Chapter 37 – Memories sucks

[Naomi Rivero’s P.O.V]

“How come you didn’t tell me?!”

“Uhh surprise Naomi? HEHE I wanna squish your chubby cheeks! I miss you little sis!”

“Madaya ka parin Harvey! Di mo kaagad sinabi na kapatid kita. Unfair!” Sabi ko and he just let out a chuckle.

“Hehe sorry Naomi! Labyu! Babye~”

*Toot*

*Face palm…PAK!*

“Argh!” I bit my pillow and shouted.

“Lakas maka kagat sa pillow te?” Agad akong napa-upo sa kama at tinignan ko kung sino yung nag-salita

“Oh. Kala ko wala na kayo hehe sorry” v(^__^)7

“Loka! Ano nga problema? Spill!” Trixie sat at my bed and she smiled widely. (^____^)

“Harvey’s my brother” I muttered at sa hindi malamang dahilan biglang nag-labasan sila Relle, Yellie, Jale, at Spadex sa may pintuan ng kwarto ko.

“FOR REAL?!” Sabay sabay nilang sabi at halos matawa na ako sa mga expressions nila

“Hindi siguro” Sabi ko and they just looked at me harshly

“Seriously.”

“Ang chismosa niyo rin no?” Sabi ko and hindi maexplain expression nila. V(^____^)7

“Fine oo na nga narinig na namin lahat. Lakas maka-eavesdrop no?” Sabi ni Trixie

“E alam niyo naman pala” Sabi ko and they laughed

“Hey beer tayo guys. Spadex order ka ng pizza” Biglang sabi ni Jale

“Yes ma’am” Sabi ni Spadex sabay harurot palabas ng room ko at si Relle at Yellie naman lumabas kaagad ng suite para bumili ng beer.

“So ano nga yung nang-yari?”

“Ayun hindi ko na lang siya pinansin nung project na yun. Tango lang ng tano sa mga pinag-sasasabi niya. Tuwing break time lagi niyang kausap yung babe niya. Jeez. Nakaka-irita” Sabi ko and they laughed

“Selos!!” Sabi ni Jale and I drank my beer. Pang-ilang bottle ko na ‘to? 3rd bottle na ata?

“Ss! Akoo? Hindeee kulang lang ‘yan sha shtrawberriesh at cho *Hik* colataate.” I started to become dizzy.

“Lashing na shi Naomi. *Hik!* Ma-atulog na tayo sa unicron laaand” Biglang naka-tulog si Trixie at nag-tawanan naman sila Relle at Yellie na parang walang bahid ng tama ng alak.

“Alam niyoooo. Yang shi Dj tanga sha para hindeeee shabihin shakin na *Burp* sorry… na may tu-tumoor pala siya.” I leaned on the couch dahil naka-upo kami sa sahig and naka-sandal ako sa may couch

“He did it because he cares. Sabi niya ayaw niyang masaktan ka kung sakaling mamatay siya” Nag-aalinlangang sabi ni Relle. Malakas na tama ko.

“Hm-mm. Yeah” I muttered. I am starting to doze.

“Mahal mo parin ba siya?” I heard Yellie said

“Hm-mm. Yeah” I said once again. Inaantok na talaga ako

“Handa mo ba siyang ipag-laban kahit alam mong impossible to happen?” I heard spadex said. My brains not functioning well. I closed my eyes and smiled

“Hm-mm. Yeah”

“Good night Naomi” I heard Relle and Yellie said

“Hm-mm. Yeah”

*Buzzing alarm*

“Naomi! Naomi! Good Morning! Sleepyhead-girl! Naomi! Naomi! Bro! I love you!! Joke lang baka patayin mo ako!!” 

I groaned as I heard my alarm na paulit ulit na naririnig ko. My head aches. I reached for my phone and checked it.

8:47 am…late na pala? I shut my alarm off and lay down on my bed and slowly opened my eyes.

Late na pala…

“Shit late na ako late na late na akooo!” I immediately jumped out of bed at nagulat ako nang Makita ko yung mga kasama ko na naka-hilata sa living room. They are drooling! Jeez lakas tama.

I did my morning rituals ten times faster than my usual speed. Jeez. Uusok nanaman ang ilong ni Mr. antipatiko Gonzales dahil pangalawang late ko na ‘to. Pake-alam ko kung magalit siya?! Mas galit ako sakanya!

“You’re late miss Rivero” Oh boy~ Umuusok na ang ilong niya tapos may ilaw na yung mga mata niya. Mukha siyang tren sa totoo lang.

“Oh? Masamang uminom kagabi?” I said habang nakataas ang kilay ko sakanya

“Masama dahil may business pa. Alam mo yun? Engineer ka ba talaga?” I glared at him and continued to check the plan at yung mga nagiging resulta nung Plano.

“Speechless…” I heard him! Sapakin ko yung pancreas niya e.

“Pasalamat ka hindi ako war freak kundi baka kanina ka pa pinag-lamayan” Bulong ko sa sarili ko and on my peripheral vision. I saw him smirk. Edi siya nang may tengang malapad para marinig niya yun.

“Hindi ako tengang kawali if that’s what you’re thinking. Sadyang malakas lang yung bulong mo sa sarili mo”

“Oh! Madame Auring is that you?” I said sarcastically and he furrowed his eyebrow

“Who the heck is that?” Tanong niya

“Ay oo nga pala wala kang maalala. Siya lang naman yung mang-huhula sa Pilipinas.” Sabi ko and rolled my eyes.

“Your eyes look like a roller coaster” Sabi ni DJ while poking my cheeks. Then I remembered something. The night of my 14th birthday near the Acacia tree. We are talking about something and I think he said the same thing and did the same action.

Tinapik ko yung kamay niya palayo sa cheeks ko and bigla siyang tumawa

“Nothing’s funny.” Sabi ko habang hindi ko siya tinitignan

“Ang lambot ng cheeks mo e. Sarap kurutin” Sabi ni DJ and I looked at him. Gusto ko nang umiyak. He’s saying the memorable words I used to hear from him before. Nung birthday ko, nung field trip and marami pa.

“Don’t ever say those words again.” Sabi ko and continued to do my business

“Why?” Bakit ang inosente ng lalakeng ‘to?!

“Because you remind me of my past…” Bulong ko sa sarili ko and bigla namang nanahimik yung katabi ko

“Oh, sorry” Sabi nalang niya and there we stayed silent.

“Memories take us back to where we got hurt. Memories take us back to where we are broken.” DJ sighed and stepped out of the office leaving me alone inside.

My tear fell. “Memories sucks”
