What I learnt from Aldabert, a very stern German man on the train.
"Pay Yourself First."- Some reason we got talking about investing and finance and this was his advice. Paying yourself first means paying a portion of your salary into your savings account as soon as you get paid, before you spend money on anything else. It's about giving your future self a portion of your current self's income. That he knows that if you wait until the end of the month to invest what's left, there will never be anything left. Yet, if we invest first, we somehow always find a way to do things like pay bills and eat.
