"Rose!" Tommy scream as he slams into Sapnap, sending both of them crashing into the shelves. I blink, still reeling from shock and disorientation, until I see George cornering Tubbo, and my body flies into action. I lunge at him, and he barely fends off the flash of my blade, retreating back into the darkness.

I hear the swooshing of air just in time, dropping my body and rolling beneath several pairs of legs. I spring up, and given just seconds to raise my sword as Dream's own weapon swings down at my head with a brutal force. Out of the corner of my eye I notice everyone edging to the passageway. I try and angle my back towards it, but there's the slight problem of a sadistic  man trying to bash my skull in with an axe.

Oh god he's going to slaughter me.

He's managing to force me away from the passage, but I keep up, seeing that Tubbo is almost there. If I can distract him, then maybe Tubbo can escape. But I was too distracted. The second I glanced away from my opponent, he managed to slam the sword out of my hands.

I press myself into the wall in fear, hands trembling and raised, eyes squeezed shut, waiting for the final blow. This is it. There's still fighting going on, and maybe everyone else can escape and the revolution can live on. Maybe there's still hope, even if there isn't for me. But the blow never comes. I open my eyes.

Dream is towering over me, axe centimetres away from my throat. He's grinning. He leans in, eye to eye, and whispers "Hello again."

Dread creeps through me. I stare back at him, refusing to let anymore fear show on my face. He's about to say something when the frantic crashing footsteps of the remaining L'manburg members distract him. He grabs my arm, and they give chase, thundering through the passage way.

The bright lights burns my eyes, as I'm dragged roughly out of the tunnel. Wilbur, Tommy, Tubbo and Fundy stand at the entrance of the walls, enough distance between them and their enemies. They're all wide eyed with shock and betrayal. The silence drifts on for another couple of seconds before Eret's dry laugh cuts through.

"Down with the Revolution boys. It was never meant to be."

Everything clicks, the confusion of the last minutes waning as I piece together the parts.

The explosion laid beneath our feet.

Our enemies lying in wait in our own basement.

Eret, unscathed. Eret, volunteering for late night watch more than anyone else. Eret who just happens to have supplies in a sealed off basement.

I stare at him in horror, but he refuses to meet my eyes. I trusted him, we all did. I feel disgusted at the memories we shared, at the times we had together. Had it all been a lie? Did he ever care about me, did I even matter to him? How could he do this to me? To all of us? Tommy steps forward, trembling with inconsolable rage.

"Eret!" Tubbo cries, grief stricken and shocked. Wilbur stands, his features etched with surprise and hurt, as well as Fundy whose brows are knitted together in anger. Dream steps forward, pulling me with him, iron grip on my bicep. The swings his axe to stop just before my throat. My heart stops beating.

"Surrender now. You're badly injured. You have nothing left. Your own members are betraying you. There is no more hope, there are no more chances. If you do not surrender, right here, right now," he pauses, grip tightening on me and his axe, "then I will take this girl, and you will never see her again." Oh god. Oh god. I'm going to die. He's going to fucking execute me in front of everyone I love.

Everyone gasps, varying degrees of rage and horror painted on their faces. But I won't let their sentiment ruin everything we have fought for.

"No. I'm not worth the entire revolution!" I yell, voice wobbling as tears threaten to spill over my eyelashes. Even if Eret's words were hollow, they struck me all the same. The tyranny we've experienced, the loss, the suffering, it has to end. We're the catalyst, the spark, and I'm not worth extinguishing the only chance we have at freedom. Wilbur's mouth tightens into a line before he nods. Tubbo however is not as accepting.

"Rosie NO! You can't let him take you. Rosie please don't go. You can't go" he pleads, tears sliding down his face. He makes an attempt to lunge forward, but Tommy puts a hand out to stop him. I can see the emotion on Tommy's face, but he understands. Fundy gives me a lingering look, and I can feel the love and heartbreak through every one of these interactions. Then they turn and leave, Tommy dragging a struggling Tubbo.

I'm never going to see them again. Who knows what sick plan Dream and his friends have in store for me. I feel hot breath on the back of my neck, and the ice cold shivers that then run down my spine.

"Guess you're coming with us then princess."

The butt of his axe comes crashing down, and the world descends to darkness.

A/N

Well, Dream now has Rosemary in his evil clutches, and we will see their one on one interactions. We also get to meet the personalities of the other members of the Dream Team, and deal with the fallout of Eret and his betrayal.

I'm going to kinda throw canon out the window now, and while I'll be mainly following the general direction of the storyline, my story will mainly revolve around Rosemary, and her experience with Dream. We will get a lot more into Rosemary's head, and personality as she is held hostage during the war.

Edit 6/1/25: slowed things down a bit, which seems to be a running theme. Also, I'm well aware knocking someone out like this will keep them down for maybe 30 seconds and do nothing but a bit of brain damage, but suspend your disbelief x

Hopefully you enjoyed this chapter, and please vote and comment, it would mean the world to me!
