The thing I fear more than if the deal is off is that how should I explained everything to Darren if he notices I actually affect the decision. After how Rose act in front of me, I don't think I could keep my secret to him, but it's just too soon to tell him everything about me.

Darren didn't say anything on our way home, as Oza was still with us. As soon as we get back to our temporary mansion, he told me to go to his room and dismiss Leo.

"What was that?" he immediately said. I'm confused on how to start the explanation, besides still having a debate with myself whether telling him the truth or not. "What are you talking about before? You saving someone?" he talked.
"Yesterday, I encounter Ro-, Princess Rose. She asked for my help for some accident on her lab, a poisoning, I happened to know the cure," I only said the important part.

"And how do you know Princess Rose?" he continues. This question, the inevitable question that I tried to avoid. I don't know how to answer this one without revealing my secret. Darren notices my hesitation to answer as he suddenly pushed me to the wall, creating a really loud noise. Ouch. I hope it won't become a bruise.

"Enough with your game, Caden. Don't you think I notice your secret? How do you suddenly able to understand multiple languages? How do you suddenly have an ability in combat and fight back? And now, how do you suddenly make friends with the person who is absolutely impossible for you to know, less even met before?" Darren said, pushing my shoulder even harder to the wall. "So, tell me, Caden. Tell me everything before my patience ran out," he instructed me. Don't your patients already runs out? And here I thought I already know how to handle his dominance. My whole body scream to let me speak all truth.

"I'm not him," I started, "I'm not the old Caden."

"What?" Darren looks confused, "If you are not Caden, then what are you? And where is the real Caden"

"Sorry, I said it wrongly. I'm Caden but not the old pathetic one," even I, despise my old self. "At the time I lose conscious after my attempt suicide, I gain memories. So many memories. Memories of my old lives, before I was born as Caden," I explain. I can feel his grip on my shoulder is loosen up, I took it as permission to continue. "Along with my memories, also the knowledge I've learned. That's how I understand languages and combat skills without being taught," I said. Darren let me go, and he slowly let me go. He walked to the couch, open up a bottle of wine, pour it on his glass and drink the whole things up. "How Princess Rose fits all of these?" he asked. I don't want to answer this. It's not my right to talk about other's secrets.

"Is she likes you?" Darren asked. Shit! I immediately go to him, kneeling down in front of him. My pride has long gone when I deal with him. "Please," I start. "I would do anything you said. I would be your tools. You could do anything you want to me, but please. Please, don't tell anyone about this. Especially about Rose. It would be very dangerous for her if they know the secret of her existence," I beg. "Keep calm, Caden. I know how important this information is," Darren said smirking while making me look at him. "As long as you do what I said, I would never leak this secret. It was too precious for others to know."

Somehow, I have a bad feeling about this.

We come back to the station in the afternoon. We were invited to the palace to say our departure to the royals and council members. Darren makes sure that our Kingdom will soon make contacts with them. After saying our farewell, we were dropped in the same place the first time we arrived here. I saw Rose already waiting at the station.

"I wish you good health, Princess Rose," Darren said, kissing her hands. "You too," Rose said a little cold. They are both alpha, and having them emit their dominance over the other is an unpleasant sight. Darren bow to her and head inside the train.

"I hope you will visit here again soon," Rose said while holding my hands. I smiled upon hearing that. It's been so long since I have a person who genuinely cares about my well being. "I will," I assured her, "it's a part of the deal, right." She looks like she is going to tear up, but let go of my hand from her grip. Right now, I really need to avoid Darren be in the same space with her. I wave my hand and turn before I feel my hands getting pulled and Rose suddenly hugged me.

"Vale mi," she said. Doesn't seem to care about how much eyes see that. I can feel her tear spilled on my clothes. The loneliness of not having friends that really understand you must have built inside her. I return her hug. "Te videre."

She quickly wiped her tears and let me go. She instructed the staff to start the train. The sound of the engine start marks my departure and I step into it.
