Chapter 30:

My eyes opened. I saw glass windows and beds everywhere. Was I in heaven? Or was I in the hospital wing? I heard a voice and turned to it

Sage: " Hey hey! It's ok, lie back down."

I was relieved that I wasn't dead. I still had more to life. I layed back down and felt a stinging pain on my arm once again. I lifted my arm up with my other arm. I remember now, the snake.

Sage: " Yah, you got bit by a snake. We're still not sure what kind it is, but it was poisonous."

I didn't care about that, I just wanted to know how I was alive

Me: " Wait, how am I still alive?"

Sage: " Well, Madam Pomfrey used a spell to suck the venom out but-"

Wrong question.

Me: " No, no Sage. I mean who saved me?"

Sage: " Oh, ugh. Malfoy was chasing you since you wandered off and he found you laying on the ground, choking out white liquid. He shot up the red mark and I saw it since I was back with the rest of class and Snape. I told Snape and he came and saw you. He lifted you up and the whole class was gossiping while we were going back to Madam Pomfrey."

Oh, so Draco saved me? I wasn't surprised since he was trying to get a statement from me ever since we... kissed.

Sage: " And don't think I don't know that you and Malfoy kissed."

I lifted my head back to her. Oh once I see Draco, i'm going to kick his arse since he told her about the-

Sage: " Relax, it's ok. You don't have to explain yourself. I kind of knew you and Malfoy were friends. I saw you playing with him in the library on the first day of school, hugged him in the McDonald's restaurant on our birthday and I saw Malfoy kiss you in the woods. If I'm being honest here, I got really pissed when I first knew, but I'm ok with it. BUT I SWEAR ON MERLIN HAZEL, IF YOU DATE MY COUSIN I WILL BE AS FURIOUS AS MY MOTHER WHEN SHE FOUND OUT I BROKE HER WAND WHEN WE WERE EIGHT!"

Oh, Bellatrix's anger is... it's horrible. You never want to mess with her. But I was so happy to find out she was ok with us being friends. Besides, I would never date Draco. Especially with my life right now. I heard the door open, Oli came up and said

Oliver: " Are you ok Hazel? It's been five days."

I'm sorry, did I hear that correctly? Five Days! What was this snake?

Me: " Oh, I'm ok haha. Just a little sore on my arm, that's all."

I was still in a hospital gown. I didn't even notice it.

Oliver: " That's wonderful to hear, listen, I got to head to Quidditch, but I'll find you later! I'll see you Hazel!"

He waved goodbye at me and nodded to Sage. For some reason, I didn't care once about him. Was that weird? Me and Sage were talking about what's been going on in class for five days when I heard the door slam open five minutes later. It was Draco. He saw me awake and dropped his bag. He had a wide smile and came running towards me. I happily opened up my arms without having to think of Sage and closed them when he jumped to hug me. It felt so good to have him here. We stayed there for a while, feeling safe with each other's presence. I could smell the usual apple and cologne on him. I didn't mind. That's when Sage entered in and said

Sage: " Ok you two, knock it off. I said it was ok for you two to become friends, not absolute best buddies. Hazel, you already have one, me!"

It got awkward and we started releasing each other and we both started saying

Me and Draco: " Oh yah, right, um, sorry."

We were staring at each other when Draco said

Draco: " I got the news from, well Wood. We walked past each other while I was with Crabbe and Goyle when he told me. I'm so glad you're awake. I was worried sick about you!"

Aw, he cared enough to worry about me. It was nice seeing Draco this happy. He was going to go in for another hug when Sage interrupted

Sage: " *clears her throat* Remember, I know Malfoy that you kissed Hazel."

His smile dropped and his eyes opened big. His arms went back to his side and he replied

Draco: " Oh, um."
I also was awkwardly sitting there. She then said

Sage: " Ok, well Madam Pomfrey told me that you have the rest of the day off, so you don't have to go to any classes. I'm going to go and meet up with Fred for our date-"

I looked at her in a confused look

Me: " Um, did you just say you and Fred were going on a DATE!?"
Her bloodstream from her face flushed, she was pale so quick

Sage: " Oh, um, yah. Me and Fred aren't a 'thing' yet but we just decided to have a date, cause, why not?"

She was laughing awkwardly then ran out of the door. She was yelling

Sage: " Bye Hazel! Love you but gotta go!"

She was gone just like that. Draco then got the chance to hug me again, this time being more comfortable. I can definitely say that Draco, out of all my friends, gives the best hugs. I'm not sure why though. He then pulled apart and we just stared at each other. That's the fiftieth time. Like I said before, I've marked myself. I heard him say

Draco: " Are you mad at me for the kiss?"

He said in a quiet tone. I smiled and replied saying

Me: " No, but I want to let you know, we can't... be that. Draco, I can't be like that with you. Whether I like it or not."

I could see him get sadder. He understood it too.

Draco: " Yah, I know. I care for your safety as well, and I know if you are with me, my parents and... you-know-who. That wouldn't be great let's just say."

I agreed with him. He seemed disappointed but knew it was the right thing to do. We talked for a little while about what's been happening in the school, but I was too tired to do anything else. I told Draco to go to class since he wanted to stay with me, but I insisted. I went to sleep for the rest of the day.
