I Heard You Yelp

The Illusion answers, "Chasing my tail? But I'll bite yours instead;
I heard you yelp. Like a dog caught chewing his master's shoe
You whimper; tuck tail; coward. Switch it up on me, will you?
"Hah, that will be the day. Sleight-of-hand. Change black cards red,
Moving my coffee cup, hiding my socks, so I have only one to wear.
Tick tock, I will make your universe rock, when I come beware,
For I'm at your door. Call yourself a god, humph; you are a scalawag.
You're nothing more than a projectionist, a blustery windbag."
The Author answers, "My, why are we dissatisfied? So, what if I am
The mischief-maker. I will just erase your memory.
Perhaps I will befuddle your mind. Make you think you're insane.
You will imagine your mind is slipping. Perhaps, you should abstain.
You are just getting old; that's it. Dusty windowsills,
Reflections in mirrors; I will have your doctor prescribe more pills."
