Chapter 47: August's POV

Start from the beginning

"This looks so nice on you." He smiled, patting my shoulder. "Also, my name is Jace, sorry about not introducing myself to you."

"I'm August, it's nice to meet you, thank you for helping me." I smiled.

"Oh, it's no problem sug, so when are you going to be having your ceremony? Next month? A few months from now?" He asked, wrapping the tape around my chest.

"Um, actually 6 days." I bit my lips together, hoping he would be able to make the adjustments in time.

"I guess I have a few red-eye nights ahead of me, don't I?" He chuckled, writing my measurements down on the small note pad that had been in his pocket.

"If you're not-" The Omega pressed his finger to my lips.

"Nonsense, I can make it work. Especially when you, an Omega, got accepted by their Alpha mate. Oh gosh, the talk of the town, our Luna is an Omega." He excitedly said.

"Um." I started. "Could you please keep this between us, we're having a private ceremony for several reasons. We're only inviting close friends and family to avoid someone objecting to our bond."

"Oh..." He quietly responded. "When are you guys going to tell the pack?"

"We're telling them at the next full moon ceremony after we've had the ceremony. It's crazy you know that just a few short months ago, I thought Onyx would be the Luna, but here I am getting a suit fitted for my ceremony with the Alexandre." I tug on the jacket, looking at my rear in the mirror. The suit was baggy in some areas, of course, it fit just right in some areas.

"I'm just wondering how things will go after this point. I've never heard of an Alpha actually accepting an Omega as their mate... There's plenty of stories of Alpha's denying their goddess-given mate just because of their casting in this world. This is amazing." Jace sounded joyful at this news. "This might be a pivotal moment in time, you guys could change the world's view on Omega's..."

"Honestly, Jace, I don't think it'll happen soon when we accepted those Omega from different packs... There were several that were malnourished, bruised, and scarred. If anything, our mating will put a target on our backs. Even some of this pack still do not treat Omega's right. It's going to probably get messy really quick." I explained, rubbing my neck where Alexandre's fresh mark scabbed over. "If you want my honest opinion, if it was best for the pack, he should have denied me to save the pack from people who want to hurt us already."

"You're talking like a true Luna." He had an awed expression on his face, he began helping me take the suit off. "I know I don't know you kid, but you're really showing that you'll be what's best for us in the long run. Keep your chin up." He tapped on my chin, signaling me to tilt it upwards.

"Okay..." I drawled, unsure if he understood the risks of our mating. I realized what's done is done, we're already halfway completed with the mating process at this point there wasn't much that could be done seeing as we bore each other's marks already.

"I have the measurements down, I'll get to working on it ASAP I'll try to get it done early just in case we need to make minor adjustments. Now let's help your friend find his attire for your ceremony. What did you have in mind?" He asked, handing me my clothes that I had been wearing. I got dressed, and once I was done, Jace pulled me from the dressing room. Raven was still looking through the racks.

"How about a vest, button-down, and some nice pants, instead of a suit? I want my guests to be comfortable." I explained, Jace nodded and began his adventure looking through the racks with Raven.

"What are your colors for the ceremony?" He asked.

"Burgundy, gold, navy, and white," I responded, flicking through the options. Slowly but surely, I could feel my clothes become itchy and unbearable. I just had to help Raven find his stuff, then we could leave, then I could get back to my mate.

"I think this one would match well!" Jace exclaimed, holding a burgundy vest up. "It would go just fine with a white button-up, let's get that as well. Maybe we could throw in a pop of gold by getting you a bowtie?" He looked at me questioningly. I could barely comprehend the words that had come out of his mouth, I nodded in agreement.

"I think I need to get going..." I explained. My legs had begun shaking, weakening because of being away from my mate for too long. Right now, I just needed him.

"I'll be back tomorrow to come and get the stuff, I need to get him back home. Thank you so much!" Raven quickly grabbed my hand and dragged me out of the store. Outside it felt like the sun was beating down on me, despite it being a cold winter day, it felt like a warm, muggy day. I felt miserable right now. "We're still stopping by the shop to get that thing I was talking about," Raven remarked, continuing to drag me across the street.

My mind was buzzing, there was only one thing I could concentrate on at the moment, which was getting back home to my mate. "I want my mate," I whined out. I wouldn't whine like that under normal circumstances, but right now, the wave of heat had taken over.

"I'll get you to your mate, but we need to get this first, so you can go longer without having your brains fucked out," Raven explained, making me whine again. It hurt so much. My body was calling for my mate. "Here, stand right here, I'm going to go in there and get what you need." His eyes were stern, telling me to remain put. I whined again, nodding in response.

He disappeared into the store quickly, like a man in the mission. I leaned up against the brick wall, closing my eyes, trying to keep my mind occupied. "What's an Omega like you, doing out all by yourself while in heat?" The scent of a dominant wolf hit my nostrils, almost making me recoil at the smell. It wasn't my mates, it almost smelled of sulfur. I peaked my eyes open to see who had approached me. "It's weird; even though you bare a mating mark, you still smell delectable." He grabbed my chin. I didn't know who he was, but the way he acted toward me made me want to bite his hand off.

"Leave me be!" I gnashed my teeth together.

"I don't know about that?" He chuckled.

"Let me go." I bit back at his words.

"Oh, and how will you make me?" He cocked his eyebrow. "You must have a weak mate if his scent isn't enough to mingle with yours, I bet I could cover it up with my pheromones."

"Get away from me!" I snapped, grabbing his wrist. Despite me being weaker due to my heat, the training that Alexandre had made me go through came in handy. I had him on the ground within a few seconds. "You'll find out who my mate is soon enough, you bastard." I spat.

"Alright, I got-" Raven's voice sounded, cut short due to his wide-eyed reaction to the scene. "What the fuck happened?" He asked worriedly, pulling me away from the dominant male.

"He attacked me." The pathetic excuse whined in pain.

"Oh, don't even go there; you touched me, you prick. I only acted in defense." I retorted.

"It's not my fault you're a stupid Omega going out while in heat." He sat up, rubbing his cheek that had previously been kissing the concrete.

"That is no right for you to assault me." My anger was so high that hot tears began flowing down my cheeks.

"We're getting you home right now." Raven grabbed my arm, hurriedly dragging me to his car. I let out a groan of pain.

Xandre. I mind linked my mate.

Is everything alright? He responded.

I need you. I whimpered. Please, I need you.

Okay, baby, I'm on my way home now. I'll see you there.

A/N: Surprisingly this chapter didn't need that much editing thank god, now I can spoil myself by making pancakes for dinner.
