There was no better way to wake up than to see a random stranger in your room at 6am. It was the day of your first day of school and you woke up irritated because you saw a silver-haired boy sitting on the side of your window ledge. He was wearing a red demon king academy uniform that was meant to distinguish that he's royalty. I couldn't help but notice how well his uniform fit on him, but it was not a sight I wanted to see bright and early in the morning. Your maid had let him in because he was the boy that I was supposed to go to school with, Ray grandsdori.

"Why are you here, get out of my room." you say as you throw a pillow at him. You couldn't help, but feel a sense of familiarity coming from him even though it was the first time you had met him.

He was quick to chuck the pillow back at you, which definitely woke you up since you didn't expect him to be so strong. "Your maid let me in. My name is Ray Grandsdori and we're supposed to go to school together so come on. Get ready."

The fact that it was 6am made you mad. You weren't used to waking up early since you were a night owl. "UGH. no. go on without me. I'm quitting. I don't need school, i'm already stronger than everyone there"

Ray couldn't help but chuckle. "Seems to me you're not as strong as you think you are. You can't even wake up to go to school."

Why I oughta. You discretely conjure a sword from under your pillow and hold it against Ray's neck. "Say that one more time, I couldn't quite hear you the first time." you say as you smile innocently with your blade slowly scratches the skin on his neck, which causes him to bleed slightly. He wasn't fazed by your actions though. He chuckles as he quickly pulls the blade from your hand and pins you on the ground. Before you could even process what had happened, ray was already on top of you, holding your wrists so you couldn't move. Your face was inches away from his as he smiles looking into your now lit up demon eyes, which causes you to blush.

Suddenly, your maid knocks on your door to remind you that you needed to get ready for school.

"Okay, got it alice." you shout as you turn your attention to the door, making sure she doesn't come in. Once you were sure the maid wouldn't come in you turn towards Ray, who was still straddling you with a curious smile on his face.

"Fine, i'll go. Now will you get off me!" You couldn't help but blush slightly since you were so close to him. You push him off of you to which he gets back up to go back to the window ledge. "I'll be waiting here for you, my love"

Your face instantly turns bright red as he says that. "Shut up and get out. I need to change" You quickly push him out of your room and slam the door behind him. The school uniform was utterly terrible. Since you were technically of royalty, they gave you the red and white standard uniform that included a red coat and a white button up. You hated the idea that you were required to wear the uniform so you opted to wear a black long sleeve form fitting minidress instead and paired it with some thigh high lace up boots. You decided to put on the red coat just so you wouldn't get into that much trouble.

Ray had been waiting outside your door. You hear him whistle as you walk past him to go into the dining hall to eat breakfast. "We both know that that's not part of the dress code" Raysays as he smirks and walks next to you, following you to the dining hall. There were only 5 minutes left until school started at 8am, but you weren't worried. You knew that you'd be able to use a teleportation spell to get into the academy within seconds so you took your time finishing up your chocolate chip waffles and the rest of your breakfast, hoping to piss off Ray as he waited for you to finish. Ray wasn't the least bit concerned about the time, mainly because he expected that you'd do this on the first day of school since Melheis warned him about you a few days prior. You and Ray eventually get to school right before the first bell rings and meet the head principle of the academy. Luckily, the principle didn't notice that you weren't wearing the uniform under your coat, but you were pretty sure he just didn't want to say anything. We were excused from our morning classes and given a tour around the academy since Ray and you were class A royalty, which is the highest and most skilled rank in the demon realm so he wanted to make sure to kiss ass to both of you. As the principal went on and on about the academy, you decided to sneak off on your own. Luckily, all the attention was on Ray so it was easy for you to go off on your own and explore restricted areas of the castle. As you were going through the restricted files in the school library, you could feel an intimidating aura coming from the nearby hallway. The aura was so strong that it sent chills down your spine. You couldn't move as the aura came closer and closer to you. This was the first time you've ever felt genuine fear and you couldn't do anything but hide. As you take cover underneath a table, you were praying that you wouldn't get caught, but also mentally preparing yourself in case you had to fight. Eventually, the presence goes away and you come out of the table. You peek out into the hallway to see a dark shadow walking away right before it turned the corner. You drop down to your knees as you sigh out of relief that you didn't get caught. There definitely is something up at the academy, but today was not the day you wanted to die trying to find out. You quickly got up, straightened up your coat and dress, and skipped off in the opposite direction of the dark shadow. From the distance, you hear grunting and yelling so you decide to check it out. As you get closer to the sound, you eventually reach the 3rd floor of the stadium where the majority of the students were gathered in the courtyard. Ydol and Gaios were preparing everyone for the magic sword tournament and challenged everyone to try lifting a magic sword that was impaled into the ground. Majority of the class was struggling, whether they used brute strength or magic, no one was able to lift a sword. Typical. As you were leaning on the rail and watching the class, Ray catches you off guard as he suddenly appears next to you.

"Having fun just watching? You should show them how it's done." Ray gives you a cheeky smile before turning back to watch the students.

"Eh. they can figure it out themselves. I doubt any of them will be able to make it to the tournament anyway." Just as you were looking around the courtyard, a misfit with black hair and red eyes catches your attention. As his demon eyes began to glow, you could see he was controlling the sword from the other side of the courtyard. Within milliseconds, the sword comes flying to the boys hand as he valorantly holds it. Both you and Ray were intrigued by the misfit as we continued to watch his moves.

Ydol and Gaios looked at each other as they challenged the misfit in a sword match.

"Excellent, anos voldigoad! All right, I'll be the one to take you on." You break out laughing after hearing gaios say that because anyone with brains could beat gaios, even a disabled ant. Your attention eventually goes to the misfit because he was the guy that the elders were talking about during the meeting

"Anyone else with a sword in hand? Or are all the rest of you wussess?" Just as Ydol finishes his sentence, you hear people gasping as you see Ray lifting up a magic sword from the ground. You're shocked because just 2 seconds ago, he was right next to you. people start murmuring and questioning who Ray was.

"You're the new transfer student? Then show us how skilled you are instead of introducing yourself" Even though you didn't know how strong ray was, you knew that Ydol definitely was about to eat his words. Ray couldn't help but play dumb like he always does.

"Oh, man. Now I really wish I'd left it in there" Ray's words irked ydol enough to make him attack first. Just as ydol was about to strike, ray instantly knocked him out from the back and knocks him out. "I have no business winning, do i?" Ray says right before ydol drops to the ground. You facepalm as you watch because you had a little hope ydol would be able to throw in at least one punch, but he was as weak as always. You expected ydol to lose since you had been able to beat him since you were 6 years old, but you thought they'd be better by now.

Just as Ray finishes knocking ydol out, Anos Voldigoad lands a hard punch on Gaios, which knocks him out as well.

"I wouldn't say that. It's not all that uncommon for one of the seven elder demon emperors to lose. Those are fine sword skills. But you were really holding back, weren't you?" Anos says as he looks at Ray with a smug smile on his face. They both look at each other with a familiar stare as if they've known each other before, a feeling you shared as you looked at both ray and anos.

A/N: hello! I hope everyone is enjoying the story so far. I was wondering if you all prefer longer stories or shorter stories. I personally like to read longer stories so I'm trying to figure out a nice writing style and whether it'd be better to write longer chapters. Please comment and let me know what you like and it'll help me get some ideas!
