Droplet

The tension breaks, and the water droplet falls.

A planet is formed, dust and rock crashing together as if time was sped up. They crush together like a ball of foil, collapsing and condensing and growing. Volcanoes erupt from its surface, and hot lava floods the ground. It bubbles and boils, until it begins to harden and cool. The rock cracks, splitting with the sound of thunder, and becomes multiple plates.

The volcanoes, now long ago, had formed a rich atmosphere of gas. But between the cracks, water begins to flood to the surface. It burbles and pops, spreading and rising. Only the highest points of rock remain dry.

Particles in the water begin to move, wriggling and getting energy from the sun, as green life shoots from eroded earth. The particles combine and multiply until they're as large as a fist. And they climb. They crawl out of the water and onto the land and grow and grow and there's thousands, millions of different species.

They roam the earth, eating and multiplying until a massive meteor strikes the planet, sending a wave of dust across it, blocking out the sun.

Life... dies.

But some survived.

Without the sun, the planet is frozen. Creatures with thick fur learn how to survive in the landscape. They grow and grow, and man begins to evolve. Two legs, two arms, opposable thumbs, straight back.

The dust settles, and the ice cracks. Water, once again, pours through. The ice age is over. Animals become trapped in the flood, in glaciers. Some manage to survive, again. Civilization grows in this new climate. The poles are frozen, and the planet is hotter at the equator. Modern Earth.

Castles are built, and torn down. Armies tear at each other, and blood makes the ground slick and red. New land is discovered, and man rules the earth. Technology is advanced. Cities built, relationships made, issues settled. Humanity, generally, moves on.

The water droplet hits the ground.
