Chapter 8: Cat to the Rescue

Iori just nodded and didn't want to talk more about it. but, still Riku's eyes were sparkling like back then. He looked away from Riku, preventing him from noticing it. Too cute, it is hard to resist. Riku puzzled at Iori's act.

Riku: Iori, what's wrong? Your face red.?

Iori: Nothing!

Riku put his hand on Iori's forehead, startled him and immediately brushed off the hand.

Iori: I'm not sick!

Riku: really? but you--

BZZZ! BZZZ! Riku's phone vibrated. A message from momo has arrived. Riku put it aside and opened the message containing video footage at his location two days ago. Riku played that video of black and white as Iori watched it too. The video shows the place where the cats are. He accelerated the video while detecting something unusual.

Within 10 hours of the video being played, Angela's cat was finally seen. Riku let the video play in normal mode. Their eyes were on that cat, observing her act. At first, there was nothing unusual about it, but after 15 minutes, the shadow of a human was apparent. As Iori said, a group of men had approached to that area. Angela was taken by one of them as well as several other cats. Apart from them trying to fight back but useless because they were being roughly beaten by the men using a hard steel. It was very difficult to watch because the group was quite cruel toward the cats.

Iori: Unforgivable....

Riku looked at Iori who was now in a state of rage. His eyes and teeth began to sharpen as if he were in a bloodlust state. Fortunately, no one is in the area at the moment. But, as he worried if Iori could not control himself, Riku tried to calm him down even though he himself was afraid of Iori's current.

Riku: Iori, hold yourselves!

Iori: *snapped.......Sorry......... *back to normal.

Riku: Don't worry, we will avenge them.

They continued to watch the video and stopped for one duration where the group was putting the cat into a white van with Animal Protection written on it. They believe that writing may be a trick to keep people aware. There, they could see the plate number of the van. That's the hint. Without delay, Riku wrote the number to Momo in order to track the van.

Momo: Roger *ousama thumbs up

Riku: I hoped the van was not far from here which enough for us to catch up.

Iori: Hmm....

Riku: ......Iori? You're, okay?

Iori: *breathed out. I'm fine.... Sorry for my act just now.

Riku: It's fine. I know how you feel.

Although Riku understood what it felt like, but Iori may feel it more than him. Imagining that he also might have been through the matter before they met.

After watching the video, things get a little awkward while waiting for a message from Momo. Iori, on the other hand, looks a little serious. Riku tries to find a way to change the atmosphere. He took something in his bag.

Riku: Iori

Iori: Wha-mphhh ?! * Riku stuffed the bun into his mouth and took it out. What are you?

Riku: You gave it to me earlier, so while waiting for his message maybe we can eat first. It's still hot.

Iori: I'm not hung--

GRUUU

Riku: eh?

Iori: Nothing! * Continue eating.

Riku smiled.

Time had passed, Momo had sent a message where the location of the van was. Fate is on their side. The van currently was not far from where they were now which is within a 15-minute walk. Without further delay, they immediately rushed towards the area.

Arriving within 100 meters of the location of the van, they hid themselves behind the wall to monitor the surroundings of the place. The area was very quiet. As they saw in the video, it was the same van. There are three men there. One person was busy typing something on his mobile phone, the other two were managing a dog that was struggling to escape from the cage that was enough for him. one of them holds a hard steel that has been used to hit innocent animals.

The dog's ignition sound was initially loud but slowed down when the man threatened with a stick knocking on the cage. Riku noticed Iori had closed her ears as if unable to hear the sound from the animal. Plus, he can understand it.

Riku: Iori, what did you hear?

Iori: .... They asked for help ... too many voices......

Riku placed his hand on Iori's left shoulder. Then Iori pointed something towards the van. Riku tried to scan the place that he pointed out. There, they could see the Angela cat that they were looking for was inside the back of the van. Things need to act immediately before it is too late. They could hear a little bit of their conversation.

Man 1: Okay, this is the last one near this area. * Put the cage at the back of van.

Man 2: We also got a lot this time. We're gonna be rich.

Man 3: Come on, we have to get out of here before anyone sees us.

Iori: They're not here for long. I need to think how to get their attention. Should I use that?

Riku: Ehemm, I know how.

Iori: Ehh?

Iori could guess what his plan was, but it was too late to stop it. Riku came out of his hiding place and rushed towards them.

Riku: Stop right there!

The men looked at Riku strangely. Iori, on the other hand, patted his forehead seeing Riku's action acting like a hero who came to save the situation. In spite of that, he did not give a signal of his presence to them, he's watching them for the time being.

Man 3: Hey kid, what are you doing here? This is not a place for you.

Riku: Give me back that cat! *Pointed out

Man 3: Cat? that? * He looked at the cat on the cage

Man 3: Sorry no can do. It's ours now. So, buzzed off.

Riku didn't move any step from the place he stood. His looked sharply toward the man which make him felt pissed. Then, he walked toward him. As his hand was about to touch Riku, Iori started to stand up and got out from the hiding, tried to catch up to Riku. But in the blink of an eye, Riku pushed the hand away and twisted the man's wrist making the man to kneel.

Man 3: OUCH! OUCH! OUCH! THAT'S HURT!

Man 2: Why you!

Another man swings the steel directly to Riku. Iori ran toward them and restrained the attack with his right hand.

Iori: Seriously, that was really careless.

Riku: Hehe..but, I know you'll come.

Both Riku and Iori pushed the men away from them. They stood by side ready to fight back. The third took one steel near him and joined with the other two. He might be their leader.

Man 1: You kids are really looking for trouble. Get them.

Hmm should I describe the story deeply? maybe not. I really lack in translating it from my language. I hope you understand the plot that's going on.
