The investigation starts

Erik's POV

We started with the bullet. Wade told us he could figure out how far away it was.

So we did some trials to see. Considering I didn't realize the metal was there until after he got shot, means the shooter must've been far away. Or I was distracted.

After an hour we found tracks from where the mud dried.

"How convenient, it's almost as if the author made this happen to ensure we find the shooter" was muttered.

"Wade, I don't have time for this. The track is going this way. Let's follow" and with that I was off.

We walked for miles, and miles. Until we reached a dead end at a back road. Nothing.

"SON OF A BITCH" no one stopped me from yelling, or going over and punching a tree.

We all looked disappointed and angry.

"Um guys," hank's voice was full of uncertainty.

"What is it Big Foot?" Alex demanded

"I found this,"

It was a ripped piece of cloth.

"It's not much, but it's a start."

And we had our first clue
