"You saved me," Erica said giving me a glass of water, "I never expert in chemistry and medical science." I accept it and gulp it down, doesn't realise how thirsty I was. "Why did you even create an AC in this cold place," I asked her. Northern territory is the coldest region across the continent. It even famous for having a phenomenon of summer snow every couple of years. "I plan to sell those to Southern territory. Besides, the antifreeze substance can actually improve the quality of the machine here," she defends herself. I just sighed. I never thought I could hear those words in this world. "It's good to see you well here, Erica," I told her. "Call me Rose, that's my name now," she said. "Caden," I introduced myself. We let out a giggle on how silly this situation is.

"How can I not met you before?" she asked, "you should have told me that you were here. I will definitely make you work with me here." I give her a warm smile. I learn that Rose is actually the princess of Dorsenburg, the youngest daughter of the king. That's why she can easily come and go around the palace. Famous for being a genius.. and a little crazy with her research. It seems many new inventions come from her. "I'm not your citizen, I came here for diplomatic discussion," I said. "Ah! You are the infamous foreigners," she realised. "Not me, my master," I explain to her. She just raised her shoulder don't care about the details.

"How is he? A good leader? Tell me if you want to change your job. There's always a room for your mind here," Erica said to me. I gave her my warmest smile. "He's.. okay," I said unclearly, doesn't want to give too much detail about my current situation. "A little grumpy nowadays as the proposal doesn't go smoothly," I murmured it down. Saying that I immediately look at my watch, realising I've been gone for a quite sometimes. The sun is almost completely down, but I still got a few minutes left.

"Was Duke Fluenti so against the deals?" she suddenly asked. I look at her and raised my eyebrow, "How did you know?" She chuckles a bit, with a looks of satisfaction. "He's my research college, my front man actually. He just represent how we, as researchers, feel about the deal," she said raising her shoulder, like that's the most obvious response they would give. "Tell me, what is your biggest concern about the proposal and what can I do to fix that?" I asked, hoping I could find a way to help pass the deal. She is thinking, preparing herself to explain it clearly. "We don't find any advantage on collaborating with your country," she begin. "I know that it could boost our economic, but that's just it! Besides, the details about what kind of research would we do together is very unclear. A big grey area, that your country can take advantages of. I can't risk our research would not be used to create some destructive weapons," she said.

Make sense. That part of the deal has also bother me a lot, even though I don't say anything. From the economic and political viewpoints, the deals was actually good as it could improve Dorsenburg production and their standing among other kingdoms in the continent. Unfortunately, if their research was used to create destructive tools, it would trigger an even more worse case scenarios.

I let out a long sigh, don't want to imagine Darren's reaction if tomorrow's meeting ended in failure. "Can you do something about it?" I asked her, hoping I could persuade her. She also let out a long sighed. "I have an idea," she said, "but make sure you clear out that part. If it's good enough, I can persuade everyone to accept it." she said.

"You are a live safer!" I said hugging her.

"Let's say we are even."

A/N

My head hurts. I really want to create a cool chapter by creating a real-life scientific situation. Combined with the political issue needed, double the headache, because I don't have any background knowledges to those topics. On the other hand, I'm having a fun time writing this. Special thanks to my source of informations: Wikipedia, Google, and Internet in general. If you are a major in chemistry or understand about chemical stuffs, do tell me if I made any error. (nicely >_<)

Still a few chapters until this arc ends!

> TMI: I feel that if I don't push myself and finish this arc, it would never finish. That's why it seems too fast, so.. I'll visit this later and make some revisions; they speak in Latin when I wrote in italic; Erica and Rene speak in totally different language which only both of them know; this is the last chapter we call Rose, Erica;
