FIRST ENCOUNTER-

"Dude! You should've been here before me. I have a bike and you have a car!" You exclaimed into the phone as you were crouched on the ground, going through your backpack for your flashlight.

"I know, I know. Just ran late at work." They laughed. "I'll be there in a few, alright?"

You snorted as you stood up with your flashlight in hand, turning it on and off to make sure it worked. "Well, I'm going in. I'll call if something happens." You said, taking the phone into your hand. "So, call to let me know when you get here."

"Cool with me. Just be careful."

You both said your goodbyes, and you put your phone in your pocket and then grabbed your backpack. "Looks way scarier now than during the day." You muttered and walked to the front door as it turned your flashlight on.

With a big huff, you opened the door and pointed the flashlight around, groaning at the definitely abandoned house. "Man, this place is horrible." You whispered, closing the door and started to look around curiously. "I should've brought my camera..."

There was nothing too odd about it, it looked like any other abandoned house. That was till you started up the stairs and you started to smell something horrible. You coughed and covered your nose and mouth with your sweater. "Holy shit."

You groaned and slowly kept going. "Must be a dead animal or fucking ten." You grumbled and started to walk through the hallway, passing each door till one of them smelled worse than the others. "Don't do it." You muttered to yourself. Then a second passed and you grabbed the doorknob and opened the door slowly.

It became apparent real fast it wasn't dead animals. No, you saw a couple dead bodies instead. You gulped then laughed nervously. "Oh shit..." You shuffled around, quickly pulling your phone out, trying to dial for the police till there was a creak.

You froze for a moment before slowly turning with your flashlight to see someone standing down the hallway, staring at you. The two of you stared at each other before you dropped your flashlight and ran to the stairs with a yell. "Oh fuck!"

As you ran down the stairs, you could hear the person following shortly behind. "Shit, shit." You cursed, stumbling on the last step and yelped when they grabbed your backpack. Without a second thought, you slipped your arms out and took off to the front door and out of the house.

Just then, your friend pulled up, rolling down the passenger side window. "Hey-"

"Don't park! Don't park!" You yelled, making them confused before looking behind you.

"Who the hell-" They started to yell. "Doesn't matter! Drive!" You interrupted, jumping into the window, both of you screaming as the person grabbed your feet. With a kick to the face, they let go and your friend sped off as you fully got into the car.

Both of you panted before you gasped. "I need to call the cops!"

"How do you just forget that, M/R!"

MEETING AGAIN-

You sighed as you listened to your mom doing nothing but yelling at you. When she went quiet for a moment, you put the phone to your ear. "Are you done?" You asked, leaning back against your kitchen counter.

She huffed. "No more abandoned buildings. No more of your stupid ghost hunts. I don't even know if you believe in that!" She cried, making you shake your head.

"Mom, it's been a little over two weeks, can you drop it?" You asked, pinching your nose. You don't really want to think about it considering you felt like you were going crazy since wherever you turned, it was like the masked person was there.
