The man suddenly rose, but easily pinned down by one of the soldiers. "Let me go! I must find him! I must find him and kill him!" He struggled to escape until the soldier silenced him with a cloth.

It's almost impossible to communicate with this man as he becomes more and more like a madman.

"Who do you think this 'he' is?" Floyd asked in a low tone.

"Something that I'm curious too," I answered.

"You can't get any information from him?" Floyd asked again.

I sighed. "He can't... He doesn't know. Caleb had interrogated him earlier. It seems they outsource their strategist and the general never even meet him in person," I told Floyd.

"Interesting," Floyd commented. He doesn't seem to care and is already heading back.

"By the way, Darren. I need to talk to you, come to my place after you finish all of this," he said before leaving.

I can predict what he wants to discuss. A topic that hasn't been touched because of all of the commotions. I gave a long sighed. For now, I need to stay focused on clean these up.

When the sun settled down, I was finally free from my work. Many thought going to battle is the hardest part of a war, but it is actually what comes after it. Tidying the mess and handling the aftermath was more tedious than going to the battle itself.

I'm now going to the final issue I need to handle today.

"You call me, Your Highness?" I said as I entered Floyd's quarter.

"First of all, drop your formality, Darren. No one's here," Floyd said as he stood up from his table that was filled with papers.

He asked me to join him for a drink.

I sighed, relaxing myself a bit, sitting down across him. "What do you want to know, Floyd?" I asked while gulping down a wine. It tasted so good after long works.

Floyd doesn't immediately talk. He holds some breaths before opening his mouth. "Caden... he's a Reed?"

I unconsciously flinch hearing that. "He was," I emphasized the past.

Floyd raised his eyebrow upon my words. It wasn't surprising how direct he is with his intention.

"He doesn't go to the Academy?" "No."

"Such a waste, he could be of much use if I discover him soon."

I didn't really like Floyd's wording but kept my mouth shut.

"Why haven't you told me about him?"

"There's nothing to mention," I said.

Floyd gave me a questioning look. "There's a lot," he started.

"He is the one who did the translation works you published last year, right? He becomes the condition for our partnership with Dorsenburg's research to happen. Now, this... solving the loophole that I couldn't find while he's not being here," Floyd argues. "He is definitely worth mentioning."

I stay quiet, don't know what to reply.

Ever since I made Caden work with me, everyone in the North starts to realize how capable he is. That's my intention. While testing him, I indirectly force everyone to recognize him. At one point it's good because it improves his reputation, but... I start to regret my decision. Maybe keeping him hidden was better after all. I never calculate that people outside Northern territory would get an eye on him. It's Floyd to make it worse.

"Hmm, how about he works in the palace? Or capital? I could found some use from him," Floyd propose lightly.

My brows furrow, I glare at him, doesn't even care if he's a prince. "Don't even think so," I threaten.

Floyd again raises his eyebrow, giving me a questioning looks, then scoff. "So, you are really fond of him, huh? Interesting. You never got too attached with a tool."

"Don't say it like that," I disprove.

Floyd and I share similar traits of using people well, so I understand his remarks. But... I got angry at myself, remembering all the things I've done, remembering the time I took him for granted.

"I just... I don't want to see him sad anymore." I said my honest remark.

Floyd was dumbfounded hearing that as he laughed loudly. "Never in my dream, I'll meet someone who can tame you."

I roll my eyes.

"Okay... okay, I got it. I won't touch him," Floyd retreat. "But I really want to meet him again. Bring him on your visit," Floyd said.

I scrunch my eyes and take an internal note to never let that happen.
