Dabi's POV

Shutting the door behind me, sudden pain engulfing me grunting, shutting one eye. I've been ignoring the pain until now.
"Fuck..." I thought, bending down slightly, trying to walk through it away from Hawks' apartment, walking slowly through the streets, memories filling up.

(Into the past)

Walking towards the house, suddenly hearing a loud scream coming from the house, flinching I quickly ran luckily I wasn't far from the house then I thought. Sliding the door open, running to each room soon hearing crying coming from one of the rooms nearby, quickly sliding the door open to see Shoto tears in his eye holding on his face.
"Shoto!"
Shoto quickly looks at my direction, tears running down his face. I rush to him, holding him in my arms.
"Sh...it's okay, your save now..." I say, holding him closer feeling him grasping my shirt tightly, "B-Brother..." He says trembling, tears still racing down his cheeks, holding him tighter, stroking my fingers through his hair.
"Let's get you bandaged up, okay..." I say in a comforting vone, I could feel him nod from in my chest. Smiling slightly, soon letting go to get some bandages, rushing back to Shoto sitting in a corner, legs bent close to his chest, walking over to him I bend down soon sitting on my legs, carefully moving Shoto closer to me facing me, slowly soon raping the bandages over his eye, I could feel him flinch to me raping, soon finishing looking down at Shoto.
"Did father do this...?" I ask, Shoto quickly shaking his head, "Then who-" I cut myself off, raping my arms around Shoto holding him close, "I'm sorry..." slipped out, Shoto hugging me crying. Stroking his hair, thoughts rushing through my mind.
"You couldn't protect him!"
"He got hurt and it's all your fault!"
"Useless!"
"Pathetic!"
"How can you become a hero if you couldn't protect your own brother!"
Shutting my eyes, gritting my teeth together, tears flowing down my cheeks.
"Damnit..."
Shoto glancing up at me with a concerning look in his eyes, wiping my tear, I smile slightly.
"I'm alright..." I lied, hoping Shoto would by it, he gently pats my hair.
Shoto saw through me, of course he would he is my brother after all...
Smiling, tears running down my face, gently moving my head to rest on Shoto's forehead.
"Thank you..."

(Back to the present)

Pain from my wounds, snapping me back to reality, wincing I stop, taking a breath, I hear footsteps quickly closing in and a familiar voice yelling.
"DABS!"
Glancing over soon getting tackled, losing my balance, both falling forwards, wincing to touch of the cold ground hitting my skin. Looking over at Toga hugging me, moving raising us up into a sitting position.
Did she miss me that much?
Moving my hand towards her soon stopping, I could hear her sniffling. Is she crying?
"Crazy?" I mumble, she tightening her hold on me, bring me closer. "I-I'm so happy your okay..." She says, moving herself slightly loosening her grasp on me, facing me with a wide smile, tear drops flowing down her cheeks, flinching I slightly smile.
"Y-Yeah..." I say, not knowing what else to add, she looks at me confused, I could feel sweat forming, I chuckle nervously trying to laugh it off. She smirks making me even more nervous.
"What?" I ask, she looking at me with a smug face, "Did you enjoy hanging out with Birdy that much!" She adds, making me blush I quickly shake my head, "THE HELL NO!" I shouted, denying her, she chuckles, I turn my head blushing slightly.
"Dam her!"
She moves away from me soon standing, she brushes her skirt, fixing it up, turning my head, she reaches her hand out for me, sighing I take it, helping up to my feet Toga smiles at me.
"Let's get back Handy would be deeply happy to see you!" She says chuckling, I roll my eyes. As if...
"Yeah, yeah..." I say, watching her start to skip off, I soon followed, walking.

Hawks' POV

It's been an hour since Dabi left, laying on my bed an arm covering over my eyes, hearing the time tic by, moving my arm slightly staring up at the ceiling above me, my wings spread out on my king sized bed, extra feathers resting on my chest. Memories of Touya flows through my mind soon suddenly the thoughts of Touya fades to Dabi, quickly moving my arm away raising myself upwards into a sitting position, the feathers that were resting on my chest now lay on my lap, blushing I shake my head, why the hell did I think about that creep? Sighing I slide my legs over to the side on the bed, wings flapping slightly, standing up feathers falling to the floor, I walk out of my room towards the kitchen, scavenging throw the kitchen for food, sudden vibration coming from my pocket, flinching I quickly rush through my pocket taking out my phone, turning it on to a message from Rumi.
"What could she want?" I thought, clicking on the message reading.
"Hey Hawks, are you free this weekend?"
Blinking, why would she be asking if I'm free? I don't think, I have patrol this weekend?
I text back.
"Hey, yeah I'm free...why?"
Waiting for a response, I go back to scavenging not soon enough, she replied. Geez that was fast!
Looking down to my messages, reading.
"Wonderful! I was just wondering if we could have lunch together on Friday, like maybe KFC? What ya say?"
My eyes sparkles to me reading KFC, I quickly text back without a second thought.
"OF COURSE, YOU'RE ON!"
Imagining the taste of chicken, making me drool sudden vibration snapping me out of my daydream, quickly checking my messages, reading.
"Haha, somebody sounds excited-
I chuckle nervously, soon continuing...
-meet me at KFC's around 12 til 1!"
Smiling, I quickly text back.
"OKAY, CYA THEN!"
My wings flapping vigorously, lifting my feet slightly off the floor, turning off my phone not bothering to check if she replied, quickly realization hits me, landing my wings stops flapping frozen.
"TOMORROW'S FRIDAY!"
