Katsuki and I both sat down, next to each other. He had his gaze set on the floor; uncharacteristically quiet. I sighed as I looked at him.

"Katsuki-"

"[Name]."

We both spoke each other's name at the same time.

"You first." I told him. "I want to know what you think. Why you chose to do it? Enlighten me." I told him with an even tone.

He sighed. Lifting his gaze up and settling it on me he said, "I'm sorry. I just wanted my old best friend back. The airhead, who wasn't afraid of my temper or harsh words. The one who could keep up with me. I just... wasn't thinking about anything but that."

"I wanted my old best friend back too, you know?" I told him as I looked into the distance, "It hurt me that day... not much the rejection of your feelings but rather what you said about me."

Thinking back, I thought about the day I wrote a confession letter to Katsuki...

It was during middle school. Katsuki and I were inseparable; always studying together, wanting to become great heroes, etc. Sure I knew my quirk wasn't flashy like his, but what he had in flashiness, I had in combat skills.

Thanks to my dad he taught me that heroes needed more than one trick to be successful. He showed me how to use a capturing weapon like his scarf, several knife techniques, martial arts, and many other things to defend myself and battle against others.

Katsuki liked that about me. He told me I was a strong chick. It made me happy when he did. Many things he would say to me actually. I developed a crush on him. Then me being such an airheaded girl decided that since Katsuki and I were such great friends and compatible when it came to wanting to be heroes, that he would like me back. But I was wrong.

I don't know why he said it. But hearing those words broke me. I began having trust issues with boys and even with my other friends.

I placed the note I wrote in his locker. Katsuki was alone when he found it and read it. His face showed no emotion whatsoever, it confused me and I followed him to the classroom. Class hadn't begun, and so I secretly observed Katsuki as he headed to his desk. He pulled out the letter again and just kept looking at it.

His friends then showed up and Katsuki seemed a little flustered but his words made me think otherwise.

"Wow Katsuki, is that a love confession? Who is it from?" asked one of his friends.

"Don't tell me it's from [Name]! Dude, it's gotta be her! She's always with you! Fuck she's a hot chick. You're so lucky!" said his other friend.

Katsuki's expression turned arrogant and cold. "Hah? You think it's from her? Why'd the hell she write this crap? This ain't like her."

"But dude, she's your best girl friend!"

"And what about it?" Katsuki's anger began to show.

"She's a fucking hottie. Imagine in a few years you becoming a top hero along with her, man you'll have some trophy wife material with her!"

I felt mildly disgusted and embarrassed at what they said but I didn't pay much attention to them. What I wanted to know is what Katsuki thought.

"You really think she wrote this?" he asked them.

"Well there's only one way to find out, go at the meeting spot like the letter says."
