Hey, guys!

I wanted to take this chapter to talk about how to have happy relationships. I'm no expert, nor do I have a lot of experience, but whatever I do, I wanna share with you guys. :)

For me, the most important part of any relationship is gratitude and appreciation. Little gestures of appreciation and thankfulness goes a really long way - thanking your mom for a delicious dinner, thanking your brother for helping you out in your assignment, thanking your friend for talking to you when you needed her, thanking your partner for planning a date night. These little things, though sometimes expected of the person, do take efforts, no matter how big or small. And more than the physical efforts, it's so important to acknowledge someone's love and care towards you. So many of us, including me, get the care and love of someone for granted, but appreciating someone just does magic. So, try to take out some time from your day and drop off a compliment to your loved ones, let them know you are grateful for them being in your life.

Another important thing which I'm still learning is communication

Another important thing which I'm still learning is communication. In every relationship, many of us have basic expectations from the other person. However, we must understand that people aren't mind-readers and that if someone isn't doing or saying something, it doesn't mean they don't want to. It's so important to communicate your feelings, emotions, expectations, worries to the other person for them to see what they can do towards them and how you can work as a team towards it.

As much good as a relationship needs for two sides to work together, it also needs either sides to work better individually. It means that, yes, relationships are about two people but it is also about you as an individual. In a relationship, especially a romantic one, it's so easy to be dependent on your partner. While it's great to rely on your partner, you need to be your own person without that person. Before them, you were a whole person; with them, you are a whole person; after them, you will still be a whole person. Take some time out for yourself, to let yourself grow into who you are meant to be. Even without the other person, it's important to be so comfortable with ourselves that we don't NEED the other person to stay present. We shouldn't NEED a person, but WANT a person. There's a difference between them.
