Chapter 2: Totsuki Academy's Transfer Exam

Elizabeth's POV*

I woke up and I got up to do my daily round of work out routines

After I was done I took a shower before heading out.

I walked down the street to the original family restaurant.

Mr. Parker said, "Hey, Elizabeth.".

I said, "Hey Mr. Parker. How's the new family business plan going?".

Mr. Parker said, "Good. Thanks for suggesting it, Elizabeth.".

I said, "No problem. Take care.".

Mr. Parker said, "You too.".

I kept walking along until I saw Anna's husband, Remi, and my niece, Bella.

Bella said, "Aunty Elizabeth.".

She ran over and hugged my leg.

I pat her head and I said, "Hey Junior.".

She giggled and Remi said, "Hey, Elizabeth.".

I turned to him and said, "Hey old man.".

Remi rolled his eyes and said, "You know I'm not that much older than you, right?".

I nodded and said, "That's why you're an older man, hence the phrase old man.".

Remi rolled his eyes and I headed further down the street.

I finally arrived at the multi-floored restaurant.

I walked in and Lilith pulled me into a bone-crushing hug.

I tried pushing her off of me but she just hugged me harder.

Lilith said, "Oh, Elizabeth, what'll I do without you!".

I asked, "What are you talking about? I'm not going anywhere.".

Lilith let go of me and went over to sob in the corner as I walked off confusedly.

I walked into the kitchen and I said, "Anna, Lilith's acting stranger then usual.".

Anna was sobbing to and I was asking, "Why's everyone crying?".

Anna sadly said, "Mom wants to talk to you.".

I walked off and upstairs to mom's office.

I entered the office and I said, "Mom. Anna and Lilith are acting weirder then usual.".

Mom said, "Elizabeth. I'm sending you to learn culinary arts at Totsuki Academy.".

I said, "But I know all I need to know to work here, mom.".

Mom said, "But you don't know people your own age. You haven't experienced the real world. Don't think of this as me doubting your skill, think of it as a challenge.".

I asked, "A challenge?".

Mom said, "Only ten percent of the students actually graduate from Totsuki. Only the best of the best succeed. So my challenge to you is this, graduate from the top ten of the class from Totsuki, and I can promise you a reward better then working here. I hope you're up to the challenge.".

I asked, "What happens if I lose?".

Mom said, "I fire you.".

I smiled and said, "Not pulling any punches, huh. Fine then, I accept your challenge.".
