Chapter specific warnings: none

When you stepped outside the next morning, you felt like an anxious mess. You were convinced Denki and Hanta would welcome you with open arms, but that was because you hadn't done anything to them in particular. It was Mina's reaction you were worried about.

When you arrived outside, you noticed Katsuki packing the car. Everyone in your small group was eighteen by now. It still felt weird to think that you were of legal age and that you would soon be graduating. You didn't have your driver's licence yet, Katsuki, however, already had his - something about him wanting to beat everyone else and be the first to have one.

He didn't have his own car, though. But his parents were kind enough to let him borrow one of theirs for the weekend. According to Eiji, Katsuki was a surprisingly good driver, you couldn't quite believe it, but you would soon find out for yourself.

"Stop shaking like that, you're irritating me," Katsuki said, grabbing your hands and holding them still. His hands were wrapped around yours, his palms so warm and large, covering yours like a blanket.

You couldn't help but blush. Katsuki's gesture was by no means romantic, not even very friendly. Frankly, if anyone else had grabbed your hands like that, you would have probably felt uncomfortable. But you didn't. Somehow, having Katsuki touch you like this made you feel warm and fuzzy inside.

You just couldn't explain the way your body reacted when you were around him. Every little touch was electric, and you could stare into his eyes until your own dried out from insufficient blinking.

And that was precisely what you were doing at this moment. The two of you were standing there, hands awkwardly connected, and eyes locked. Blending out everything around you.

Which was why neither of you realised that the rest of your group was approaching. They stopped when they saw you standing by the car. "What the hell is she doing here?" Mina asked, unsure of how to feel.

"She wants to make up with everyone. Please give her a chance," Eijiro replied.

Mina clicked her tongue. "Of course, I will. I just wanted her to make the first step."

"Seems like someone else is making first steps too," Hanta quipped, pointing at your hands that were still covered by Katsuki's.

"Yeah. What's up with that? Did we miss something?" Denki asked, confused.

Eijiro shrugged his shoulders. "Nah, they just started training together and... have a good connection, I guess."

"I know her so well, I can tell she fancies him," Mina said with a smirk.

Hanta raised his eyebrows. "So she finally broke up with that other dude?"

"Nope," Eijiro sighed. "Just give it some time guys, and don't tease them too much. We'll see what happens."

The others agreed, promising that they wouldn't wind you up over your chemistry with Katsuki. They knew that if they pried too much and gave you too hard of a time, both you and Katsuki would retreat back into your shells. You clearly hadn't realised that you liked each other yet.

Only that Katsuki did realise, his friends simply didn't know about it. He had been in love with you for so long and slowly being able to come closer to you again, was sparking feelings even stronger than before. He used to be so sure and confident around you, knowing exactly what to say or do to fluster you.

But now, seeing you flustered, made him flustered too. It had been so long since he had seen you react to him in this way, he couldn't help but behave like a lovesick boy. You were everything to him, and he wanted you to feel the same again. He knew it would take time, but he would get there eventually. And when the time came, he would show you off to the world, never letting you go again.
