THIRD (3RD) POV
After Kugisaki was finished, she stepped inside the boy's room and presented herself as she twirled in her short, tube-top cut red dress. She had her hair in a Marilyn Monroe hairstyle while her ruby red lipstick popped on her face. It was a bold statement on her full lips. She also wore gold jewelry to compliment her whole outfit.
"I feel so beautiful! I'm ready to stop the dance floor from our dazzling look!" Kugisaki gleamed, imagining all eyes on her and Kana as they would soon enter the school. Her mind was fantasizing about those fake high school movies she watched when she was younger.
While Kugisaki had her head filled with future events, Gojo clapped to gain their attention. "Alright everybody! Let me take pictures of my students." Gojo gleefully announced, grabbing the first couple in mind—Fushiguro and Kana.
The two didn't have time to register what Gojo was doing as they were forced to stand really close to each other—hip bones touching—and arms wrapped around each other's waist. Kana didn't mind the closeness since they've hugged before so this wasn't anything new to her; whereas Fushiguro calmly composed himself on the outside but on the inside, his heart was beating abnormally. He may have been in close contact with Kana before, but this was different because earlier he directly admitted his feelings about Kana to Itadori and Kugisaki in the morning...
"Shouldn't me and Fushiguro dress up too? If I'm going to be your escort, I want to look good right beside you." Itadori casually said, roaming at a strip mall with Kugisaki and Fushiguro. He has his hands behind his head as Kugisaki was in between the two boys.
Itadori's words sparked a light in Kugisaki. She turned her head at him and smiled widely, "Great thinking! You guys can find some formal clothes while we're out shopping!" The idea of their escorts dressing in formal clothes never occurred in Kugisaki's mind since she was busy uplifting Kana's distress thoughts about the school dance and date.
"What about Kana's input?" Fushiguro asked out of nowhere, as he was being considerate about Kana's absence. Just because Kugisaki was fine with it doesn't mean that Kana will be too.
Both Itadori and Kugisaki looked at Fushiguro with a confused expression. "Huh?" They both said in unison.
"Fushiguro... I'm pretty sure Kana will be fine with it." Kugisaki said in a confident tone.
"Kana's chill. She won't mind." Itadori added in.
Kugisaki and Itadori knew Kana's a chillax person who doesn't get mad over small things, and the boys getting dressed as well wouldn't flip a switch on her.
"I know she'll be excited to see you guys in formal clothes!" Kugisaki smiled, imagining Kana's surprised yet happy face when she sees the boys all dressed up. She will definitely feel more enthusiastic about going to the dance because their escorts were looking good too. This will help boost up Kana's mood.
Clink!
Something dropped on the ground, and everyone stopped moving as they looked on the ground to see if they dropped anything. They all patted down their pockets, scanning their eyes on the glossy concrete ground until someone spoke.
"Oh! Isn't this Kana's?" Itadori bent down to grab a bento keychain and brought it to everyone's attention.
The keychain dangled from the silver chain as it slowly spun around, letting everyone see the detailed design and coloring of it.
That's when Fushiguro snatched the keychain out of Itadori's hand. "No, it's mine." He quietly mumbled, tucking the keychain back into his pocket. Fushiguro believed it slipped out by accident since there's no other explanation why it would be on the ground. He really cherished the keychain since he got it with Kana. She insisted he get one with her because there was a deal so he did.
