Chapter 48 – Destruction of Love

“DUMATING KA NAAAA!!!!” Halos matumba ako sa biglaang pag-salubong sa akin ng tatlong maria (Relle, Yellie, and Trixie)

“Hindi hologram lang ako” Pamimilosopo ko pero I’m not actually in a good mood to be happy.

Kumalas na silang tatlo sa pag-kakayakap sa akin and hindi ko napansin na parang kumpleto ang barkada except kay Dj. *deep breath* I kinda missed him.

Karlo holding hands with Clary, Ashlyn, Olaf, Mark, Rico, Sofy, Relle, Yellie, Trixie and Sheena. I can’t believe they’re here.

“Anong hangin at kumpleto kayo?” Tanong ko

“DUHHH! REUNION ‘TO! “ Sabay-sabay na sabi nila at naka-limutan ko nga pala. Need. Some. Memory. Pill.

“Jeez oo na naka-limutan ko na.” Sabi ko and they laughed. As the usual. Parang bumalik lang kami sa pagiging highschool.

Nag-arkila si Karlo ng Van para dumeretso daw muna kami sa bahay dahil mag-hahanda daw si Mommy. Tinanong ko sila kung anong meron ang sabi lang nila Welcome back party daw. June palang naman a. In two days I will have another project pero sa Palawan naman. The client never told me kung sino ang magiging ka-trabaho ko pero jeez! Can I please just have a break? Kung pwede lang tumanggi pero malaki ang ibabayad sa akin. And besides my client is a known personality and sabi niya kumuha pa daw siya ng Highly paid architect sa ibang bansa para daw unique ang design ng ipapagawa niyang studio.

Nag-karoon ng mini party sa bahay nila Naomi and it was fun though. Kahit na tinamaan na ng jetlag si Naomi, still she managed to have some fun, kahit papaano naman kasi naka-limutan niya ng konti ang mga masamang experience niya sa Nashville including the scene of her and Aria inside Sofy’s café.

On the other hand si Aria naman ay wala nang ibang ginawa kundi ang kaawaan ang sarili niya.

“I hate myself!” Aria shouted her lungs out. Buti nga walang tao sa bundok na iyon kundi iisipin na nila na isa siyang retarded woman.

Aria sobbed as she reminisce the slap she did to Naomi. Maski siya hindi siya maka-paniwala sa ginawa niya. Maybe her guts told her? Pero she was just doing it for DJ too. Babagsak ang kumpanya ng pamilya ni DJ kung hindi itutuloy ang kasal. Her dad wanted a company merging with the Gonzales’s. Pero napag-kasunduan din since may relasyon si DJ at Aria, they need to be married as a seal for the company merging and both of them agreed with it since they really loved each other.

The night DJ confronted Aria,

 

Aria walked inside David’s room silently and she almost fell to her knees when she saw how painful David looks. Based on his sorrowful eyes he is in deep confusion.

“Aria,” David muttered and Aria ran and hugged him. Yung yakap na hindi sila mag-kakahiwalay kalian man

“Shh, David, kung ano ang problema mo I’ll be here. Tell me please” Sabi ni Aria na pinipigilang maging mahina dahil alam niyang kailangan niyang maging matatag para kay David.

“Aria, hindi ko alam…I don’t know, but I hate myself right now. I know this is not right but…” Hindi na natapos ang sinasabi ni David dahil bigla nalang siyang umiyak . Alam na ni Aria ang lahat. Narinig niya si Yana and Peter na nag-uusap and there she wouldn’t believe any of it hanggang sa nakita niya ang phone ni Yana na naka-lapag lamang sa sofa.

Aria couldn’t help but become curious so she opened the gallery and too much of her surprise halos ma-ubusan na siya ng kilay sa nakita niyang stolen shot. Right in the middle of a grassy park, Naomi and David holding hands while walking. Aria swiped to the next image and lalo pa siyang naiyak. Naomi and David sitting at a garden chair habang magka-harap at magka-dikit ang noo tapos kita sa picture ang tawa at ngiti habang naka-taas ang intertwined fingers nila leveling on their face.

Habang umiiyak si David hindi na din mapigilang ma-iyak ni Aria. It’s too painful for her.

“Alam ko na” Sabi ni Aria and David looked up on her

“Yung?”

“Kayo…ni…Naomi” Sabi ni Aria and David just stared at her and biglang tumayo si David at niyakap si Aria at umiyak. Hindi maka-paniwala si Aria dahil nakita niya for the very first time si David na umiyak.

“I’m so sorry…Hindi ko sinasadya pero hindi ko maipaliwanag…”

“Na mahal mo siya…” Hindi maka-paniwala si Aria sa mga sinasabi niya. Pinag-handaan nga ba niya ang ganitong sitwasyon? Pero hindi e. Ang alam ni Aria masaya na ang lahat pero dumating si Naomi and then there’s this images she saw. It made her become shattered.

“Aria…” DJ sobbed hard

“Mas mahal kita” Lalo pang umiyak si David sa sinabi niya at napa-pikit nalang si Aria sa mga naririnig niya. Hindi niya alam ang gagawin. It’s too painful for her.

“I have to go.” Sabi ni Aria sabay tulak ng mahina kay David palayo at lumabas ng mabilis.

 

Through the moonlight shining directly on Naomi’s face, she wondered what would have been her life if she didn’t lose her memory and DJ never had a tumor. Would they have a happy ending? No still not. Destiny, it’s called destiny.

Naomi drank her remaining iced tea habang naka-upo sa edge ng pool splashing her feet on the cold water.

“Too much loneliness can kill.” Narinig ni Naomi ang kanyang ina na papalapit. She sighed and smiled a little. She even wondered why both of her parents are her own personal words of wisdom.

“Mom,” Naomi muttered and Wendy hugged her suddenly sobbing daughter.

“Don’t cry honey. Harry told me everything, you don’t have to be sad. Kung nasampal ka ni Aria it’s just physical pain. Gagaling din ‘yan pero ang pain in emotions and feelings? It’s different” Ito yun e. Ang magulang na personal word of wisdom mo. It’s soothing.

“Words of wisdom couple” Sabi ni Naomi at mukhang naintindihan naman ito ng kanyang ina

“Alam mo anak, bukas na ang emo you should rest.” Sabi ni Wendy sa kanyang anak habang sinusuklay niya ang buhok nito.

“Thanks, good night mom” Sabi ni Naomi and she immediately went upstairs to sleep.

For the whole situation? Naomi’s been strong enough to throw a smile even though her heart is already pulverized. “That’s the thing about pain. It demands to be Felt” But too much pain can cause distraction and destruction.

Destruction of your emotions.

Destruction of your trust in everything.

And most of all, Destruction of Love.
