A/N: This first few chapters are probably gonna just be a whole bunch of time skips as I age the characters up to where I need them to be. Naruto will be meeting his classmates and discovering his abilities and stuff that he has that is only for him.

"Get that brat!" A villager yelled.

Naruto laughed nervously, running deeper into the crowd to escape the few villagers chasing him. He flowed and moved around the carts, sliding through the market on his way back home towards the orphanage. He escaped the small crowd of villagers just barely, making it to the front door of the orphanage as the mob lost him. When he got there all his stuff was outside the door. Ignoring that, he turned to knock on the orphanage, only for the matron of the place to open the door and throw the only bag he didn't see outside at him.

"I've had enough of you, brat!" The matron yelled at him. "I'm tired of getting complaints and having to stick up for a demon brat like you! You- you- you, you get out of here and never return! Do you hear me?!" She yelled angrily.

Naruto looked up at her, tearing up slightly. "Fine old lady! I didn't even want to live here anyways! Screw you!" He yelled. Ignoring her and the kids that came to jeer at him, Naruto picked up as many bags as he could to head out. At only four years old, he wasn't strong enough to get as much stuff as he would have liked. He grabbed 3 out of the 5 possible bags he could have. Once situated, he flipped off everyone in front of the orphanage, before immediately running towards the woods he was comfortable with. If he had waited a little longer he might have seen the dog-masked Anbu that landed behind the Matron of the orphanage.

"You broke the Hokage's rule." The Anbu told her. Her eyes widened as she felt the hand of the Anbu land on her shoulder. "Let's go."

Hiruzen Sarutobi walked slowly through the woods, his aching limbs not liking the movement. At 60 years old, he was older than most Shinobi would ever make it to in their lives, and his body was letting him know it. His eyes trailed the stream of smoke floating through the air that marked the destination he was walking towards. He had been only walking for a little while before the sound of crying reached his ears. He sighed sadly, walking in the clearing to sit down next to Naruto.

His hand slowly reached out, rubbing lightly into Naruto's hair. This only caused the boy to cry harder. Sarutobi reached out to grab the two fish Naruto had grilled for himself, handing one to the boy as he examined the other one.

"Why..." Naruto whispered.

"Hm?" Hiruzen replied, still looking at the fish.

"Why... why do they hate me so much? I haven't done anything to them..." Naruto cried.

Hiruzen looked at him in pity and sadness. "Oh, my dear boy..." Hiruzen pulled him into a small side hug almost immediately. "You did nothing wrong Naruto, don't ever let anyone tell you different. You are a smart, bright young man, and one day you'll be a strong Shinobi. Just because the villagers can't see the difference between a kunai and the scroll it's stored into doesn't mean you have to listen to the things they say."

Naruto looked at him quizzically. "A scroll and it's kunai?"

Hiruzen smiled down sadly at him. "You'll understand when you're older. Now I heard you don't have a home to go to anymore?"
