Chapter TWENTY SEVEN

"You need to stop crying, everything is going to be fine, you already look pallid, please stop crying" Temmy tried to console me... I did try to stop crying but the tears wouldn't stop at the thought of everything, i remembered the days my mother treated me like trash..

"No wonder my mom hates me, because i am not her child, i thought as much..she showers my little sister so much love..and me, i am just so insignificant to her, temmy i have to talk to mom and dad soon, i want to know my biological parents, i want to know how my mother looks like, i bet she wouldn't treat me this way" i said with a broken voice
"I don't deserve any of this ill treatments from my mom" i explained

Temmy wrapped me in a big hug.."yes you dont...you will be fine trust me, i know you are a strong person in and out" she said

Mom entered much later, she was talking to someone on the phone..
"Shade am so sorry" she apologized

"Its not your fault mom, if i didn't hear you discuss about it with Adekunle's mom, i was still bound to know somehow" i said

"Thank you my dear" she said

"Mom, do you know anything about my biological parents?" I asked, i wanted someone who can tell me about my parents

"No, i don't, all i can remember is you were adopted when you were a year old, your uncle fought with your father then, he told him to be patient  that he would have his own child when the time comes, but he didn't listen he wanted a child, that's all i know" she explained

"So you don't know them at all" i said face palmed

"Its going to be ok" temmy assured

"Your father is in the best position to explain this things to you, don't worry too much about it" she said, is it possible, am very worried, i just can't wait for dad to come pick me, he was so shocked when i threw the question at him requesting to know about my biological parents...i told him i wanted to leave uncle's house but he insisted on coming to pick me...am just eager to see my father..

"Are you listening to me at all?" temmy asked

"Sorry, i was lost in thought, am just waiting for dad to get here as soon as possible" i said

"do you really have to leave?, dad said we could go out, you know anywhere.." she said, all that didn't matter to me again, i really wanted to go home..

"I have to go bestie, i hope you understand"

"Yeah, i understand..i will miss you" she was sad, i was also sad, mom left us alone

"How is it going with Adekunle?" I asked

"He called me last night, you were already asleep, shade that marriage won't work, i can't marry that guy, i love David so much, although Adekunle seems like a good guy but i can't marry him, i can't betray David" she explained

"So what are you going to do?"

"Am going to run away!" She whispered "even mom doesn't know about this, am going to disappoint dad on that day, he can't keep on controlling my life" she continued "this has to stop"

"What?!, where would you go?" I asked very shocked in disbelief

"Anywhere bestie, just anywhere, i can't marry that guy and you know it"

"I dont think running away is the best, you have to think about your mom, she would be dead worried, you are the only one she's got, please don't do that" i said to convince her

"What should i do? Should i sit and watch how my dad would marry me off to a stranger?, i can't let that happen" she said determined

"I don't really know, but i don't think running away is the best option, that Adekunle guy seems like a nice guy, did you see the way he looked at you when he came with his family? I think he is a shy person and understanding too, maybe you could meet up with him and explain to him you love someone else, ask him if he's really in support of the marriage maybe he would understand you"

"Really? I haven't thought of that before, i will give it a try, thank you sweetie" she said and we hugged each other tightly..

I yelled at the boys outside, this is rubbish i thought, we can't afford to loose guard...."Cabril, come here" i shouted

"Yes boss" he replied

"What were you guys doing before the auction?, we could have been in a deep mess, i simply told you guys no drinking of alcohol during work, we would have lost millions this morning, i suppose you are the smartest of the boys here but am disappointed in you, very disappointed!" I said 

"Am sorry boss" he said

"Thank your stars i came just in time, i would have chop your head off before chief chops mine, you know how ruthless he is"

"Am sorry boss, it won't repeat itself again, i promise!"

"Better, use your head and think straight! i don't want this to ever happen again because of your foolishness and that of others"

"Yes boss"...

I discharged cabril and the rest of the boys after so much warnings and threats..

I entered into my office and saw several missed calls from chief...i dialed his number immediately, he picked up at the second ring
"Where the hell did you keep your phone " he barked out, i knew he was angry already

"Am really sorry sir, i just went outside briefly" i said, i can't inform him of what had happened earlier today..

"Shut up now and listen to me, i will send a very important information  to your phone now, its about our new tag and i want you to take three of the smartest boys along with you, sharp! I want a perfect job no mistakes! am i clear?"

"Yes chief, you can trust me on that, i have always done a perfect and clean work, just trust me" i said assuring chief to be calm

"Good, i trust you, you will see the message after this call..

"Ok sir!"

After two minutes, i received a text from chief concerning the new job.. I did all i was meant to do and arrange for everything perfectly!

I enjoy doing my work that's because am perfect at it!!
