how to feel happier NOW?

Hello, everyone!

Haven't been feeling good in a while? Feeling stressed and anxious lately? Happiness isn't an easy feeling to hold onto. It seems fleeting especially in times like this.

However, worry not. Feeling happy and upbeat can be a lot easier than you thought with my super easy steps!

Let's dive right into them!

1. Groom yourself up, honey! It's time to ditch the emo Tumblr look and take some action. Take a warm shower. Change into fresh, comfortable clothes. Comb your hair, wash your face, put some makeup if you please or just indulge in some skin care.

2. Declutter your space. Yes, sadly, our mothers were right all the while when they nagged us to clean our rooms. Cleaning gives you a sense of achievement and in turn, boosts your mood!

3. Shake it up! I know it's hard to get your ass outta the bed, when all your energy has disappeared. We know that feeling, but just push yourself a little. Take a walk. Finish a workout routine. Dance to a foot tapping number. Move your body. Post workout glow-up and the happy hormones (endorphins, serotonin, dopamine to name a few) are things you don't wanna miss, right?

4. Keep your phone away for a while. Studies show that prolonged screen usage leads to depression, mood swings and short tempers. It's okay to keep your phone away and pay attention to the life outside it. Perhaps, you may find something which will make you happier.

5.  Go through your old photo albums. Nothing beats the nostalgia of going through old photographs. Whether it be embarrassing haircuts or family picnics, I'm sure it'll make you feel better.

6. Hug someone. Let yourself lie on someone's lap. Ask for someone's shoulder  "We need that touch from the one we love almost as much as we need air to breathe." Remember? *cue adorable Cole Sprouse gifs* It's okay to seek help from your family and friends. It's okay.

7. Listen to upbeat music. Keep those emo tracks for some other day. Let yourself soak in some nice, soothing and happy music.

8. Smile even if you don't feel like. A smile engages less muscles than a frown, taking away that extra little strain on your muscles. 

9. Make plans. Be it a date night with your S/O, dinner with your mother or a sleepover with your friends, having something fun to look forward to makes you happy instantly.

10. Last, but not the least. Listen, straighten up! Push your shoulders back, chest out, neck straight and walk like a queen. A good posture, without a doubt, uplifts your mood. Try it right away!
