"One last toast for this summer! To us!" I declared, holding up my milkshake into the air.
"Woo!" Cleo, Emery, and Kristin (over FaceTime) cheered. We were at Shake It Up, a milkshake shop in Chicago. Kristin had made her own milkshake and we were virtually together. It was one week until we would all be headed to our post-secondary schools.
"So, we're all coming back for Christmas, right? Well, I mean, Kristin isn't. But Paris and Cleo, you are, right?" Emery asked.
"Yup!" I nodded. Cleo gave us a thumbs up.
"Kristin, you should come visit again! Hey, isn't the thirteenth anniversary of us in, like, two weeks?" I remarked.
"OMG! Yes! I completely forgot!" giggled Kristin.
"We have to FaceTime on that day," I stated. My friends all agreed, and we all started drinking our milkshakes and talking together, just like we did on the day we met.
