I head into my mom's new bakery with the twins not looking behind me.
I still couldn't believe she managed to open a bakery in a month.
"Mother! Your daughter and grandchildren are here!" I exclaimed.
"Did you walk here?" Kaya asked as she walked out from behind the counter to greet me.
"Yeah, I need to get away from Billy." I answered.
"Are you two still fighting over the family's secrets?" Kaya asked.
"He just won't let it go. It's not my business to tell so I won't open my mouth about it." I replied.
"I can talk to him, if you want, Maya." Kaya said.
I rolled my eyes at my mom.
"Only if you want to deal with it." I said.
"Fine. I will." Kaya said.
"Now feed me some delicious dessert." I said.
"Go sit down and I'll bring you some fresh baked goodies." Kaya said, smiling.
I took the twins to a nearby table and watched my mom move behind the counter with a tray.
"How do you manage by yourself?" I asked her.
"I'm old enough to take care of myself but for your information I have April, Emily and Kim working for me." She answered.
"Mom, what if I work for you?" I asked.
"Don't even think about it." She replied, sternly.
"You're right, I would only eat everything." I said, laughing.
