Chapter 16: The Fated Uchiha Brothers

Sasuke's pov

I could see Naruto running towards me.

"Sasuke!" He yelled, loudly.

I activated Chidori and hit him with it.

He disappeared with a poof.

"Naruto, huh?"

'What a nuisance.'

We leapt onto a roof and kept on running.

"There's an incredible chakra coming towards us, and fast!" Karin yelled.

We skidded to a halt as a blue man jumped in front of us.

"Sasuke-kun, if you would, please continue by yourself," he said. "It's Itachi-san's orders. The rest of you, please wait here."

"No problem," I replied. "The only reason I formed this team in the first place was to make sure that no one would interfere with me. This works well."

"Sasuke, you can't!" Karin exclaimed. "Let's just kick this guy's ass and go together!"

"I'm not really in the mood for a fight, but if you insist on going in together, I won't go easy on you."

"Karin, stay out of this," I said. "This is my revenge."

I ran past the blue guy to get to the Uchiha hideout.

When I was nearly there, I slowed my pace.

Finally, finally, it was almost time.

This was the battle I was looking forward to the most.

The battle where I could finally kill him.

Itachi.

Third pov

Itachi sat silently in the hideout.

His eyes were closed and it almost looked as if he was sleeping.

His eyes opened, as someone entered the room.

"What do you see with that Sharingan of your's?" he asked the person.

"What do I see?" Sasuke said. "With these eyes of mine, there's one thing I can see clearly... Itachi, I see your death."

The man seemed unfazed by Sasuke's words.

"My death?" he said. "Well then..."

In an instant, he was standing next to Sasuke.

"Try to make it happen."

Hanako's pov

In the pit of my stomach, I could feel a knot.

Itachi's words kept bothering me.

What did he mean by protect the village, if Sasuke tries to destroy it?

Why would Uchiha Itachi, the man who slaughtered his entire clan in one night, care about Konoha?

"Hanako, what's wrong?" Juugo asked. "You've been awfully quiet."

"It's nothing," I replied.

"He's right," Karin said. "You have been really quiet this whole time."

"And since when have you known me to be loud?" I asked them both.

"You usually talk more than that," Juugo said.

"What's wrong with being quiet?" I said. "Besides, sometimes a little peace and quiet can do you good."

"Unlike Suigetsu, over there," Karin grumbled.

I looked over to see Suigetsu fighting the blue guy.

That idiot.

Doesn't he understand we're not supposed to be causing trouble right now?

I sighed.

Good luck, Sasuke!

*time skip to near the end of the battle.*

Sasuke's pov

"Now, your eyes belong to me. I will be sure to take them from you slowly."

Itachi fell to his knees coughing up blood.

His technique began to weaken.

I took this as a chance to attack him.

I threw a kunai at him with an explosive tag on it.

When the smoke cleared, Itachi was standing again.

There was a shield protecting him.

I threw another kunai, this time with several explosive tags on it.

Once more, my attack was deflected.

"They're my eyes," Itachi said, coming closer and closer.

I ran towards him and tried to attack, only to be deflected again.

I scooted back, trying to get away from him, when my back hit the wall.

Itachi came closer and closer.

He reached his hand out toward my face.

"Forgive me, Sasuke. This is the last time."

Itachi smiled at me and poked my forehead.

Then he fell to the ground.

Itachi's death...

I guess Sasuke and Hanako will find out the truth soon.
Do you think Hanako will be able to keep her promise to Itachi?
