"Kana! It's so great to hear your voice! I was going to call you, but I haven't heard from Megumi for a long time so I decided to call him instead... Yet it backfired since he gave you his phone." Gojo loudly laughed over the phone while I lowered the volume. I didn't want people to think we were some crazy kid because of Gojo's gigantic laugh. It's like he inhaled once and used that to prolong his laugh; he kind of sounded like a dying animal. He might have a cute face to attract ladies around him, but his laughter wasn't cute at all—it was deadly.
"Kana, end the call." Megumi instructed, already feeling annoyed by Gojo's voice.
"But it's your phone, you know that right?" I extended my arm for him to take his phone back and end it himself, but Gojo was quick to cut to the chase.
"HEY! Don't end the call. I was going to tell you that you guys should get to your mission if you wanna come back home... that's all... geez, you kids don't know how to respect your elders," Gojo fake cried over the phone until Megumi ended the call himself since I wasn't going to.
"I'm going to punch him..." Megumi grumbled. I knew deep down he appreciated Gojo, but can't really vibe with him because of Gojo's childish personality as a grown adult.
"Oh, don't be like that!" I chuckled, rubbing his tensed shoulder. "If you're always mad like this, then you're going to get white hair like me and die early like me too!" I depressingly joked and jumped back before he could do something to me.
Being a foot away from him, I assumed I was safe from any headlocking he could potentially do to me. "Kana..." His voice changed into a deep sinister tone.
Oh, he was going to kill me for bringing up my death. I don't mean to annoy him, but it helps me accept my tragic tale. There's no other way to cope if I don't talk about it and embrace it. "L-let's go to our mission...!" I stormed off before he could chase me down in rage.
"Wrong direction! Which means you have to follow me!" Chills ran up my spine as I knew I was going to receive a big earful from my action.
We stood in front of this small shed. "It's...supposed to be in there? A special grade curse?" It looked too easy to obtain a special grade curse if it's in a common place like this. "Do you think Gojo-sensei is pulling our legs?"
"If he is, I'm going to punch him." A big tick mark grew on his forehead as he imagined him beating Gojo down with his fist. But if I'm being realistic, Megumi won't be able to do that since Gojo has the infinity barrier, which means Megumi can't touch him.
Pushing Megumi behind me, I wanted to be the first to open this shed. "Let me do the honor...?" When the shed doors opened nothing was inside. I pulled out my phone, thinking that I couldn't see because it was dark in there, but the result was the same. It was completely empty. "I... I think you can kill him now."
"What are you talking about?" He peered over my shoulder to see what I saw. "He's going to have to explain this to us...!" Megumi grumbled in dismay, taking out his own phone and dialing Gojo's. I had fun in Sendai City, but our mission was disappointing. Who would be stupid enough to find the cursed artifact and take it? That person will die today or later. Only time can tell when we're called over to the scene.
Megumi ended the call and announced that we couldn't come back until the artifact is retrieved. "Wow! A sleepover at Sendai with my only friend sounds great! Let's go find an inn and put it under Gojo-sensei's name!" I skipped off at a distance.
"You've got to be kidding me? I don't know how you can see this as fun..."
The next morning later, I yawned and woke up from my sleep on the comfy bed. On the other side of the room was Megumi sleeping on the couch. He refused to sleep with me on the bed even though I was fine with it. I didn't have a problem with it because he's a respectful person, but I guess the thought of sleeping right next to the opposite sex scared him. I wouldn't have crossed the boundary if we were to sleep together.
