Chapter 10: Trey
I watch her as she explains everything. How she puts up with all that, I have no clue. Why she trusts me with her life, even though she has told no one else, not even her best friends, I have no clue.
I think of a way to comfort her but none come to mind as I sit there shocked.
A tear falls from the corner of her eye and falls along her cheek then slowly makes its way along her jaw to just drop to the ground. I feel her shift to lean her head on my shoulder and I slowly slip my arm around her. I feel her tense for a moment before relaxing into my grip. It feels right. Sitting with her here at the perfect place.
The sun is sinking in the sky and I hear her sigh. I pull her closer right as the daylight fades.
