Prolouge

My name is Coral Dane . I was born at sea on a cruise while my parents were on vacation, and the ship was parked near a coral reef,  

hence my name Coral.

And because of that, I always loved the water, it gives me a sense of home. My parents could never get me out of the bathtub when I  

was little, I always got out when my mom yelled for dinner. I also just LOVE sea animals, even some of the ugly ones. They always 

glide so easily in water like they don't give a damn about what's going on around them. When ever I went to the aquarium, I would  

always talk to the animals , and it always seemed like they listened. I mostly thought this because I thought I was a mermaid just like  

Ariel from "The Little Mermaid", so I thought I could actually talk to fish and hear what they were saying. I had always been a natural  

at swimming, but I never joined any swim teams at school.

I spent most of my life in California by the beach, so I had that perfect tan, and thought I would never had to leave this state.

Well I was wrong.

After my dad died in a boating accident, my mom thought it would be best for me to move someplace else, away from the thing I love  

most, my ocean. She told me we were going to move to a small town in Colorado. COLORADO! I really don't want to move away from  

friends I have had since forever, but my mom says the job has to do with the company my dad had built over the years. She says she  

has to go and make sure it's running smoothly without my dad having not been there for months.

My mom said she had to run the company herself, which means we HAD to move to Colorado.

I sat at the window seat, looking off at the world, wondering what was going to happen to my life, the people I would meet. I wish  

I didn't have to move.

I realized no one real does a story with a plot like the little mermaid(either tht, or I'm stupid and I didn't look deep enough in the
