai nahi ho rahi hai.... (Crying face)
Avantika burst into fits of laughter.
Avantika: (laughing) avni.... Shit... Dude... Yeh kya kar rakha hai tune?
So that person was avni who was struggling with her saree.
(I didn't get any photo to show my imagination but please imagine...
Jaise she was in her blouse and skirt and that saree was wrapped around her in a strange and funny way... Matlab usko khud nahi pata aur adhi upar adhi neeche. She was almost stuck in her saree)
Avni: (pouts) maine tujhe yaad meri help karne ko bulaya hai na ki hasne ko... Please na...
She tried taking steps towards avi but stumbled in her own saree.
Avantika held her.
Avantika: accha abhi bas kar khadi reh... Main dekhti hoon.
Avni nods.
Avantika helped avni with the saree. Then she started making her wear jewellery.
Avantika: waise avni... (Still working) saree to bohut acchi di Neil jiju ne. (Stressing the word jiju)
Avni blushed.
Avni: mummy ji ne di hai...
She took the necklace and started tying it around her neck.
Avantika: kya kar rahi hai?
Avni looked confused.
Avantika: Arrey meri maa... Kamarbandh hai woh... (Giggles)
Avni: oo... Tabhi main sochu yeh do do necklace kyu hai aur ek itna bada kyu hai (making innocent face)
Avantika: tera kuch nahi ho sakta...
Avni bit her tongue and smiled.
Finally she was ready and as you all know looking fantabulous 😍
Avantika: waise aaj to kisi ki nazar hatne nahi wali kisi se...
Avni being a tubelight.
Avni: kis ki aur kis se?
Avantika: (smiles) kuch nahi chal abhi neeche... Sab wait kar rahe hai..
Avni nods. As they were about to leave her phone rang.
Avni: avii Tu chal main aati hoon..
Avantika left.
After some time.
Neil: (in mind) avni kaha hai itna time kyu lag raha hai usko... Adhe ghante se zyada ho chuka hai
Bechain dil ko karar chahiye Ek baar sajan ka didaar chahiye...

Anurag: Waise avni hai kaha abhi tak tyaar hi nahi huyi kya? Yaha koi bechain huye jaa raha hai... Nahi jija ji...
All others giggled.
A soft sound of payal is heard.
They looked towards the direction of the sound.
Neil's breath stuck in his throat.
He felt his heart beat raising.
It was avni descending the stairs.
(Her saree ignore the jewellery)

All others smiled at her.
Avni came to bebe and shweta taking their blessings then she greeted all others.
Abhi and DD were standing at either sides of Neil.
Both giggled seeing his reaction.
Mouth opened eyes wide opened. 😲
Both at the same time pushes his lower jaw.
DD and abhi: mooh to band karo uncle...
Neil came out of his trance. Avni blushed listening this.
Bebe: kisi ki nazar na lag jaye tujhe...
She places a kala teeka behind her ear.
Prerna: (whispers) waise aaj zara Neil se bach ke rehna... Control nahi hoga us se...
Avni blushed.
Later the pandit ji calls them for puja.
Everything goes well.
Neil was in the kitchen cutting some fruits. Accidentally his hand touched a hot pan on the stove.
Neil hissed in pain.
Avni who came there to get some water immediately ran to him.
Avni: kya kar rahe ho Neil dhyaan kaha hai?
She held his hand and made him sit on the chair.
Neil didn't said anything but looked on.
Avni took the ice cubes and started massaging it on the burn.
However Neil's continuous gaze was making her loose her focus.
Avni: (looking here and there) tum mujhe ghoorte kyu rehte ho?
Neil: (smiles) pata nahi...
Avni: to tumhare police wale hone ka kya fayda jab tumhe yeh hi nahi pata ki tum mujhe kyu ghoor rahe ho...
Neil smiled a bit.
His gaze never left avni's face... Avni too saw him... Both had an eyelock.
It was interrupted by anurag.
Anurag: ahem ahem...
They seperate and look at the door. Avni sets her hair while Neil looks here and there.
Anurag: mera aapka romance kharab karne ka koi plan nahi tha jija ji par woh kya hai na ki yeh kitchen hai yaha sab aate jaate rehte hai... So...
Avni: nahi bhai woh Neil ke haath pe na woh pan lag gya tha... Isiliye main to bas ice laga rahi thi...
Anurag: chori pakdi gyi to bahane banana band karo.. (Giggles)
Avni and Neil were turning red.
Anurag: waise avni mom ne tumhe bulaya hai bahar... Kuch baat karni hai..
Avni nods and left hurriedly.
Neil: main bhi jata hoon.
Anurag: Arrey jija ji zara humse baatein to kar lo...
Neil just ran away...
Anurag: yeh dono bhi na.. (Shook his head in disbelief)
After some time it was decided that all will stay in khanna mansion for tonight.
All retired to their respective rooms.
In avneil room.
Avni was in the washroom.
Neil was roaming here and there scratching his temple; wiping upper lip.
Neil: tum ne avni ko ek baar bhi nahi kaha ki aaj woh kitni sundar lag rahi thi... Tu bhi na... Biwi ko compliment to karna hi chaiye na... Ab woh aayegi na bata dena... Haa...
The door clicked and avni appeared.
Neil quickly sat on the couch holding a file.
She went to the dressing table applying moisturiser.
Avni: waise Neil...
Neil: huh?
Avni: tumne bataya nahi aa main saree mein kaisi lag rahi thi?
Neil: sexy...
Avni: kya?! (Shocked)
Neil realised what he said.
Neil: sacchi.. Beautiful very beautiful.. (Covering up) tumne kuch aur suna?
Avni: na..nahi... (Smiled) waise (she started moving towards him) agar agli baar se tum apna gift mujhe khud doge to mujhe zyada accha lagega.. Aur haan...
Neil gulps.
Avni bent to his level. Neil's heart beat started a race again. 🙈
Avni: (husky whispers) file ko seedha rakh ke padha jata hai... (Flipping the file in his hand upside down)
She giggles and left.
Avni: good night Neil.
Neil was still in a shock. He realised what actually happened.
He facepalms himself.
Neil: main bhi na... Calm down calm down (placing hand on his chest)
He went to the bed and slept.
Avni was peacefully sleeping in his arms while he was wide awake thinking about her. He smiled and kissed her forehead lovingly.
Next morning;
After the breakfast Mehta family was ready to leave.
Ashish: waise main soch raha tha ki kyu na kuch dino ke liye princess humare saath hi chale...
Neil: (shouts) BILKUL NAHII!
