Chapter 9

"Move out of my way" I said calmly to try and control the anger that was slowly rising inside.

"Jake just listen to me" I moved away and looked at her. "Travis is planning on hurting you and your little girlfriend if you don't break it off" she said which made me roll my eyes.

"Tell me something I don't know" I replied.

"Jake please just do as he says."

"Where is he Melissa?” I shouted whilst looking around me. “Because I don’t see him therefore no Melissa, Travis doesn't control my life"

"Jake I don't want you to get hurt" she said.

"Why are you telling me this? I don't care about you anymore Melissa" I said while looking at her to make sure she heard me.

"Jake this is the only time you'll talk to me."

"Urm I think you'll find that you’re the only one talking and I have to listen to you whine because you’re blocking my car."

"Jake don't be like that... You've changed. You would always spend time with me and talk to me whenever I needed you... It's all because of that little leach" she sneered.

"Don’t you dare" I said in a low voice.

"Well it's true"

"No it isn't and I used to give you time because no one else would but now I see why." I pushed her to the side, not to hard so she didn't fall but hard enough to make her move. I quickly opened the door and jumped straight in.

"Jake" I heard Melissa whine before I closed the door. She banged her hand against the glass of the window before I drove out of my parking space and straight towards the exit. I needed to get home quick to change. As I braked at a red light I reached over onto the passenger seat and grabbed my phone.

Hey baby do u want me 2 pick u up now b4 I start getting changed for the race xx

I sent to Hayden before quickly throwing my phone on the passenger seat and driving towards the little coffee shop near Hayden's house. When I pulled up in front of the shop I heard my phone make a noise and looked to see a new message.

Ye ok I'll b bout 5 mins xx

"Hello may I help you?" the over friendly waitress asked from across the counter.

"Could I get 2 hot chocolates to go and..." I stepped back to see what deserts they had in the display cabinet. "2 chocolate chip cookies... The large ones" I said. The girl smiled before turning around to make my order. I looked down at the time on my phone and couldn't help but smile at the picture that I had of Hayden at the side of her text message. I would put it as my background but I didn't want to risk it being seen at college and then people constantly asking me questions about it. However, for my background I had taken a picture secretly on a nice day when we were at Becki's at the side of the pool. We had both been kissing but I made sure in the picture you could mainly see my side of the face. I mean you could see there was a girl in the picture but just not sure what she looked like. I know I sound like a love sick teenage boy but I honestly don't care. I mean she means the world to me and I would do anything to keep her safe.

"Here's you order that will be £12" The girl said. As I reached into my suit jacket for my wallet I felt my tie being pulled. "Or I won't charge you and I'll let you settle your payment some other way" she said while biting her lip and winking at me. The little act made me feel sick I mean don't get me wrong she was nice looking but she wasn't Hayden. No one could compare to my Hayden.

"I'm alright thanks I have a girlfriend" I said whilst trying to pull away gently. I suddenly felt myself be pulled again but even closer.

"Well I'm not going to tell anyone... I mean you wouldn't be the first guy I've slept with who's had a girlfriend" when she said this I actually think I was going to be sick.
