"Are we in the right place?"
"I believe so."
We used Rias' magic circle to appear in what we thought was the specified location, and I modified the magic circle to be able to transport regular humans, meaning Sarah, Yozakura, and Tojuro were with us as well. Mule was back at my place since I could just summon my equipment now, but I was carrying Genbu and Gae Bulg since they're my best weapons. Asia was in her nun outfit, Xenovia was wearing her black, skin tight outfit like the one she wore when we first met, I was wearing the same military uniform I did at the interview but with the mask on my face this time, and everyone else wore their school uniforms. Sarah had a backpack on her, as well as a vest with several pockets. Tojuro on the other hand was pulling a cart with a sheet over it. I was using my mask to scan and collect data on the area, we appeared to arrive in a spacious hallway with black walls, a black and white marble floor fashioned in a chess pattern, pillars along the walls, and some kind of shrine entrance at the end. The shrine looked to be Greek and had a set of doors, but that wasn't my focus. I couldn't hear the voice of the announced, and usually we'd hear one by now. "This is odd...stay on guard everyone." Rias ordered, and all of us complied. "(Y/N), do you sense anything?"
"I'm picking up nothing." I was using my earth sense, thermal vision, and checking the air for consistencies that are caused when someone is present. "Shall I destroy the building?"
"No, for now, we have no choice but to wait and see what our opponent's next move is." Rias declined my suggestion, and everyone understood, except one person.
"Well that blows." Sarah, who had already pulled several sticks of dynamite out of backpack.
Out of nowhere, I detected a magic source, and the source was none other than Diodora, who teleported in front of the shrine with his usual smile. With a snap of his fingers, several magic circles appeared all around us, and I could tell right away they were devils, but not ones I knew of. "Judging from their magic circles, they're affiliated with the Old Satan Faction." I had all the data from the Gremory Library uploaded onto my mask, allowing me to access it whenever needed. Their exact numbers weren't clear to me, but I can tell right away that it was in the hundreds.
"Eh?!" Issei shouted, not that I blame him, learning that a new faction is involved in a rating game can be quite surprising.
"You're a relative of that fake Satan, aren't you?" One of the invaders spat at Rias, but I held out my arm so it would hit me instead. "I'll end you right here."
"Pardon me Sir, but aren't you aware you're invading a rating game between two noble houses?" I tried being reasonable with the man, but he pulled out a knife, so I struck him in the chest using the blunt side of Gae Bulg.
I heard a light yelp behind me, and I turned around to see Asia was missing. Of course, I was furious about this, and I looked around desperately to find the blonde nun. I looked upwards to see that Asia was being held by a flying Diodora, and I would have done something but I didn't want to risk Asia getting hurt because of my recklessness. "Hey Rias, Mad Dog, Perverted Dragon, I'm taking Asia with me, have fun with these fools."
"(Y/N), Solais." Xenovia held out a hand, and I reached behind me to draw out Solais, like there was an invisible sheathe I was pulling the holy blade from. I gave the holy blade to Xenovia, allowing her to dual wield Durandal with Solais. Xenovia charged at Diodora with holy energy covering her blade, but when she tried cutting Diodora, the man dodged by soaring higher.
"Let go of Asia you piece of shit!" Issei demanded while getting his boosted gear ready, and I responded by getting Genbu ready on my left arm while getting Gae Bulg ready in my right hand. "And what the hell is going on?! Isn't this supposed to be a rating game?!"
"Are you dumb?" Diodora questioned with an evil smile, and none of us answered him. "This isn't a rating game, and all of you will die here. No matter how powerful all of you are, you won't be able to take on this many number of devils, so it's best if you die right away. I will become one with Asia while you are busy with them then. You know what I mean? Mad Dog, I will make Asia mine."
"You are aware Asia is a person too, could you ask her for what she wants?" I wanted to try being reasonable. "She's made it clear that she doesn't like you, so why not move on like a functional person?"
"I must request that you let me stab you!" Tojuro requested the devil, but Diodora merely scoffed at the request before fading into nothingness with Asia, and to say I was pissed would be an understatement if the millennia.
"(Y/N), I know you're pissed, but right now we need to focus on getting out of this." Kiba asked, and I began planning for a way to cleave through these devils.
"I guess I'll just cut my way through all of them." I used Gae Bulg to cut the devil in front of me along his waist, along with three other devils that were standing alongside him. "(Y/N) Orignal: Devil's Pri-"
"No!" I suddenly heard a voice on my shoulder, and I looked at the source of the voice and saw that it was a talking crow. "You need to save your strength for Douche-iodora, leave this to us!"
"Us?"
Out of nowhere, a large group of devils in the far corner of the room were suddenly impaled with roots, and their blood appeared to allow crimson red flowers to bloom on them. In the same corner, I noticed several body parts were getting torn off. It was like the force was intentionally coming towards us until the last person was cut in half, allowing me to see the people who were behind all this, two of whom I recognized and the other two I didn't recognize. One appeared to be a large man dawning a brown cloak with holes in it to allow his goat horns and antlers to pop out, and his face is covered by a wooden mask that only allowed me to see emerald green eyes. I could also see his hands since they were out, and both of them appeared to be massive wooden claws. The other unfamiliar figure is just a coyote, maybe a pet.
