“Guys” Becki said which made me pull away. I turned to look at her and smiled.
“Has Jamie asked you yet?” Jake asked whilst taking hold of my right hand and looking at Becki.
“No” She sighed. “I mean I don’t blame him if he doesn’t because he kept asking me all over summer and I just told him to wait. He’s probably sick of waiting”
“I doubt that Becki” I said, smiling.
“He’s probably trying to build up his confidence to ask you for the last time” Jake said. “You know what Jamie’s like”
Becki shook her head slightly before changing the subject. “Who are you racing against tonight?”
“The Wolves... so no doubt Travis will be there”
"Is that a clever idea?" Becki asked whilst Jake shrugged at her.
"You never back out of a challenge" we heard someone say. We looked up and saw Scott stood in the doorway. "No matter what team’s challenged you" he said whilst walking towards us and sitting down.
"Jake I don't like the thought of you racing a wolf." I mumbled. I saw Scott roll his eyes whilst smiling and felt Jake slowly pull me towards him.
"So Becki..." Scott said.
"Baby there's nothing to worry about." Jake said whilst kissing the top of my hair.
"I know but I still do, I mean there's 10 of them Jake but only 5 of you guys... I don't like that and I know you can't back out but I still don't like it."
"It'll be fine baby everything will be ok." he whispered while rubbing his hand lightly up and down my back. I couldn't help but sigh and lean further into him until I remembered that we were in the middle of his classroom. As I started to pull away I heard Jake groan quietly which made me smile. I looked up at the time and noticed that I should be getting ready to go home as I finished early today. Usually I would wait for Jake but he had a meeting tonight so I thought I would just go home. Becki was stood at the doorway waiting for me.
"I’m gonna go guys" I said.
"I'll talk to you later" Jake said as I leaned down to quickly kiss him. I pulled away and hugged Scott before walking out of the doorway and straight towards the main entrance.
Jake's POV
"Right brilliant ideas today. Next week I want to know from the maths, science and modern language department on how you will involve students more in extra curriculum activities" Mr Green said.
Brilliant, I thought sarcastically, I was supposed to come up with an idea last week. I don’t even see why we need to do this because none of the students are going to take part. I think I’m going to need Hayden’s help with this.
Everyone around me started to pack up all of their things. I grabbed my folder from the table and my case from underneath before standing up and walking out of the door.
"See you tomorrow Jake" a few of the heads of department said as I walked out of the room. After saying bye to everyone, before closing the door, I started to walk down the empty hallway. I can't believe I have to race tonight when all I wanted to do was go home, do some work and talk to Hayden before I go to sleep. I walked out of the entrance and could see someone leaning against my car in the distance. As I walked closer to my car I kind of wished that I had stayed in the office now.
"What do you want?" I asked coldly.
"Jake don't be like that I just need to talk to you" Melissa said. I rolled my eyes and tried to move around her to reach for the driver's door handle. However, she moved to the side so she was blocking me and I couldn't open the door.
