My consciousness awakened my whole body as my eyes fluttered open. The blurriness of my vision cleared, and the ceiling above was visible. Rotating my head around, I saw that I was in the infirmary room where Shoko works at. I don't recall being in here; I remember going on a mission and... "Wait!" I rose up from the bed and ran out of the room. My hands frantically turned the doorknob and darted towards whoever I could find in the hallways. "This must be a dream! I was on a mission and I'm here now? What kind of bull—"
"Yo Kana!!" I heard a familiar voice from behind, turning around to find Itadori and Megumi walking up to me. Those two looked calm and normal, and their voices didn't show any hint of worriedness. I think the cursed spirit's technique was intoxicating my body.
Stepping back from this dream, I gave them a confused look as my hands were extended to protect me. "I'm...dreaming. Yeah! I-I'm dreaming! I think this is heaven, but why would heaven want to bring me back to school?!" I thought the place of heaven would be a peaceful place, not my school.
"Kana..." Megumi spoke as a baffle expression took over his stoic face. "You're not dead. You were going to be dead if we didn't come in at the right time." He stepped close to me and pitched my cheek as hard as he could.
"Ouch!" I winced, hitting him as he didn't let my cheek go. His pointer finger and thumb were stretching my poor cheek out while it stung. His aggressive attitude made me believe I was still alive.
"Oi, Fushiguro. Stop messing with Kana!" The familiar female voice belonged to Kugisaki. Her figure approached us and she hit Megumi from hurting me. "She's in a daze of what happened... so am I." Kugisaki grumbled, placing her hands on her hips. "Now tell us what happened since we're awake." She stood in between me and Megumi in case he jumped me.
I rubbed my swollen cheek. I might even have a bruise because of his carelessness. Besides him, I'm glad to see that Kugisaki was alive too. I couldn't believe we were taken down without a real fight. How pathetic of us. Should I even be called a sorcerer?
"Me and Itadori were quickly called over..." Megumi explained to us that in the den of the cursed spirit, there were plenty of unconscious girls; however, there were also dead ones too. The cursed spirit's technique only targeted females by producing its own anesthetic after consuming girls. "The spirit almost ate you because from what Gojo-sensei said, you produced a lot of cursed energy."
For a second, my heart stopped beating. "What?" My head tilted to the side. I couldn't believe what my ears were hearing. "I almost died because the cursed spirit wanted to eat me for a power boost..." It was chilling to hear, but I wasn't that surprised since I'm destined to die.
However, Kugisaki was having a hard time wrapping her head around this idea. "Ha? You're telling me that we almost died just for someone to rescue us?! I'm going to kill sensei!" Red-orange flames were bursting out of her as her eyes turned vengeful. Kugisaki had every right to be mad, and I was on the same boat as her.
"Let's go find, Gojo-sensei!" I encouraged her since nothing can stop anyone's emotions from killing a person. "He's going to feel our wrath...!" All the pain and near death counters he put us in was going to be seen in my fist of fury.
We stalked off to find him.
"Ummm, should we stop them?" Itadori whispered to Megumi.
"No. Sensei deserves it."
Kugisaki and I turned into the teacher's lounge to find Gojo chilling in his expensive chair he bought. He sensed our presence and stood up from his seat with a bright expression on his happy lips. "Hey! You both are awake! I'm glad to... hey, are you two okay?" Gojo's voice turned in a circle once he noticed our twitching behavior.