"(Y/N), are you okay?!" Rossweisse grabbed my face and began checking it for injuries, and most likely forgot I was wearing a mask until after a couple seconds of checking.
"I should have known that Diodora prick would pull some pussy BS like that." Dagda crushed another devil using his massive club. "Oh hey Cernunnos, how's Christianity treating you?"
"Horribly..." The one named Cernunnos replies, and his voice sounded like two people talking at once.
"Rossweisse, I'm okay, but right now I need to focus on saving Asia, a close person to me." I answered while Rossweisse turned slightly pink and let go of my face. "Why are you guys here anyways? Also, who are these two?"
"Well the creepy guy with the mask is Cernunnos, and we've met before (Y/N)." The coyote appeared to be talking, and I think I would remember a talking coyote. "Eh, you don't remember me?" The coyote appeared to be crying. "We met a couple days ago though..."
"That's because you were disguised, Dipfuck." The crow scolded the coyote. "He was the guy at the studio, the Native American looking dude whose eyes were a coyote and who told you Issei is popular with the kids. I'm Crow, he's Coyote."
"And the hooded guy is Cernunnos, or Satan, depending on who's in control at the time." Dagda introduced him before handing Rias a bag. "These are some weird ear things that Azazel wanted to give you guys, so you guys go get that jackass."
"Wait, s-shouldn't some of us go with them?" Rossweisse asked, and the three gods looked at each other to begin thinking. "Diodora might have more tricks up his sleeve."
"Then it would be better if I went, I'm a trickster, so I know what's up." Coyote dodged a magic orb coming at him. "Hey, Demon fuck! If you try to strike me again, I'll get you, and it'll look like a bloody accident." Coyote then dodged another strike. "I mean it, I will end you!"
"The Seal King will be okay..." Cernunnos suddenly summoned a pair of massive eagle wings from his back. "Crow shall stay with him and alert us should he need our help."
"Wait, you're the Coyote and THE Cernunnos?" Rias asked in shock, and both of them nodded. "(Y/N), do you know who these people are?"
"Yes, they introduced themselves to us." I suddenly notified the elephant in the room, not a literal one, but you get the idea. "I know Diodora put up some kind of barrier. Wait, we need to hurry, Diodora's going to hurt Asia."
"Relax...Seal King...Diodora shall not...lay a finger on Asia...until he makes..Asia...watch your deaths..." Cernunnos promised while he began twitching, and one of his eyes became red. "Satan...is taking...over...go for now..."
"So he will never touch Asia, got it." I took a breath and looked at the door at the shrine, but there was a sea of devils blocking my way. "(Y/N) Original: Headlights."
Lightning covered the tip of my spear and I thrusted forwards, clearing a path for me and the rest of my allies to run through, while Cernunnos, Coyote, Dagda, and Rossweisse took care of the devils. Crow stayed on my shoulder as we ran through the nearly made path of blood. Some of the devils tried attacking us, but I cut off their arms using my spear whenever they tried something. Rias reached into the bag and pulled out some communication devices that go into your ear, and all of us put a device in our ears. Azazel's voice could be heard on the other side of the device. "Guys, are you there? Do you copy?"
"Yes, we're still alive, any clue as to what's going on?" Rias asked in her usual commander voice, and Azazel breathed a sigh of relief.
"Bad news, the rating game is getting attacked by the Old Satan faction, so the place you guys are at and the VIP section are flooded with Old Satan faction members." Azazel explained. "The Old Satan Faction's hatred of newer nobles like you and Sona are immense, so they've started killing other heirs, like Zephyrdor's brother. My guess is that they're being led by descendants of the old Beezlebub and Asmodeus descendants."
"So I take it Dagda, Odin, and yourself are also being targeted?" I questioned, since these devils must be on the extreme right side of the political spectrum, and despise outsiders like angels, fallen angels, and gods. "Is it also safe to assume that the Khaos brigade is also the reason why Diodora managed to defeat Seekvaira?"
"Smart kid, you're correct in all those assumptions." Azazel complimented me. "He's borrowing power like you did with Huitzilopochtli back when you were immortal. Back on the subject of the Old Satan Faction, I'm sorry to tell all of you this, but we knew an attack was going to happen. We didn't cancel the rating games so we could lure them out, so in other words, it's our fault that you guys are in this situation."
"So what would do if we end up dying?" Issei asked without a care in the world, and Azazel went silent.
"I plan on taking responsibility, and if my life is what it takes to make up for that, then so be it." Azazel seemed to know the weight, but I won't let anyone die. "I'm currently fending off against some Old Satan Faction members as we speak, so I can't help you, sorry."
"It's fine, but our priority right now isn't the Old Satan faction." I decided to explain the situation to Azazel. "Diodora took Asia."
"Damnit!" Azazel cursed. "Here is the situation. All of us are in the same field as the rating game, including myself and Odin. We'll be there in a minute, thanks to Dagda breaking the barrier when he heard it was a trap. There is a Longinus user among the Khaos brigade that specializes in barriers, and they're solely focused on keeping everyone here. So Dagda made a hole where we can go in, but can't get out. There's a basement I want all of you to hide in while all of this is going on, this place is about to become a warzone, so leave Asia to us, it will take some time because I'm far from all of you, but I'll get there."
