Mr. Quinn's pov

This was going to be a great semester. I'd go in, replace a teacher that's off for maternity leave, then it will be summer and I'll be off to another school. Most teachers want jobs where they live, not me though, I travel to any school that will have me, staying no longer than a year then moving again.

I walk into the front of the school, immediately looking for my first period classroom, much like the students. Expect they know where they're going. I have no clue but I still have my head held high with confidence, not letting anybody stare me down.

Girls and some boys look at me as I walk down the hall, whispering stuff like: "she or he said he was hot but wow." I don't mind. Although I'd rather have the boys looking at me than the girls.

That's right I'm gay and I'm proud of it.

I find the classroom I was looking for and open it with the keys that I was given yesterday. Kids that were probably labeled as 'the nerds' followed me into the class room, sitting down in the front and socializing with each other, happy to be back from break between semesters.

"Excuse me," I interrupt a girl talking about how great her break was. "Yes, Mr, um" she said, looking at me, struggling with a name that I haven't told her yet, "Quinn, Mr. Quinn." I smiled at her, I have decided she was the one that I was going to pick on the rest of the semester.

"Yes, Mr. Quinn?"

"What time does class start?"

"8:50, so 15 minutes. Shouldn't you know that though."

"Of course, just checking to see if you did. Seeing as you're here fifteen minutes early, I tell you're going to be the trouble maker of the class."

She smiled brightly at what I just said. "You caught me, trying to blend in with the nerds!" She put the back of her hand to her forehead. Dramatic. If only she was a boy, and well, not my student.

I laughed at her comment, her friends -that consisted of a group of 3 girls (not including her) and 4 boys, that she seemed to be the leader of- were silent, probably to afraid to make the next move.

"I take it you're big into the drama programs at the school?"

Her group of friends giggled, "I'm taking that as a yes."

"Of course," I would soon come to realize that this girl was friends with everyone. The whole school knew her and smiled and waved when passing her in the halls.

More and more kids started coming into the class as it got closer and closer to beginning of class. When the bell rung I was half asleep. People think only students get bored during class, they would be wrong. But it was up to me to make the class fun so that my students would like coming to this class.

I grab the attendance from my desk that was already placed there when I came in. "Attention, students" I said in a loud voice, coming to sit at the front of my desk that was facing the students. "Who I don't know any of your names, but if you try messing with me, I will personally have miss. Perky up here," I point to the girl I was talking to before class, "come and rip your throat out." I smiled, to let them know I was kidding. Sort of. I don't like being messed with. That got a laugh and the girl acted all offended but I know now she's got my back.

"So I'm pretty sure most of you know how attendance works, if you don't you probably shouldn't be in a grade 11, university level class." Another laugh, good I was becoming the fun teacher. "My name is Mr. Quinn, please say here when I call your name."

"Hunter Adams," I call out, I expected a boy, a jock with muscles but no, I got the girl that I was talking to before saying 'here' and giving me a peace sign. Well then.

I get half way through the list with everyone here when I get to a James, and no one answers. I look up at Hunter who shrugs. "Alright, what about Jasper McCarter?" Again I look up at Hunter, she shrugs again. "Twin brothers, always together. Usually late." As she was saying that the door opened and two identical boys with blonde hair and green eyes walked in and immediately I knew that I'd be breaking my 'no dating students' rule. They were both so damn cute.

"You're late." I tell them, the one a slightly bigger build steps in front of the other one. But not before I see the little bit of blood on the collar of his t-shirt. He pulls his sweater around himself, self consciencefully, hiding the blood.  "Sorry," he mumbled as he moved the books in his hand awkwardly. "Sit." I say pointing to two empty seats across the room from each other. Nobody's late for my class and gets away with it, Hunter said that they like to be with each other. So,  even though there were seats next to each other they were going to sit across the room.

"But," The one closer to me said.

"Sit. Now." The smaller one started to walk toward one of the seats that I pointed to but his brother stopped him. I stood up from my seat on the desk.

"There's desks right over there that are next to each other."

"I see that, maybe if you're not late for my class tomorrow you can choose where you sit. But we will chat about that after class. Now sit." They did as I said.

"Now, where was I? Oh yes, James McCarter?" The slightly smaller one raised his hand but kept his head down not wanting to be noticed anymore. I smiled, "And Jasper?" The other one raised his hand, "here," he grumbled angrily, looking over at his brother.
