Prologue: The Attack

A/N: Heya! I decided to write a Naruto Adventure, based mostly on canon. Most of my stories are for me so I don't really care if I get any readers or not, but if I do, hello! This will follow canon for most of the story, but I will change a whole bunch of stuff to make me feel better. I don't own anything from Naruto or anything like that. All rights go to Kishimoto, now let's get to it!

This chapter is mostly me rehashing the manga chapter of them sealing the Kyuubi, adding a jutsu for Kushina to do that will help Naruto later. You can skip this one if you want to, it's basically a prologue!

"Hold it down! Keep it still! The Hokage's almost here!" A Shinobi yelled. Suddenly, a giant claw swept through his body, splattering him onto the nearby Hokage Monument. A great roar swept through the village, the full force of the Kyuubi No Kitsune(Nine-Tailed Fox) rearing up to his full height. Several Konoha Shinobi immediately threw hundreds of kunai at it and they watched as it just roared and the force of that roar deflected all of the kunai away from it's body. Several of the Shonobi despaired watching the Kyuubi rear it's head back, preparing a pulsing ball of purple energy in front of it's mouth. Before it could fire it, a thud happened in front of them as a giant toad dropped on top of the demon, crushing it and throwing the energy far off into the distance.

"Hold it down 'Bunta! It takes me a second to teleport something this big!" Minato, the Yondaime Hokage(Fourth Hokage), yelled out.

Gamabunta grunted while shifting himself and ignoring the sound of an explosion in the distance. "Well 'urry yer ass up! It's hard holdin' down somethin' this big!" Gamabunta hopped lightly to reposition himself on the Kyuubi's back, ignoring the thrashing and sound of pains the Kyuubi was making.

Before long, Minato finished his Fūinjutsu planning and teleported the Kyuubi to his safe house. Almost immediately, chains sprouted from the ground to wrap around the Kyuubi, holding it in place so it couldn't move. Minato turned around almost angrily, his eyes trailing towards his wife in shock and terror.

"Kushina! What are you doing outside?" He yelled.

Kushina slid across the ground with blood pooling out of her mouth. "You need help." She said simply. Before he could respond, the sound of crying erupted from her arms. "Whoops... I woke up Naruto... I'm sorry Naruto..." she cooed to her child.

Minato looked up at Kushina as she handed him Naruto. "I'll take the Kyuubi with me to my death." Kushina whispered. Minato's eyes widened as she continued. "It will extend the interval until he reemerges. It's all I can manage right now with my remaining chakra to help you two. Thank you for everything up until now."

'Not much chakra left' Minato thought, trying to think of what he could do to fix this situation. "I'm the Yondaime Hokage... but I'm useless!" He whispered almost to himself.

"Minato... Don't look so sad!" Kushina smiled. "Today is the child's birthday..." she turned to look at baby Naruto in Minato's arms, the smile on her face straining as the pain got to her. "If I were allowed just one regret... I wish I could have seen Naruto grow up..."

Minato openly cried at that before looking down at Naruto. His eyes hardened, his resolve strengthening as he heard his dying wife's plea. He set up an alter in the area, laying Naruto on top of it and refusing to look at Kushina. "Kushina, save your chakra. I'm going to seal the rest of your chakra inside Naruto as part of a Hakke no Fūin Shiki (Eight Trigrams Seal). Along with the Kyuubi!"

Kushina's eyes widened at his announcement. However, the pain of holding the barrier up and the Kyuubi in place for so long got to her, causing her to cough up even more blood. The chains on the Kyuubi slacked, allowing it to turn and throw it's arm at the baby on the alter. Kushina and Minato jumped directly in front of it, the claw of the Kyuubi stabbing through both of them. Quick as a flash, Minato ran through the hand signs for the Shiki Fūjin (Reaper Death Seal) trapping half of the Kyuubi inside of him even though he was in immense pain. Kushina looked back at him in alarm, even though the claw inside of the both of them shrunk in size dramatically, allowing them to hold onto the Kyuubi easier.

"Why... why are you doing this? Why trap... the Kyuubi inside of you as well? Why not grow up and raise Naruto... without me?" Kushina raged.

Minato laughed, gesturing towards the whole inside of his stomach. "At this point, it's a little... too late for that, my love." He chuckled. "Just be prepared! When I do... the Hakke no Fūin Shiki, it will seal the rest of both of our chakra's... into Naruto."

Kushina looked at Minato in anger, before looking down at her son lovingly. "Well, if the Kyuubi is your birthday gift.... to our son" She glared at him, causing him to chuckle nervously, "then I have to give him one as well." Before Minato could stop her she ran through an assortment of hand seals and held her hand out to Naruto, a wave of chakra washing over him from her body.

Minato laughed again painfully, shaking his head at his wife. "I can never one up you... Kushina." He muttered. "Anything else you... want to say to our son? We're running out of time here..."

Kushina looked at him again, kissing him one final time on the cheek. She looked back down at Naruto, coughing up more blood from her body before she continued. "Naruto... take care of yourself... make sure to have dreams and... the confidence to make those dreams come true! I'm sorry I couldn't be with you longer... I love you... so much... There's so much more I wanted to tell you... I love you Naruto..."

Minato looked at his son again, smiling sadly at the words his wife said. He summoned Gamatora to give him the key to the seal and send him to Jaraiya, before looking again at his son. "Naruto... my words to you as a father... be strong, and happy in your life... find someone to love as much as I love your mother... and try to live longer... than the both of us. I'm sorry I had to... give you this burden in your life... but I believe you will be the one... to tame the Nine Tails anger! I have faith in you, my son... and I love you... so much!"

Kushina smiled at Minato the same way he smiled at her earlier. "That was lovely, dear."

"Thank you, my love. "Minato replied lovingly. "And I'm sorry it had... to be this way."

"Eh", Kushina shrugged. "Could be worse. At least my last moments... are with my family."

"Hehehe." Minato laughed. "That's true... Hakke no Fūin Shiki!"

Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Sandaime Hokage (Third Hokage), ran into the clearing as soon as the barrier went down. When he got there all he saw was a baby, sitting on an alter, crying his little heart out. Kushina, Minato, and the Kyuubi were all nowhere to be seen.

Hiruzen bent down and picked up the baby from the alter. "Naruto..." He whispered softly, cradling the baby until he stopped crying. He looked up at the Anbu in front of him, and Fugaku, the leader of the Uchiha Police Force, before making up his mind. "Nobody knows what went on here." He stated instantly. "Clear up this area, remove all traces of the battle and Kyuubi here, and meet me in my office.

"We have some decisions to make."