"Sorry Sir, but I refuse to do that." I replied calmly, I didn't need orders in this situation. "You're worried we might die, right?" I asked, and Azazel was silent. "No one will die because I will protect all of them, and I won't die because I am the Ultimate Immortal, and the King of Hope."
"I'm sorry too Azazel, and while the rating game may be canceled, I refuse to let Diodora go unpunished for this sin." Rias was on my side on this one. "I need to show him how foolish it is to take away a servant from me."
"You all are idiots, you know that?" Despite his words, I can tell Azazel was smiling. "Since this is no longer a rating game, so none of you better hold anything back. (Y/N), go wild and show Diodora that dogs are never to be underestimated."
"We'll contact you again when the situation changes." Rias promised and then she turned her attention to Koneko and I. "Koneko, (Y/N), do you think you can track Asia?"
"She's in the shrine." Koneko had her ears, and I placed the top tip of Genbu against the door and fired the anchor, destroying the door in the process. "Is that amount of firepower really necessary?"
"Destruction is necessary, ALWAYS." Sarah smiled, revealing rows of sharp teeth, kind of like a shark. "Like arson."
"Oh look, the room looks EXACTLY THE SAME!" Tojuro commented, and we looked through the door frame, and it looked exactly the same as the room from where we entered.
With that, all of us decided to continue forward since none of us have any better ideas, I also tried breaking the floor at some point, but the marble ground only reflected my anchor back at me. The anchor hit me square in the jaw, almost breaking it in the process. I decided not to try that again and continued running. The cycle repeated as follows, we ran towards a shrine, we(I) broke down the door, we entered a room that looked like a perfect copy of the first one, and repeat. It was like that until we came across ten people, all of whom appeared to be wearing nun outfits of different kinds. So it's safe to assume Diodora has a nun fetish.
"So it appears all of you have survived the Old Satan Faction." Diodora's voice surrounded us, it was most likely some kind of intercom system. "You all came here for a rating game, so I came up with a substitute. Us Kings can only use our pieces to fight until you reach where I am. You can only use each piece once until you reach where I am. You get to choose what pieces you send out, and in case you're curious, the pieces before you are eight pawns and two rooks, the pawns have all been promoted to queen pieces. It should be no problem for a power hungry girl such as yourself, Rias, you always have the strongest pieces."
"I'll handle this, Rias, Issei." I walked forwards with my shield on my back and Gae Bulg outstretched like a sword using one hand, pointed sideways while I walked towards the group of pawns and rooks. "Taking on powerful pieces is my specialty."
"I understand, but the moment things go south, I'll send Xenovia and Gasper in to hell you." Rias informed me, and I accepted these terms because they were reasonable.
"Pieces of Diodora Astaroth, my name is (Y/N) (L/N), and I will be your opponent." I introduced myself out of courtesy, since I have no grudges against his pieces, I decided to remain polite.
"Are you sure it's a good idea for you to take us all on by yourself?" One of the rooks asked, and I responded to this by temporarily hiding my hand between my shield and back to summon a scroll.
"Who said I will be challenging you alone?" I unraveled the scroll so it's contents would face the pieces, and it's contents was a magic circle, with a weird design in the middle of it. The design was a skull on the ground with its head split open, and from the crack, a tree emerged. "Freed."
Everyone was caught off guard by this, and they watched in horror as a lime green magic circle appeared on the ground. From the magic circle, a zombie emerged. Like anyone would expect, this was the body of Freed, the exorcist I killed a while back. He was still wearing the same clothes, but his skin was gray and most of it was decayed. His right leg had only bone below the knee, his right arm was only bone up until the upper forearm, he had several holes in his back, and half of his face skin was missing. To replace his missing muscles, tendons, and skin, plant fibers connected his body and made it whole, but anyone can tell what parts were plants and what parts were skin. He looked almost exactly like he did back when he was alive, only differences was that his skin was gray and green, his face was expressionless instead of his usual sadistic persona, and his eyes were glowing lime. He was holding his light sword and gun, just like he did when he died. "I honestly don't know how to respond to this..." Kiba sweatdropped, and I expected him to cut down the zombie on the spot.
"S-Scary!" Gasped hid behind Rias, who was the only person to not be scared of this zombie.
"Fear not, pieces of Diodora, I have no grudge against any of you, so I will not aim to kill you or revive you as plant based zombies." I promised them. "Though I can't say your master won't have the same fate."
"Oh, so that's why you came home smelling like death yesterday."
(A/N: You know, I know at least half of you are wondering "who tf is this drunken lunatic updating this book every other day?" Well the answer to that is because I love DxD, it combines my top three favorite things; 1: Myths/Religions/Cultures in general, 2: History, and 3: Waifus. Plus this series is also doing the best out of all of my other works, so...yep. Also, I'm going to be focusing on this book more because I hate Diodora and I wanna hurry up and get to the point where they fight so I can get it off my mind.
